You put up a good fight, but Activision announced that D2's preorders outnumber those of D1.

No matter what people try to say about it, activision is going to make money on this thing. There are a lot of people out there exposed to the game, a lot of video game players in general, and it's not like bungie had to break the bank to release content they probably had 85% done already. Arguing over this is dumb, it will be a success overall financially. How successful over time is in question, bungie's brand and reputation is getting walked all over.. But this one is going to work out well for everyone.

Doesn't really matter. If someonr wants to preorder they do. If not they don't.
-
Lmao. You fanboys and haters will fight over anything. Preorders? Really? Who gives a shit.
-
2 RepliesDoes it really matter anyway? The last thing I'll be thinking about when I'm shooting aliens faces on September 6th is Activision's share price and the current sales figures for D2. I'll let Bungie worry about that shit. I'm an gamer after all. Not a shareholder.
-
Trolling alert I want the game so I will spend my money however I want, if people have different views that's fine.
-
I did not pre order
-
You believe everything you read on the internet??
-
3 RepliesCare to share the actual numbers?
-
I don't believe this information.
-
2 RepliesI pre ordered and no there's nothing anyone can say or do to change my mind. In fact, the more they try and complain, the more sure I am of my pre order.
-
1 ReplyDo they count the ones that have been cancelled?
-
Well firstly that shouldn't be surprising if it's real. Since destiny earned so many fans through its 3 year period u would expect a lot more pre orders compared to before D1 since no one knew what it would be like and it was a new franchise. However, I doubt it's real tho since the beta was complete crap. It was basically a blanket nerf to the game.
-
29 RepliesAnd why would you not believe them? I mean, it's not like they ever lied or spinned data to make it look like something it's not. No company ever did that, right?
-
1 ReplyElsewhere in the news 63,000 people have canceled their orders for the Tesla Model 3. :)
-
Wow apparently everyone is an expert in business studies.
-
14 RepliesThe people that have lost are the entire community, because you've paid for content that has not yet been delivered, leaving no incentive for Bungie to go the extra mile to earn your money. After three years of Destiny, haven't you learned about "the carrot and the stick".
-
and in current news a man just exploded the Sun with his thumb. people can say anything they want, that doesn't make it true. but hey, why would a company lie to make their product sound better, i mean, clearly they will only tell the truth right?
-
It's not war. a) Pre-ordering doesn't mean jack. I almost never pre-order, because I can buy online anytime I want. When D1 came out I think it was more popular to buy the cd's. b) I have to think that alot of us on the forums want to see the game fixed. We only get one chance to vote and that's when we dish out the $$$. If you are happy with the beta and that you excited then by all means preorder. I think if the beta had shown better the pre-orders when have been much higher.

Source link? I'm lazy and don't wanna look. Pls

35 RepliesEdited by RavenousLD3341: 8/4/2017 1:07:44 PMI can't independently verify that yet. Of course Activi$ion would say that. The most recent Data I have is from 6-17. Destiny 2 (PS4) 129,447 Destiny 2 (XOne) 120,994 Source http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders/ 12 weeks to launch. Looking at D1 13 weeks to launch... 6-14-2014 Destiny (PS4) 446,458 Destiny (XOne) 374,829 Source http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders/41805/USA/ So currently (based on US sales alone) they aren't telling the truth.
This is like religious people saying god is real because the bible said so.
I enjoyed Destiny 1. And judging from what I saw in the beta, i will enjoy Destiny 2. I buy games for enjoyment, I enjoyed D1 and if i enjoy D2 HALF AS MUCH, this game will keep me happy.
-
My friend said to me "Do not pre-order its stupid" I didnt preorder. My friend sees the D2 trailer, and says, "This is so cool, im pre-ordering." I laugh
-
Do realize that the pool of people who knew about Destiny was small. Now it's a pool of 10 million us players of Destiny. Not including PC or new exposures via beta.

4 RepliesLet me ask a question since it has turned into a death match over who can justify their early purchase of the game or not . If I do not preorder and wait to spend my money after the reviews are in and then pick it up at discount or not at all; am I wrong? Something I have learned from experience is that if you purchase the item at full price and then discover that it is garbage , you cannot recoup your loss completely and only the company wins outright. Where do you stand at that point . What will be your argument? Anyone that has available funds should spend their money exactly how they choose to. I'm sure they've earned it. I think the main reason people preorder is because they want to hit the ground first which I understand . The thing with this game however is that you can be 2 or 3 months behind and still catch up to the Destiny 2 day one players. Always remember , you can only say I told you so from a position of positive leverage and not from "it should have been" I will wait to purchase after I see the player reviews . They are the only ones that actually matter.

Im actually very happy with my returns

Just remind them that its just a beta. Not the final product.
