Imagine: For years, a benevolent alien power knew that our planet was going to be invaded by hostile aliens. They aided in the creation of Destiny, supposedly a fun game... but actually a sophisticated training sim for when the invasion comes.
On 9-6-17, when we think Destiny 2 will drop? That's when the invasion arrives.
As a loyal Destiny player, you have been among those chosen to be empowered as a Guardian. But the catch is, your empowerment is not just based of your playstyle and experience, but also your personality. Do you have the loner nature of a hunter? The cerebral nature of a warlock? Or are you Titan-tough?
Note also that you only get one subclass, and it selects you based on who you are. Do you walk in the edge of the darkness, like a Voidwalker? Protect at all cost like a Defender? Or charge into the fray to administer up-close death, like Strikers or Bladedancers?
When the apocalypse comes, and find yourself facing it down with double fistfuls of light... what are you?
EDIT: Just so we're clear, you can be either a D1 or D2 subclass. Since D2 subclasses are newly discovered, they cannot be customized, so you're stuck with blocks of perks (like in the game).
Just remember that just because you're not super smart doesn't mean you won't be a Warlock, or not a loner won't make you not a Hunter, or stone willed to be a Titan. Even the Warlocks had their orders for completely different kinds of Warlocks. Lol, some were very pragmatic, others completely knowledge driven, others were protectors, and some wanted power for revenge and justice, and others wanted wisdom (which is different from knowledge) and foresight. For instance, Warlocks are whispered to being very secretive. While one who doesn't talk much about themselves or their thoughts might be thought to be a Hunter (but even that has its exceptions), it also embodies a Warlock's tendency to only reveal what is necessary to all and share with those who earn the right to know. Hunters, while some lead a lonely life, others relish in the company of others. Take Cayde-6 for example, he loved entertaining the children and telling stories and all that sort of things yet Shaax abhorred the idea (it's in a card somewhere, I swear). Shiro, who was never too far from the Vanguard or Eris who kept to her company of six until they were no more. Efrideet who found a new home far flung from everyone else, but never alone. Then you have the Hunters before the city took root and guided civilians to saftey while driving off Fallen from afar. Speaking of Titans, Shaax, Saladin, and Zavala are completely different in their mindsets. Shaax perfers attack and domination while Zavala preaches patience, planning, and taking as few losses as possible. Saladin perfers to only use those he askes to join him once he knows they're able bodied and wishes to not burden anyone he doesn't have to. On a broader level you have the Iron Lords that were different casts of Hunters and Titans and Warlocks who enjoyed (to an extent) the company of their brotherhood. -- Basically, you have the average Warlock, Hunter, and Titan exterior, sure, but in reality there is no such thing as concrete mindsets or personalities they take on. Lol, even with sleeping, you could have trouble with determining just who you would be. Hunters often have sleep disorders due to their call for adventure and the frontier, or this could be a Warlock that voraciously studies and learns and follows trails for their own ends and thus loses sleep regularly, or a Titan who's constant vigil over a caravan or the walls or a far flung settlement needs almost constant watch from perspective attackers, and thus can also be thrown into very irregular or detrimental sleeping habits. -- I think, in the stead of personality, it's your idea or morality. What do you believe to be right, what do you believe is true strength, what is most important, and how would you go about pursuing those rights with that strength for that important duty? That, IMO, would show much more than your personality. Of course, these would all have their own exceptions as well, but it would be slightly more accurate. For instance, I think a very spiritual person would be much, much, much more likely to be a Warlock than a Titan or Hunter. Someone who constantly thinks outside of the here and now, existent to non-existent. They would be more likely to, in the face of what 'can' we do, to ask what 'should' we do. Not all roads should be taken. Then again... maybe not though. Some have no time for arcane wisdom, only what grants power or doesn't grant it. I suppose it's just what ends up being correct, or how much you want it to be. Hunters, typically, have no care for that sort of thing. They are reality scanners, constantly thinking of what's the best position now, where to go now, what to do now, how to dodge in the moment. Instinctual, fast but focused, and undistracted by things that don't matter in the now. But then you have Shiro and Eris, who have learned that some things simply require more thought than perceived at first glance. Titans are usually practical, pragmatic, but are also detail driven when it comes to arms and armor. They, I would think, would be engineering inclined people. Those that want something, make something, and then improve that something to where their life is easier or better because of it. They don't have time for something that doesn't work, and their work is too important to leave it behind by exploring or thinking about something that won't help them in their task. But then you have Rezyl, who was famed for his exploits and adventures by helping countless people all over the place. Or Saint-14, who was very much driven by the Speaker and took to his own path -- So, it comes down to you. What are you like, what do you believe, and I suppose... what do you truly want? Or, the better question, what don't you believe? What do you despise? What to do you abhor? Perhaps, instead of asking what you will be, you should ask what you won't be. Sometimes saying what you know you won't do is more revealing than predicting what you will do.

Hunter, bladedancer

The class chooses the guardian
-
If I was one I would either be a warlock because I like studying and learning, but I'm also a loner so I could be a hunter. I have a little bit more of an aggressive personality so I would probably be a dawnblade or an arc strider

3 RepliesSelfish, charismatic, cunning Guess I'm a hunter

2 RepliesThat's super backward.

warlock. voidwalker.

Hunter. I really want to help, but ultimately I turn to myself to git shit dun.
-
1 ReplyI'd say, sorry class, I have a headache.

7 RepliesShoot first, shoot again, don't bother with questions. Gunslinger.
It's high noon somewhere in the world
1 ReplyI'd definitely be a Hunter, I'm selfish and do best on my own. As for my subclass, I've always been someone who prefers the darker side of things. Like I'd be a sith, not a Jedi. So I'd most likely get nightstalker.
-
Hunter by far
-
I guess I would be a Gunslinger Hunter since I got that hunter's snark in me. But while my subclass is more focused on long-ranged attacks, my weapons of choice would more mid and close-range oriented, like auto riffles, hand-cannons, and swords.

Sentinel Titan.

I think I would be a warlock. I love the idea of being able to manipulate and harness energy to do what u want with it. I also don't share many of my thoughts with others. I say what needs to be said no more no less

3 RepliesMesmer.

I'd be a warlock because I feel like being a mysterious warrior who holds knowledge and power beyond understanding and is a smart and quick thinker on the battlefield suits me

Edited by NerfPaladins06: 8/11/2017 11:53:50 PMI main hunter but would probably be chosen as a defender/sentinel. I've always liked the idea of being a frontlines supporty / protector guy. Also I'm roughly 6 and a half feet and athletically built irl.
-
Though i am a titan in the game i would be alot better as a warlock in real life. I am one of the smatter yypes who would choos a book over a gun.
-
Warlock, I just cannot see myself a loner or a soldier, a scholar and scientist in the field would suit me better
-
I play a titan in game because I enjoy the range of abilities and striker is just fun in pvp. IRL I know I would be a hunter. Not because I'm a loner like many here attribute to themselves, but because I am an adventure seeker through and through. I love being outdoors and adrenaline. I like to hike and mountain bike and all the survival stuff. Other hunter ish traits are that I'm built like spider-man and not quite Captain America. I'm also a good shot with handguns and usually have a knife nearby. My nick name was even dodge. Hell I might have to play more hunter in D2.
-
2 RepliesI prefer the term, "mobile artillery" I mean, that's what you call a Titan that uses hard hitting weapons at range right?
-
3 RepliesHow boring.

3 RepliesWell then, I guess its a good thing that my "Exotic Primary" Desert Tech MDR .308 arrives in 2 weeks! I guess I would be a Hunter, staying out of sight, moving quietly and then popping some domes.
