Here's your shot, get this bitch trending!
The point of this poll isn't to review the system as it relates to the full release. It's to hear current impressions post the BETA.

I'm not surprised by this poll. It's essentially dead even for those liking the new vs old. I would bet those liking the old are mostly pve players and those liking the new are pvp. I like the old system better for variety in pve. However I hated how the old system in pvp more often than not revolved around a dominant secondary or a particular primary. I'm willing to give this new system a chance but just increase power ammo drops in pve. We only saw a selected handful of primary weapons and if there is enough variety and specialization in the new primary weapons (legendary and exotics and mods) then most should be happy. Just try it out.

4 RepliesHalo players will know. Rockets, sniper, grenade launcher, shotgun and fusion rifle basically the Rail gun are power weapons=heavy

1 ReplyI'm torn. For PvE I like the old system. For PvP I like the new system. I'm hoping they find some unique ways to make having two primary weapons interesting in PvE. One of them simply having an elemental burn really isn't sufficient, and from the Beta the lack of variety just isn't as fun, and seems like a lack of options and diversity when it comes to creating strikes and raid encounters. For PvP I love the refocus on primary gun-play and not getting sniped every other kill. Going back to D1 has been infuriating due to the number of people who just want to camp the back of every map with icebreaker. My only request for this is to turn the damage back up on primary weapons. Now that we don't have to worry about icebreaker and sticky nades as much it would be great to actually get to use our primary weapons without having to team-shoot everyone. Seriously, I spent more time chasing my fleeing opponents around the map then I did actually scoring damage due to the slow time to kill. The nerf to primary damage was completely unnecessary.

32 RepliesLet me give you my opinion. It is similar to what a different person also said in this thread, with some tweaks. The largest issue I have with the new weapon system is its not the same system I've been using and enjoying for 3 years, and I do not like the idea of spending the next 3 years using only a primary. It's a boring and slow concept no matter how you look at it. There's no way you see 2 primaries as being more fun than a primary and special. Now another point. I bought Destiny and put around 3000 hours of game time into for one reason, and one reason only. No, ur wasn't because it was fun, or at least not directly. No, it wasn't because of friends or memories I made along the way, or at least not directly. I put as much game time into Destiny as I did simply because it was like no game that I've ever played before. It was unique and fresh and orginal. When I think D1, I think supers and jumps and invisibility and decent grenades and a whole bunch of other stuff that all combines into one thought: I'm a god damn mothafukin' space wizard. That is what BNG sold me on, and that's what I got. But Destiny 2 is on the horizon. And from everything I've seen and played, I've come to the conclusion that though it is called Destiny 2, it is not the sequel to Destiny. It took everything that was unique and fresh and space wizardly about it, and either got rid of it completely or locked it behind absurdly long cooldowns or other such systems, including but not limited to the new weapon system. Will it be an enjoyable game? Most likely, yes. I hope and expect it to be. Will it be a sequel to Destiny 1? Hell to the no. Because Destiny 2 is nothing like Destiny 1. It's just another Halo, where it's fun for a while, until you actually sit back and compare it to other games, and realize how terribly bland it is. Now, don't get confused. I will still be getting D2. I'm a clan leader with a good number of active players in it, not to mention all of my personal friends who will be getting it. Plus, as hopeless as the gameplay appears, the story (while over used and cliche) does have my attention. And while I talk good game about D1, it is by no way a perfect game. Anyone who knows me on these forums can vouch that I've had plenty of bad things to say about D1 and it's current direction (AKA, down). All I'm saying is, D1 has countless major faults, but now that I have played D2, I realize I didn't know just how good I had it until it was less than 2 months away from being gone. See you all in D2. #TitanMasterRace

I think if destiny 1 had the system that destiny 2 has, but destiny 2 changed to the system destiny 1 has people would still be butthurt

1 ReplyI like the balence so I'm not getting killed by a sidearm or sticke nade every 3 seconds but I don't like 2 primary
-
11 RepliesI like it. It's different and allows us to come up with new weapon combinations which can wreck bosses and dominate PvP.
-
It will require significant adjustments to playstyle, and weapon balancing, but it can be done.
-
I personally like the new system better, it feels fresh again which is a good thing after about three years.
-
5 RepliesTerrible question has an indecisive answer, shocker!!
-
I get what ur trying to do but I highly doubt bungie is going to change the weapon system based on this poll. People have been complaining about the current weapon system, d2 is new and im sure bungie wants to see how players like it in the game not just the beta since that was an old build of sorts. Js
-
4 RepliesIt will not change- even if the poll had mostly the top answer, it wouldn't have changed.
-
1 ReplyI love the new weapon system. Was using the kinetic auto rifle, and the full auto elemental pulse in PvP. Both felt really good. As for PvE, I felt that it was fine there too. In the strike, we had each of us using a different elemental primary. When we'd see a shielded enemy, the person with that element, would switch, take care of the shield, and we'd take care of the enemy. Sure Power Ammo was scarce, and ammo ran dry during the boss, but these issues are being addressed.
-
3 RepliesHopefully Bungie tweaked the pve boss fights to reflect the fact that were doing the majority of damage with primaries. If the Inverted Spire is reflective of how Boss fights are evolving it looks like we will be swapping the old "stand in a circle" to dps the boss to "run in a circle" to dps the boss.

-
4 RepliesOne thing I failed to realize is that with the rules of the new classes it's possible to have a rocket launcher primary as long as it's only capable of kinetic damage.
-
8 RepliesI feel like this backfired... more people like the d2 Loadouts
-
16 RepliesLol people are down-voting it because you're clearly showing your bias in the text under the poll. BUNGIE NEEDS TO HEAR HOW MUCH WE HATE THIS
...or if you like it vote I guess...
-
9 RepliesBiased ass poll, gtfo. There is no I dont like it poll
-
3 RepliesThe ONLY difference is they took OHK weapons and made them heavies... ya know the weapons they couldn't balance after three years of trying. I'd rather have balance than excessive amounts of sniper/shoyties running around.
-
16 RepliesSomeone sad that they can't run around with a shotty or sniper all match? Adapt to the changes.
-
6 RepliesI still believe autos could use a little buff, they're still a little weak
-
2 RepliesI just want to be able to buy exotics from Everest trading. Why bungie is this a big deal? I just don't understand
-
1 ReplyD1 system for pve and D2 system for pvp.
-
1 ReplyI love the new weapon system. A lot of times in Destiny 1 I'm switching weapons throughout a strike or something, but now I got 2 primaries I can switch between. Also elementary primaries so already better. The weapon system definitely benefits PvP the most though and for me makes it playable again. I do think Snipers being heavy ammo is a bit weird since they still can't one shot, have barely any ammo and even less AA than D1
