The first mission in D2 is about when the the cabal were attacking the Tower and the events leading to our guardian's light being sealed and weapons being destroyed.
1. As the events go, we should have the subclasses from D1 during that mission, and that mission alone due to the fact that we have not yet set out to reforge our light into the new abilities.
-
It was most likely to show off the new stuff we have in the game. We most likely will not have this when it Launches.
-
Actually, I'm fairly sure we won't have ANY abilities in that mission when D2 releases.
-
1 ReplyThe game isn't out yet and you are already saying we should have our sub classes in the first mission, smh

2 RepliesEdited by Optimus96: 6/30/2017 2:40:01 AMYou do know that at E3 and at the reveal, everyone was at max level (20) and light (200)? We are not going to start with the new abilites, weapons, and armor. Most likely, we will have common gear again with the basic abilites unlocked (jump, melee, ect.) - just like the beginning of D1.

Edited by Dredgen Kierro: 6/30/2017 2:01:34 AMThe BETA will likely have everything unlocked at first mission to show off the new powers. In the full game, we probably don't get our new powers till the last story mission of the first sandbox area. Everything up to that point will be regular FPS, with limited abilities. The BETA will give us everything, so we can plan out our full game loadouts.
-
2 RepliesI'm honestly hoping they give us at least one story mission in D2 where we can play with our D1 weapons and powers before saying goodbye. Unlikely they'd import all 500+ weapons/armor into the new engine, just for that, but still.
-
More likely than not, the final game will only have Voidwalker/Gunslinger/Striker available at first. The inclusion of it in the BETA is likely just to let us try it out.
-
They did say in the reveal that there is stuff that happens leading up to Homecoming.
-
When the dislike button just isn't enough....
-
That makes sense so you know it definitely won't be making its way into the game.
-
1 ReplyBut its like the titian guy was using one....o wait he did.

5 RepliesAs SmallerShrub said:
I believe this was just an E3 thing to showcase the supers, I doubt homecoming will have these abilities available
-
3 RepliesI already know your a salty hunter complaining about not being able to tether during that mission since you don't know how to pve. And those cabal are gonna tear you a new one.
-
More than likely it was just an in-house build meant to give the users a taste of the subclasses outside of the Strike and PVP. Don't hold me to that, but I'm sticking with that until the full game releases.

5 RepliesI am under the impression that this takes place years after d1... that our guardians are gone. Because they did say we will things in honor of are guardians in the game. The guardians that paved the way to the current times.
-
Another idea is maybe this. Our guardian is a legend at this point in the storyline. Supers are up guardians to make and wield and shape and use. Maybe the opening training/tutorial sequence would be our guardian selecting a new power that Zavala/Ikora/Cayde wants us to attempt to use. It would give us a reason to have one of the new abilities when the Homecoming mission kicks off.
-
They have you set with 200 light gear. Once d2 releases, that won't be the case, and the same will probably go with having access to the powerful abilities. The first mission will probably force you to use voidwalker, gunslinger, and striker like vanilla destiny did.
-
Or maybe they did that in the demo as a convenient way to showcase the new subclasses🤷🏼♂️
-
Well so far all we have seen is players at level 20 that have at least 1 skill tree completed so we have no idea how it will play out at level 1, just saying.
-
We will probably have Vwalker, gunslinger , and fist in homecoming. The reveal stream wasnt showing exactly how it will be since I know we for sure wont have all those legendarys! So thus we will have d1 subclasses
-
Its just a Demo.
-
2 RepliesSorry, but that mission will be cut and sold in future dlc.
-
Wow, that's the best you got? Just wow
-
Maybe they've acquired those powers before the events of the game
-
You haven't seen it all, shut it.
