Going off the promotional videos for D2, particularly those that show interaction between the guardian and ghaul, can we safely assume the canon guardian from D1 is a male Titan? I mean he was the one shown in the scene interacting with ghaul and also protecting the ghost. Presumably this is the cutscenes at the end of the homecoming mission where we all lose our light. That mission includes a portion where Amanda Holiday references us as being the guardian zavala always talks about. For that guardian then to be shown as a male Titan by bungie makes him seem like the canon one.

No. There is no "canon guardian". It's whoever we want it to be; Hunter, Warlock, or Titan. The reason that a Titan was featured in that scene is because that specific class is pretty much the "poster class" for Destiny 2. In Destiny 1, the "poster class" that was featured the most in promos and trailers were the Hunters.

2 RepliesIts just whatever you chose to be. It could be a female warlock.

4 RepliesI thought they only shot guardians out of a cannon in the circus.

That's just the class and gender that the person generating the game footage chose to play as.

There is no canon Guardian class. This is about YOUR STORY Whichever class you picked is a part of YOUR STORY.

That was a cutscene. Since it's a cutscene the class you are playing as is the class that you will see in the cutscene. They just used a Titan for that one, but they could use any class really. Bungie has a "poster class" for each expansion/Game release. In this case it was Titans. When D1 was being released Hunters were the poster class

It will show whatever guardian you have in the cutscenes.

Personally I don't think so. It's just the class they want to promote IMO.
