How did you get your first Gjallarhorn?
With Destiny 2 only a few weeks away, I wanted to take some time to look back at some of the good memories of Destiny 1.
Tell me, where were you when you obtained the mighty Gjallarhorn? What was your reaction?

Im new to the game (playing for 1 or 2 weeks) and just got it from my first ever prison of elders. Idk what the chances are but i legit screamed

3 RepliesGot mine from patrolling Venus in year one shot a hobgoblin and it dropped a yellow engram at that time I didn't know what an exotic was went to decrepit it when I went to the tower and it turned out to be the Gjallarhorn. Also at that time didn't know it was a good weapon until my son told me it was the best weapon in the game then he started playing on my account to play raids bc that was a requirement to run Crota back in the day.

I got my first Gjallarhorn from killing Atheon back in vanilla Destiny. I was so angry when I got it because every time I completed Atheon he would give me an exotic that wasn't the Vex Mythoclast! Little did I know.. He had given me a weapon that put the Vex to shame... By the way, you guys need to bring Gjallarhorn into Destiny 2. It wouldn't be a Destiny game without it!

I believe my first gjallarhorn was in a Nexus nightfall strike with void burn. Made my whole team salty. My friend got his at the bottom of a crucible match.

1 ReplyXur in Week 1. Dismantled it shortly afterwards because we did not know about the hidden proximity perk and I kept blowing myself up with it while trying to shoot between enemies. Got my next one in a night fall 1900 hours later of game play.

Got my first one most of the way through Dark Below running the nightfall with my friend. Then ended up feeling like a bastard when the same friend (who at that point didn't have one) watched me get two more within the week (Ir Yut and the VoG exotic chest) to be running around with one on each character.

I got my first gjally from the quest in rise of iron.... Been playing since day 1. Chose to buy helm of inrmost light instead of gjally when xur sold it that ONE time back in year 1. (that clearly was the biggest mistake I ever made in destiny in hindsight lol) I really had bad luck and it was literally the one exotic weapon I never got in year 1 despite doing the nightfall every week...

Finally got it from a nightfall. Got to play with it for a week before you nerfed it. Shortly after that it was left behind. My reaction? I was pretty salty to be honest. It was so frustrating to see it drop so many times for friends who played considerably less than I did. They would have three or four and it just wouldn't drop for me. I was beginning to subscribe to the theory that there were different loot tables for different people. Remember that one? Anyway, I didn't feel any joy when it finally dropped. I think my exact words were, "About -blam!-ing time!"

Edited by GunGraved: 8/14/2017 1:53:22 AMI got mine from Crota! I was actually focused on getting Black Hammer. Upon completion, I instead got the raid fusion rifle. Someone in the party said he saw Gjallarhorn in the feed, but wasn't sure who got it. I assumed someone else got it, I hadn't had much luck getting one despite my effort. I went to orbit afterwards and BOOM Gjallarhorn popped up on the side. I couldn't believe I actually got one, I was still is disbelief despite seeing it right in front of me. An awesome moment, good times.
