Why do you Americans put laugh tracks in your programs? Is the writing so bad that it cannot stand on its own?
Are Americans incapable of finding humour without an ear splitting donkey-like laugh from a disembodied crowd of people?
Do Americas really laugh so rudely or is it because that audience is getting paid?
So frustrating, I know what's funny. Let me laugh when I want to, don't try to help me with your cheap tricks.
Seriously, why are American sitcoms so awful?
Also, where are the people of colour? I thought you guys were a melting pot of culture?

2 RepliesAren't most sitcoms awful? We made Seinfeld. Most are terrible, though. There are YouTube videos of the Big Bang Theory without the laugh track. It's terrible.

1 ReplySitcoms are never good. Also many of those laugh tracks are from the 50's, so you're just hearing dead people laughing over and over again.
-
7 RepliesNo sane, intelligent person watches those. Though there are some good quality shows with laugh tracks (e.g. M*A*S*H, Cheers, Seinfeld, etc)

2 RepliesMost sitcoms have laughter tracks. Non-American ones too. Old ones. Classic ones. Only Fools and Horses Fawlty Towers Keeping Up Appearances The IT Crowd They have laughter tracks. And they're still -blam!-ing funny.

Most laugh tracks were recorded decades ago. That's right, you're listening to dead people laugh. Have a nice day.
-
American sitcoms aren't they only ones that utilize laugh tracks.

America is the melting pot. Just because you see lack of color, that isn't substantial evidence to say otherwise. You have to look at the majority, that being white by somewhere around 70% (to lazy to google exact number.) So you advertise to the majority audience. It's marketing. Every country does it. It's how you sell more product.
