So I'm playing Pokemon platinum with a semi competitive team and I'm now just about to face the elite four. Here it is ( or what it will be if I get the TMs and stuff)
Torterra, attack sweeper based
Wood hammer
Earthquake
Synthesis
Swords dance
Staraptor, just as you would
Roost
Brave bird
Close combat
Quick attack (not sure)
Jirachi, defensive sweeper
Cosmic power
Psychic
Flash cannon
Rest
Manaphy, sp. attack sweeper
Tail glow
Surf
Ice beam
-not sure yet (wanted baton pass)
Room (heat) sp. attack based
Thunderbolt
Shadowball
Overheat
Confuse Ray (also not sure)
And that's it, still don't have a 6th Pokemon so I'm open to suggestions for one, mainly just used the slot for a hm slave so far
So tell me what you think, any improvements or anything
Thanks

7 RepliesWas I the only person who actively tried to not use legendaries growing up? Jirachi and Manaphy? Yikes.. the cute ones at that. No Giratina?! I know you can't really get the other 2 dragons until you go back to the mountain with both corresponding stones (and possibly after the E4).

Try Magikarp

I know this is just for the e4, but I wouldnt have a sweeping torterra, make him a tank with some more defensive moves, mainly an attack/spatk lowering move. Id also suggest getting a dedicated wall, such as slowbro, chansey or anyone with high defenses and hp

1 ReplyLol "semi-competitiv" team for the E4? Hell I've done it with a Lv.70 Infernape, because that was basically the only I've used in that playthrough xD

1 ReplyWhat are the Elite 4 theme types?
-
Remember to stack your PP up's, Ultra Potions and Max Revives.

Here is a better team Roserade Infernape Gyarados? Garchomp Giratina Starraptor/ Rampardos/ Electivire/ etc.

Tmw no Charizard

2 RepliesTake those legendaries out and face an like a real man. Not that those are anything special.

1 ReplyNo Dragonite? Pfft, go back to Trainer School, ya newb.
It depends mostly who you send out first and/or your luck with landing critical hits. Honestly, I'd say you're good so long as you switch out your mons respectively to your opponent. That is, of course, if your team is in the 60-70 level range. Also, stack up on a lot of items to heal and recover pp. You'll only really have trouble with Cynthia and her team since as you get closer to her the pokemon you fight increase in levels up to 60. That and that her Garchomp is a killer.
