I'm posting this here because it's really depressing reading countless posts bitching about Destiny 2 when almost no one has actually played it yet.
I just posted this reply elsewhere, repeating it here.
I've tried to explain in countless posts that D2 is not D1. Yes, it's still very much Destiny, but it's also very much a new game and for everyone that keep judging it and shitting on it based off presumptions from D1 experiences with no actual idea what it is they're bitching about is not only pointless, it's detrimental to the new game.
None of you are even giving the new systems a chance, you're just saying "oh it sucks" without any first-hand experience of what it is you're all trying to ruin before ever knowing what it is.
The new weapon system is different. I get that makes people apprehensive, but it was literally my favorite thing I experienced with D2.
The updated subclasses take the ones we know and love and makes them fresh and exciting again, particularly with the new defensive/support abilities.
The Cabal are not the Cabal we've fought the past 3 years. Anyone expecting the same phalanx walls is in for a shock.
The Exotics from what I saw feel Exotic again.
The game is beautiful.
The levels are large.
There are way more enemies on screen.
The boss fights are dynamic and not D1 bullet sponges.
And maybe you won't agree, maybe you'll hate some or all of it, but right now if you haven't played it, you don't know. So it's one thing to post apprehension, but the posts asking for change or proposing "compromise"... -blam!-.
We've asked for 3 years for the game we all hope D2 can be, at least give it and the changes Bungie have made a -blam!-ing chance before ripping it apart.
-
I agree, but it's funny that most of the people trashing it will still buy it
-
Pre order here.
-
Thank you so much for having common sense. Wish more people would exercise this ability.
-
D2 looks to be really refreshing. The changes to the sounds from jumping, reloading, shots fired etc are sounding nice to me. Visually the game is still top notch imo. Gunplay fantastic. I have high hopes of exploring the new worlds slowly to truly immerse myself into such a great universe.

2 RepliesI'm going to give it a chance but the thing I don't understand pvp wise looking in to the future is if rockets and shotguns are both within power ammo class of weapons why in the world would anyone chose shotgun over rocket? In any situation I could ohk you with my rocket from much a greater distance

1 ReplyEdited by : ^ ): 5/26/2017 8:23:17 PMWe actually agree for once, sort of. I have slight disagreements with your post, but your sentiment is agreeable. Sequels are ALWAYS supposed to be similar. That's why they're sequels lol. However, I have real skepticism for D2 from what I saw and to say it's wrong to critique what we saw is a bit daft. ( I know you're talking about the general vitriol that this community spits out, but I've noticed that some people feel that's not even okay to critique Bungie or Destiny. ) *Also, it's hard to flat out give Bungie a chance after all the shit they pulled in Destiny 1. You honestly can't say Bungie has done the best job on Destiny. They've lied to us. They've manipulated us. If you sit there and fanboy over the game, you end up forgetting the fact that Bungie has been playing you for 3 years.
-
2 RepliesI'd rather see what mistakes they've rectified from Destiny to Destiny 2 than blindly hate on it because it didn't have a story or the loot was terrible. Bungie has come a long way since then. So I'm giving them another chance and so far from what I've seen.. It looks pretty awesome.
-
But don't you know that this is what the bungie fourms are built on. Salt and tears and assumptions. If people cant come here and bitch about the game or the game they have not even played yet their life is not complete
-
It's Destiny, but all new. What's not to love? Don't like it, don't buy it. Pre ordered already and don't like it? That's you fault. Don't diss it, buy it and continue to diss it. Just fuk off and play something else. We don't need your unconstructive critiscm.
-
3 RepliesHaters will always be haters. Even when you give them everything they want or try your hardest to appease them, they will still hate on something
-
6 Repliesmario shouldnt have been in super mario bros 2 and 3 those games are just reskins of the first one :eyeroll:
-
Lol, all the people on here bitching about it will be the same people who sink 1500 hours plus into it over the next couple of years. They will be the same people who complain bitterly no mater what changes are made. That's just the way it goes mate, ignore it.
-
2 RepliesAre you daft, man? You can't possibly expect people to know what they are talking about before they bitch about it on the Internet!
-
Save your breath sols. If people want to be shitty they are not worth convincing. There are more than enough guardians who love the game that deserve the effort.
-
I totally agree with this^

I'm not really sure what people were expecting from the D2 gameplay reveal. It's a sequel, how different really was it expected to be? Not only that but we still hardly know anything besides what we saw, and what we did see was: 1. A story mission that was far more cinematic and story driven than anything in D1. 2. A strike mission that was quite expansive featuring interesting encounters and an engaging boss 3. A new PvP game mode, which admittedly is basically still Destiny PvP, but how much do we really expect to change here gameplay wise. I think the game is looking great, and needless to say if you enjoyed D1 you'll enjoy D2 just as much or more. And if not, then why would you still be here after 3 years.
-
I think d2 looks awesome taking destiny with all of its bugs and making it better with more detail more armor more guns more stuff in general if you complainers out there want something NEW destiny 2 isn't for you, I was always hoping destiny would get fixed and the journey would continue to like 1000 light lol. think its gonne be sick.

1 ReplyEvery crybaby complaining about P2P should read the weekly update.
-
1 ReplyI find it amusing how many rant about wanting a "NEW" game. But without actually playing the new game, seeing a sneak peek reveal event and watching various YouTube vids about this new game, still rant about how "different" it is. IMO it's like sushi, how could one claim they don't like if they never tried it. I find these are the same people who are easily swayed into anything.

There is a beta. I'm preordering because Bungie has satisfied me for almost 3 years with D1. Even though stuff was cut back, and we had countless problems and debates on how the game should be and D1's lack of content, I still played with friends. One of the reasons to play destiny is to interact with others and that's what makes the game great. That's when it truly is at its best. If I don't like the beta, I'll cancel my pre-order.
-
I agree with you 100 percent I watched the revel to not be blown away but to see if bungie actually was listening to the community and to my surprise they did. I love how they made the new weapon system now for load outs it isn't let me equip the same 3 weapon everyone uses
-
6 RepliesThey want us to prepurchase. They want us to buy stuff for silver aka microtransactions. They want us to be amazed and buy DLC. That's ok, but they have to deliver, because they want credit! In the last two and a half year Inlearned I have to be patient and wait two year to get my moneys worth. Destiny in it's current state is worth 60€. Vanilla was more or less a content free demo. Destiny 2 may be great in a year or two, when they finally invest in dedicated PvP servers.

53 RepliesEdited by Octopus: 5/26/2017 11:59:47 AMI know people don't like D2 being called a reskin and point on D2 being a sequel and therefor being similar to what we have, but STILL... no new enemy races no new playable races no new supers hell, what i saw so far everything was NOTHING but EXACTLY the same as D1! same supers, but reskinned same shield cabal, but reskinned the mission of the gameplay reveal trailer looked exactly the same as the first TTK mission, this time just with cabal...explosions, run to A, shoot, move on to B, shoot... saw the strike gameplay, same as ever! a bullet sponge boss minotaur (not like we hadn't this already a 1000 times by PoE/CoE, final D1 story mission, Eye of the gatekeeper, and so on) staying in the center, adds spam, burning ground... hell, even the emote for each class was EXACTLY the -blam!-ing same! (as seen in strike, titan wave!) style EXACTLY the same how to stay positive? as one who's not as easy to hyped as all the fanboy minions i can't express how disappointed i am...i wanted to see new enemies, new playable races, new supers, more of new stuff! but so far my feeling tells me that the only great thing will be the first gaming time again, when exploring said new areas, but then just get bored by them as quick as happened in D1...sure, brandnew always is great, so was even venus first time, but does anyone still spend much time there? i still want to believe that everything will be better, but so far bungievision proved to be nothing, but greedy cashgrabbers, most income with lowest effort... will there be more chat-options? like text-chat for zone/area, friends, clan, world, like defiance had f.e.? are the areas fully open this time with having a ton of players wandering the planets the same time? is there finally more life on the planets, animals, etc, unlike destiny 1's dead, empty, boring worlds? do we have to farm for stuff already obtained over and over again, because made obsolete just to bring it back? all these question remain unanswered for now for sure...but how great are the chances that this time they get it right? it hasn't only to do with being negative, but with a gaming company that made huge promises pre D1 that they never fulfilled! and sure there are many that hope D2 will finally become the game where we get the stuff promised years before...but will D2 be that game? no one knows, but nevertheless there are many reasons for ppl being sceptical....the more as what was shown in the reveal was not even close to be amused a bit for some being with this game since beta and before, fooled by false promises... the story, one D1 never had...cabal attack, destroys us and we fight back...really? that's it? to me sounds totally lame as fkc! nowhere near to the AMAZING story that Joe Staten was believed to have created, with it's unpredictable turns, intrigues and a human's messias that turns out to be evil... idk sols, i would love to share your opinion, being more hopeful, but i am not, because unlike you i'm not brownnoser and never forget the fake b**** moves by bungie! if they ever proved anything, than that the only thing they care about is cashgrab and in no way being a humble company...sure, it's all about business, but there are still companies that do business with a less greedy attitude...not having charities of which i believe they are fake! when at the same time they exclude ppl that bought their game from activities that came with vanilla game, just to be forced to buy dlc to be able to keep playing them, such as IB, NF's, different gamemodes like on pvp or ToO...nor does a saint company that support charities milk the fkc out of its gamers pockets by putting RNG on eververse or support paid account recoveries or carries! Sure, we'll have to wait for the final product, but anyone with a bit brain should not put expectations too high...what's even more sad, when it's a game that easily has the best gameplay EVER! and could be one of the best games ever too...however, beta time will tell...
-
3 RepliesThe Inverted Strike that was shown... large levels... Half of it was just running to the next area, and 80% of the area was unused with a small amount of condense enemies. But then the boss is in a confined room. Which is going to suck when burns are active :-) But over all most of this is going to get nerfed due to pvp. The Minigun wrecked... will be complained about. Sunspot HC has a tracking type perk similar to Thorn but no DoT. Will get nerfed.

Edited by Mgamer GHz: 5/26/2017 7:41:30 PMJust my opinion. I'm going to get the game, play the beta, and pretty sure I will enjoy it. It does look new and exciting, but at the same time so does a DLC, and to a certain extent, this looks like an XL DLC. Nothing is really that "new", just seems more of the same, reworked and better than D1. A few things for me would justify calling it D2 is a new element/subclass. like a animal, nature, or Dark subclass, maybe even water or wind. Or maybe even a New UI that's doesn't look like D1. Just something major in regards to game and lore that we didn't have in D1. otherwise this just feels like Destiny 1 version2. The new weapon system look interesting and I look forward to the matchmaking for end game content. I don't care about the networking for PVP - as long as they try to reduce lag (which they are trying to do). I don't care About 60FPS - destiny plays fine at 30FPS. Maybe there's more news/content to come, or maybe the game will feel like D2 after all the DLC come out. regardless I'm looking forward to sept 8 and I'm pretty sure you guys are to

You just gotta let those people do what they do. These forums will be the same no matter what Bungie does. Just play the game and don't worry about anyone else. Their opinion doesn't affect your connection to the game.
