Cydes chest gave me two notes of paper this week "WTF"

No idea what u on about I have never not once got nothing from a chest, u lot are smoking some crazy badizzle !!

I have no idea if loot cool downs are active or what. But, I can say that the 5 Cayde chests were very close to each other and two of them ended up being empty for me. So, either a terribly cool down (in this case, on a non-renewable resource), or a serious bug.

Bump. This is incredibly frustrating & kills my motivation to play the game, simply because it reflects design decisions that I really don't care to see evolve down the line into WORSE mechanics. Plus, I really am reluctant to reward them for wasting players' time like this YET AGAIN. The thing that's so irritating is that I'm sure most of us could think of VASTLY superior alternative game mechanics to slow progress & still keep things fun and in the spirit of a loot endgame, and probably could do so in a few minutes time. For example, they could allow us to use our tokens to either get a random engram & shader combo (as currently we do) OR pay 2-3 times that amount in tokens to select an engram from a KNOWN CLASS (like helmets or boots). The type of selectable engram could rotate from week to week like Rahool's used to do in D1. Any armor type could drop, but it would be heavily biased towards the location specific type. And this mechanism where every item has the same mods when it drops... I've heard it has to do with balancing issues in crucible. Ok... why not create a restricted & unrestricted arena & introduce random drops again. Only allow end game rewards in restricted crucible, where the only weapons & gear you can bring in are the ones that Bungie had designed, play tested, & balanced. Those are essentially the equivalent of the faction vendor gear from D1 anyway, so I'm sure most of us would be fine with that & have great incentive to grind our way to s full set to be competitive in restricted mode. Any one not into that sort of thing could predominantly play unrestricted for fun. These are not hard concepts & I doubt they require huge asset diversions to implement in the game. It just takes a mindset NOT geared towards stretching out content for as long as possible & instead geared towards a fun, rewarding experience that pays the player back for the time they invest in the game. The players WILL stretch the content out for themselves if you build it correctly & you will ultimately have a happier, more devoted player population and FAR LESS work to do to keep & maintain them if you build it right from the get go. I can't imagine it's any fun to constantly try & correct game design mistakes post-launch & sure as heck makes us mad watching them do it & waiting through it all.

Because people sat in front a loot mine for hours and continuously found new ones, bungie knew this game would be the same and so there's a loot cool down. As long as you are playing the game normally a space out the chests a little you won't notice it.

Oh wow so Destiny 1 Lords of Iron errors are showing up in Destiny 2. That's logical, same bloody programmers.

grinding im used to is when content has you farming xp for 9 months playing everyday. oh wait thats only everquest 2. here its not so bad, hit a wall 2 weeks in then grind another 2 to be at least 290+. seems quick

It has to be a bug concerning planet resources from what I have been reading there doesn't seam to be a timer it only seams to happen after you pick up world resources. I farm the edz for hours with no issues always getting loot from chests. Always at least 1 coin and most times at least 1 blue. But there are always loot. Try looting chests with out picking up planetary resources and see if that helps

Yes this thing is broken waste of time .... you go there and chest is empty ! WHY? And you paid glimmer for it! What -blam!-ing stash is empty? Cayde you keep empty stashes all hidden?

That explains all the blank chests.

Cause by his wants to artificially extend the time spent in the game till they decide if they want to do events like festival of the lost and the dawning before dlc curse of Osiris drops
