i feel sorry for you, considering it takes about an hour and a half to run through everything the beta has to offer.
edit: y'all. i'm not complaining about how much content is in the beta. that's not what the post is about.

3 RepliesWell, I DID take the day off, and played the whole day as a hunter, went wayyyyyyyyyyyy off track during the strike and found some very, very cool stuff to play around in(as well as some areas of the map that were not quite finished yet and were just weird :) ), along with some bad boy Vex ultras to shoot up who were guarding some of those "jump rings" or whatever they're called, but there was a whole track of them to use. BUT, it was the crucible that ate up the most of my time: sussing out the best spots on the map for approach to the objective, where to snipe, best routes to flank someone, which weapons worked best in what situations... Played enough to collect all the armor pieces from the crucible and the strike, loving trying out the new weapons (which handle damn nice; I made some sweet kill shots with the scout rifle, Does Not Compute). The game looks beautiful, plays well, and most importantly: FEELS like Destiny, which is what I was expecting. :)

Disappointing

Bro I've played 25+ rounds of quickplay and competitive and I am just now getting to where I can predict where people will go, best places to flank someone, best guns for each map, etc. PvE wise, there isn't a lot of content, but I don't want there to be... I want to see that in September. The PvP feels better than it has since D1 beta, and with a few slight changes to PvE, this could be the best game I have ever played

Sounds like Vanilla Destiny to me!

2 RepliesTakes about 20 to do both crucible matches, 25 for the first story mission if you don't try to speed through it, and another 20 for the strike. That's an hour and five minutes, but that's not the full experience, there are still 5 more subclasses to try out and lots of weapons, then there is some of the strike area to explore and you can probably even play the strike at least once on each class before getting too bored of all the different weapons and abilities to go through it again.

Wow. I didn't take time off, but thanks for letting everyone know how superior you need to make yourself feel by pitying people who aren't you. You made a public service announcement for the board: OP is sanctimonious douche, with little to contribute beyond insecurity and a sense of self-worth that is contingent upon making others feel smaller. . To those that "took the day off": I don't really care one way or another. But I guess if you took some personal time to enjoy with your friends exploring the hope of a new game that was fun but otherwise has gotten stale, well good on ya', I guess. Now everybody (including me) -- Go outside and play!

2 RepliesWorking from home has it's advantages :D But, this is a beta so I wasn't expecting a lot of content TBH. I was more interested in game play, little nuance changes, weapons, etc. One odd thing I REALLY didn't like was the button layout. I'm used to L1/R1 for aim/shoot but now it's L2/R2. I dunno...it's a little thing but it kind of irritates me. Case in point...playing Countdown and bomb needed to be disabled. Three of them left and all huddled around the bomb. Enter me, with a rocket launcher and ONE rocket. Should've easily killed all three in one blast BUT, instead of shooting, I tried to mid-air melee one of them. Needless to say I died...and raged a bit. All the complaints about bullet sponges should, hopefully, be resolved whenever the game is released.....hopefully.

I took time off for game release. Not the beta
-
5 RepliesAnd you are who that anyone would care?? LMAO get a life princess
-
I didn't just take time off I quit for this beta. Beta is love, beta is life.
-
I don't understand why so many people are triggered by what the op said. He simply said he feels sorry for people who took off. Why? Because there isn't much to do compared to D1 beta. That being said, it's clearly been listed as to what is in the beta. So the small amount of content should come as no surprise to anyone that has primary school reading comprehension abilities.
-
If I wanted to take time off for the beta that would be none of your business. Maybe I haven't taken a day off in 3 years, maybe I needed a break. Why should you even care?... that being said I didn't take time off
-
Op you're an idiot. Why does it bother you that other people may have taken time off work to play this. I'm sure if they are sat at home with a day off work, they don't need you to feel sorry for them. It's clear you are obviously jealous, and for that I feel sorry for you. Plus there is more than 90 mins of content like you state. There are 6 subclasses to try and master. Oh but there are only two maps I hear you say? Yes but most of us spend 3 days playing trials on the same map with one subclass. I played for 5 hours last night and only played the sentinal and arcstrider.
-
You feel sorry for people because they didn't work and instead played a video game? Sounds like you are a a real fun person to be around lol
-
It sure sounds like you are complaining
-
2 RepliesSo I just wanted to make sure--the beta consists of the first story mission, that Vex strike, the control map and the countdown map and that's all right? I just don't want to miss out on anything.
-
I remember back to D1 beta - we had the tower, vault, all of the Cosmodrome, and even some Crucible. It kept you busy for the entire beta period. Granted no progress made in the beta carried forward, but it was fun and drove a desire for more content. I can see where the OP is coming from. I created all 3 characters, played the strike and both Crucible modes last night. I realize this is a beta and is mainly to help Bungie test out loads on the back end servers, but I did expect there to be a little more content to play. One explorable area would have been nice and kept people playing longer. As is, I'm not sure how much more time I'm going to invest in the beta.
i feel sorry for you, considering it takes about an hour and a half to run through everything the beta has to offer. edit: y'all. i'm not complaining about how much content is in the beta. that's not what the post is about.
Took off the whole week. Love the beta and now I have the rest of the time to NOT work! Winwin

Shame on people who find different things to be important to them right? It's as if some who hates a particular holiday shaming someone who loves that holiday and took work off for it.
-
5 RepliesIt's a beta. It's a test to show the developers what they need to improve. Get over it.
-
It is Destiny. How many times have you played the same strike or map.? My point exactly.
-
I will never understand taking a day off for a demo, er i mean beta. Lol
-
1 ReplyEh, don't much care what others do with there time. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone or impact me who cares.
-
3 Repliesall the salty ones are the ones who took off work and regret it
-
4 RepliesHere is the key word; BETA. Meaning it is there to test the servers, and get stuff buffed, nerfed, or fixed before the main game ships.

I took a day off because i get back from vacation the 22nd and no way im missing my only day to a night shift
