Based on the menus it looks like...
...we're going to be able to use mods to switch the element of our weapons.
...we're going to be able to use shaders on our weapons and ship.
2 things people have been asking for in Destiny for ages, but no everything is terrible and Bungie never listens to us, that's the big takeaway from all this.
EDIT 1: Slugger4489 brought up some more.
Fast travel points, not having to go to orbit between every jump, and guaranteed public events too
EDIT 2: It seems a lot of people here don't understand the point I'm trying to get at. I'm not making any statement about how good or bad I think Destiny 2 will be and I'm not saying people shouldn't voice their concerns. This post is targeted at a very specific mentality that many forum users have held for a long time now and which has been a major contributing factor to these forums becoming as toxic as they are.
This idea that Bungie never listens to us and doesn't care about what we think has to stop. There is so much evidence that they do. Just to name a few things these forums asked for that we got:
- Multiple vault size increases.
- Equitable melee weapons.
- Ways of making old content relevant again (infusion, revamped raids, etc.).
- Private PvP.
- A freaking giant Shank boss. (honestly who would've thought they'd take that one seriously?)
and there has been so much more. But time and time again in the wake of problems impacting the game everyone seems to ignore the positive and pretends that everything is awful and there's no chance for improvement and Bungie is intentionally trying to ruin the game for us and bla blabla blabla.
All I wanted to do was put a spotlight on a couple things I thought Bungie did right by this community in the hopes that maybe some people would see that there are some positive things to talk about, that's all.

I'm surprised no one is talking about the fact that the main villain, Ghaul, looks and sounds like Bane.

I agree with this post. If bungie didn't cater to the player we wouldn't t have had as many nerds in year one. Certain things wouldn't have been removed or made harder to attain in D1 if bungie didn't listen to the player. My hope is gamers going into D2 actually attain skill and grind for things instead of complaining on here about how they can't get the weapon and how it's to powerful. It ruins the game for others.

I like the weapon refinement from D1 to D2. We go from having a staggering amount of different rolls per item, to hard rolls per weapon. This decision must have come from top down usage info in D1, bringing different weapon types to the front over time, nerfing weapon types to push them back, having people primarily use different weapon types throughout the game's life cycle. I would expect the weapons in D2 to look, feel & perform mechanically better & be more interesting as a whole than in D1. Sure there will be no OP Gjallarhorns and whatnot, but no one ever needed to be a near invincible superhero anyway.

2 RepliesYes, Bungie did many things right, but as human nature goes, most of us look for the bad, then the good. Some people are still stuck on the bad. ~TheGreatNike

#1 The fast travel is awesome. #2 Vault size is great. #3 Modding weapons is cool. If they don't remove it in the next expansion. Ways of making old content relevant again. Like that actually works out well. They could use all that time, work, and file size on making gameplay, guns, and maps. I don't care about your dance emotes, I don't care what your warlock is wearing to the strike, or what color ship there flying to there Nancy. Shaders. Do nothing except change colors. When I play Destiny I wan't to #1. Play with friends. #2 Blow stuffs head off like I did with a year one fatebringer, and watch his friends vaporize. Watch a rocket launch into somethings face. Play with gun mechanics, Chop up everything with sword. We had a Giant shank boss strike, and it was trash. I don't play for shaders, emotes, and grim cards. P.S. No one ever says. Thank god you came in with that shader, and emote. We couldn't have defeated the raid without you.

"- A freaking giant Shank boss."
I want a giant Thrall boss next. Get on it Bungie.
-
I been talking about it. :p
-
Each armor piece has its own shader slot too.
-
Shaders for ship? Big deal.

Thanks bro, Yeah they listen to us.. Game makers don't like to give credit to our ideas, but I'm still thankful they listen. I remember being dedicated to WoW back in the day and we were active in the forums and they would listen.. Anyways Thanks Bungie, I have thoroughly enjoyed Destiny1 even though I don't play it anymore because I have done everything and have all the gear:) It's still a cool game. I can hardly wait for part2 so I can start over again, I wish in the future veteran players can transfer their characters, that would honor us....

The fact that some of these idiots are missing your point further strengthens your argument

2 RepliesWow! you mean I can make my loading screen have the same colour scheme as my weapons and armor. Well that setles it then. Sign me up for destiny 2!
Destiny 1 already has a giant shank boss. It's called SABER
"Hey...we changed everything you love....but here are shaders...."

Edited by Talia Sendua: 7/25/2017 11:13:33 AMRight... Some People also didn't noticed that your first weapon perk seems to be changeable because it is also a mod... Maybe I'm wrong with that but it really looks for me like that.

Edited by GX: 7/25/2017 12:06:38 PMmeh its a half step, let me know when they have transmog. #MakeGunplayGreatAgain

1 ReplyFirstly, multiple vault increases?? Multiple?? Secondly, I cannot recall seeing posts demanding ships be a different colour?
-
Solid post sir 👍🏻

10 RepliesI feel like this post is worse than any post you are referring to. Most negative posts come from genuine disappointment. Most positive post come from genuine excitement. This post just comes from pure spite of what other people are talking about.

Thanks for the heads up! Some interesting stuff I didn't know about

1 ReplyYes this is all good but unfortunately it's over shadowed by all the bad. I'm a Destiny fan and can only hope this beta is vastly improved by the release date. I'm not one that bashes on Destiny but this review spells out the problems pretty well. I truly feel sorry for anyone who mains a hunter because they are really bad. I main a Warlock:) http://planetdestiny.com/beta-concluding-thoughts/

6 RepliesYay, loads of shaders for guns and ships. Oh my god the guns are gonna look so sick and my loading screen will be savage. I'm defo preordering Destiny 2 now because let's face it, €100 for new shader infused guns(which are less effective than D1) and more glamorous loading screens(who gives a fuck) are totally worth it. Let's just ask for shaders for our SUPERS now and I'll pay double.

I think everyone is aware, we're just not super pumped about it because It's not really that big of a deal to alot of us. Yes it's cool, but not game changing in any way. Seems like almost a standard option in most shooters these days.
-
2 RepliesDon't get me wrong I like the beta but I honestly feel like I'm just playing a dumbed-down version of Destiny 1
-
3 RepliesWho asked for weapon mods and shaders on weapons?
-
The salt is real...

5 RepliesI am sure that shaders on weapons and ships are great but I would much rather have had effective weapons even if they looked a little battered and worn Umm I wonder if Eververse will sell us shaders for those items ?
