How did you get your first Gjallarhorn?
With Destiny 2 only a few weeks away, I wanted to take some time to look back at some of the good memories of Destiny 1.
Tell me, where were you when you obtained the mighty Gjallarhorn? What was your reaction?

Atheon kill about a week into Dark Below. I was very happy because I wanted for a long time. I wasted no time doing every possible bounty every day to upgrade it to Max. I think I did it in two days by swapping between 3 characters. Way before mote of light upgrades we're a thing.

1 ReplySo I remember LFG'ing a VOG rum fairly early in the game. I was level 28 I believe, this was when Hard Mode had come out. And the group that I was with, were talking about the Gjallarhorn and how they wanted it. Now at the time, I didn't really know what it was and how powerful it was. So we proceeded to destroy Atheon, and behold the Gjallarhorn dropped for me. They all went nuts one of them even raged as he left the party. That Gjallarhorn has gone through SO MANY Crota and Skolas runs. Time and time again. I still have it in my vault. Waiting its impending death as Ghaul approaches the tower. T-Minus 24 days til ground zero.

1 ReplyIt was my first Nightfall. Nexus Mind with some hardcore modifiers. The other two guys put in some serious work and both got pretty subpar Auto Rifles. I saw Gjallarhorn drop and just sat there open-mouthed for about 5 minutes. Will we have those moments in Destiny 2, Cozmo?

Week before Christmas (year 1) and in my household you could hear a pin drop as my G-horn had just dropped as a Nightfall reward.

Level 28 Prison of Elders. It was the first run so an exotic was guaranteed and I wanna say it was my first exotic weapon too.

Hm Crota's End, about 4th day after release. Can remember dropping the bitc*, then clearing out the boomers and nights. And up popped the mighty Ghorn :D. Couldn't level it quick enough and see the wolf pack rounds in action

First exotic weapon ever so I didn't even realize that it was such a big deal

Killed crota for the 50th time got 5 vex and icebreaker week 2 but took me 9 months or so for ghorn

Prison of elders level 28 chest, week 1 of TTK, so took a year, 2500+ hrs, and 200+ deleted characters chasing the damm thing. I didn't feel anything only FFS, as itd been completely nerfed a few weeks earlier, and I think was stuck at yr1 light level, actually I think it was 160 or 170 after they changed the levelling numbers

Rahool. Pretty stunned to be honest, then he proceeds to give me 3 more over time. I'm fact, it took a while for the first, but after I finally got one, I had 9 of them before Xur finally sold it again.

Got it to drop from my first ever legendary engrams. Went "Oh cool, a rocket launcher. Glad it wasn't a machine gun, or I would've had to dismantle it."

Helping a friend transfer a VoG checkpoint to another character at the Gorgon maze. Opened the exotic chest and bam, profit!

In the game, got it from a legendary engram. In real life, I have it preorderd at gamestop.
