Bungie..., it's clear the hardware (Xbox One X)* can do 4K. So, you must be "evaluating" your software to do 4K. Or, maybe it's that Sony/Nvidia partnership that's getting in the way....

16 RepliesIf you want 4K or "6K" why are you playing on a console?
-
4 RepliesNaturally, how well it sticks to that resolution is another thing entirely. Taken straight from one of articles you linked, which says well it can achieve almost 6K it's doing a piss poor job at maintaining it. Perhaps you should read the articles you link and maybe learn about the subject before attempting to start a console war.
-
Titanfall could run at 12K, still wouldn't play it. The people complaining about fps and res need to get on PC, like yesterday. Consoles are still limited in what they can achieve. Nothing is free or automatic, gain some, lose some. Have you seen what Halo looks like lately? To keep up all those stats that seem so important to some, consoles have to constantly readjust what's in focus/most important depending on what's happening on screen. Notice those fuzzy ai in the back? There weren't close enough to matter. Notice the plastic look and feel of everything? Well too bad but you are running smooth as butter in those cardboard environment ;( I might have 99 problems with the game but its looks ain't one. Destiny is really beautiful with all those textures, lighting, details. Looks and feels great. The art of Bungie is one thing I really appreciate.
-
Destiny unlike other games has a lot running at the same time, Destiny 2 even more since you don't need to go to orbit anymore.

8 RepliesEdited by Vulcan_Blitz: 6/25/2017 11:54:57 PMBungie is still using the same engine and coding that they used for xbox 360 and ps3 to make D2. Faux 4K@30fps for both XXXXbox oneXXXX and Ps4Pro.
-
So nobody reads or listens when watching a video? The article states that it can hit 6k using all 12gb of RAM. With the 9gb of RAM it's hits 4k in most parts of the game. Even tho the games engine isn't a very demanding game.

5 RepliesEdited by Splif daddy Bane: 6/26/2017 7:53:34 PMYeah we know Sony is a garbage company, it's honestly pathetic how anti gamer they are and ponies just eat their garbage up.
peace is a lie, there is only passion Through passion I gain strength Through strength I gain power Through power I gain victory Through victory my chains are broken
1 ReplyTitanfall 2 really isn't a very demanding game, Source Engine in general is real easy on hardware.

Edited by ShmeeGrim: 6/26/2017 4:03:58 PMAgain with this ridiculous conspiracy theory?
-
2 RepliesWe all know the ONLY reason is that bungie has their heads so far up Activisions rear, who have their heads shoved so far up Sonys rear, that theyre doing everything they can to screw over half their customer base because of greed and not caring about their customers
-
1 ReplyEdited by Dzho: 6/26/2017 5:23:05 AMI can run ff7 at 9k at 240 fps. You can't compare games. Every game has different optimization. Destiny is processor heavy according to bungie. TF2 and CoD aren't. Oh but destiny should be able to run 4k on Xbox one x.
-
Yep, More and more devs hitting very impressive benchmarks. X1X deserves to run the Destiny 2 PC code.

So did you just read the titles & skip the articles themselves?
-
15 RepliesITS BECAUSE THE DESTINY GAME ENGINE OS OPTIMIZED TO SHIT! Theyve even admitted that the game engine sucks! It was desgined for ps3 and xb360, and hasnt been updated since. Shame on you bungie!
-
5 RepliesIs there a 6k tv?
-
6 RepliesI don't get it. Where at you getting at this post? I'm not attacking you, but I mean if Xbox one X is claiming to be the best console to ever be released (which it is), then why do you need this whole 6k thing to assure yourself? I think anyone would be surprised if D2 ran under 4k.
-
When people use Sony being Bungie's partner for in-game exclusives as an excuse to complain about anything.

1 ReplyThis post confuses me. Of course it's gonna be 4K. The console doesn't come out until post launch of d2 so I'm sure Bungie has many better things to do than to let everyone know that Xbox one x can obviously do 4K +. You're acting like they confirmed that it wasn't capable.
-
5 RepliesAnd by 6k in assuming they mean with 15 fps cuz there's no way there selling a machine capable of 6K for 500
-
is not the software, there is too much 3D poligons, like the modelers left too much garbage around, so each instance is overloaded in un used geometric...
-
But can it get over 30fps?
-
Why do ppl only hear what they want to hear? Of course the One X is gonna be 4K. They said that because right now they are concentrating all of their efforts on already existing platforms. Why waste time on the One X now when it doesn't even release until 2 1/2 months after D2 drops?
-
What frame rate does it run at?
-
Edited by dnrobs: 6/25/2017 9:26:23 PMInteresting. I'm sure it will look beautiful after the patch.
