Five in my clan (myself included) running a Guided Raid to help a random. One member lagged out and tried to get back in immediately and got an Oathbreaker penalty... ... ...the game would not let him back in due to this.
Kind of a problem. All of us voted after to Abandon without Penalty so we could all leave and then finish the raid with the random anyways. However, we do not get any rewards as a clan or as a player for this.
There has to be a way to fix this or why would a clan risk anything negative by running any Guided Games/Nightfall/Raids.
I understand the concept behind why Bungie has this but...an accidental lag out and locked out of getting back in is wrong.
I've never asked for a like, but if you read this and could like it so it gathers some attention from Bungie to come up with a way around this. (cough...cough...a timer to get back in the game).
Ended up going back in the raid after going out to orbit with the random (Silvermain1066) and back into the raid and found out we also didn't have our checkpoint, that's shitty. We are starting the raid fresh anyways again, no big deal, we are still going to clear this for him.

Update: I just want to thank everyone for the support, over 1200 bumps and a lot of great suggestions that I hope Bungie takes into consideration. I'm hoping Bungie will acknowledge it at least and help us all get this addressed :)

So I got a guided game penalty after my Xbox overheated and shut down in the middle of the nightfall. Pls fix bungie

It’s really unfair when your suddenly kicked from guided games because of forced out of our controlle like network failure or power outage. They should add some kind of programs that dosn’t allow for the ban to happen if something like this happens.

I started with Destiny 1 Week before the Release of Rise of Iron. Now in Destiny 2, I started my first Raid through the guided Games. I waited 40 Minutes. Then I was matched with a Clan. I was so excited...my first Raid. And got then disconnected in the second Minute. And got the Penalty and no Chance to reconnect to my matched Fireteam.

1 ReplyYou go to the meat grinder for putting names😁

1 ReplyWow. Did no one at Bungie think that disconnects wouldn't happen? You guys should have really added some sort of mechanic that allows i.e. 5 mins for the player to get back in to the same group once lagged out. The Division, as broken as it is still has a feature that if you are lagged out and sent back to the title screen; gives you a few minutes to rejoin the exact team you were previously match made with. At the title screen, you just hit X (on PS4) then click on you character and when you are done loading you are back into the exact same team and mission you were in before the disconnect.

Did the raid up to calus but had back out due to the game glitching. Got grouped back up with the two random that guided games matched us with only to find out that we didn't get a check point.... If bungie seriously thinks that every group that uses guided games can beat the raid in one sitting, they're kidding themselves

4 RepliesNot bungies problem if you have shit internet

Hey man that’s great of you. Glad you posted this. Haven’t been paired with a clan in guided raid yet, big props to the Clans taking part.

2 RepliesHas anyone from Bungie responded to this thread? Because I think it's something that definitely needs responding to.

Should just give an option to matchmaker with randoms

Tried raid guided games as a seeker and the queues were 45 mins to an hour. Went back to LFG site and joined a group and completed the raid. What a waste of a good idea. There’s no incentive for the seeker or the guides. Why not just put LFG lobbies into the game?

3 RepliesGuided Games really is such a ridiculous work around all because Bungie is being too stubborn on a subject that should have been implemented from the beginning and does nothing for the community at all. Its a complete waste of resources that has players in no better off a situation YEARS later. We are still forced to outsource for multiplayer when matchmaking for Nightfalls and a simple Raid symbol next to your name could showcase to other players that you are interested in doing a Raid. With all the nonsense Bungie has done to this game over the years this is the one thing that irritates me the most honestly.

I'm sorry that happened and I hope Bungie sees this and provides some relief. But I said it when it was introduced. This is a flawed concept. It's half measures, and it assumes that more than half the playerbase of this game is too stupid or too bad a player and thus need to be carried in the first place. This is not the case. Most of these players just want to matchmake. Couple this with insane wait times and goofy penalties for sherpa's who have done nothing wrong and were simply disconnected due to poor technical support, lack of an incentive in the form of proper rewards for these guides, clans wanting to make good use of their playtime and sessions, and what you have is a complete failure of an in game system. Put an in game lfg into Destiny 2 or don't. I don't get the overthinking on this, and I don't understand why it's so complicated to reach a logical decision one way or the other.

Happened to me with nfall. So annoying

I am no lover of Guided Games, a deeply flawed concept in the first place but I will bump this. I will never use it, however, if Bungie insist on having this in the game then the very least they could do is get it right.
-
That's what you get for buying into a poorly designed system where the main intent was to retain casual players for their bottom line. There's no benefits for the clan. It only benefits Bungie's Profit & Loss statement.

2 RepliesBump. I think the Oathkeeper Score should be a dual system that asks the seeker to rate the guides. Could work just like the report system where you check off positives and negatives
