This update isn't really that bad....
I personally think this update will benefit Destiny in the long run. The crucible has had many different Metas, a lot of which have been a special weapon. This update could be the one that leads to more primaries being used, specifically the auto rifles. What are your thoughts?

In my experience, so far these changes have only lead to extremely passive gameplay.

1 ReplyOne thing I noticed over the past week is that the weapon balance actually wasn't that bad already lol. I tried a few different things in preparation for the patch and found I was doing pretty damn well with shadow price and hero formula. I was getting really frustrated with the game last week but just changing things and playing a bit slower has got me back into it.

2 RepliesAgree. I haven't gotten to play it all yet, but from what I see online special is spawing fast as hell, hand cannons look legit again, autos are coming out of hiding, and it's just...a change, which was needed. So far I like, even Truth change because heavy just stinks.

This update was nothing more than the result of some Bungie developer scrub that sucks at their own game. So the rest of have no choice but to suffer for their lack of skill.

2 RepliesThe arc blade and storm trance nerfs were complete bullshit. I'm not sure how I feel about the special ammo nerf. Skorris needs to only work in PvE. Everything else about the patch was good.

10 RepliesThe year 1 metas were primary metas. And back then stuff like Final round snipers and shotpackage shotguns were around. This isn't going to do much but slow the whole game down to a boring pace.

Except the mess up with the healt regen changes accidentally applying to all regen perks. I love the fact that when I pop my ward of dawn it regen 40 healt for me... Thanks.

I can no longer jump around like a bunny on crack and score crits on reds and yellows alike. Shame on you crying little sissies that can't handle buckshot to the face. 10 times shotguns have been nerfed?? Like WTF?? That is a new record in a video game no other has nerfed their shotguns that much. Goes to show what pussies play PVP.

It looks even better now with the full patch notes. The truth nerf is a wtf moment but everthing else makes sense. Gotta play it for a while before really making a decision.

It was already a popular combo, or NLB Shotguns. Especially on Hunters for some reason they love coupling that crap with Shadestep. Whereas because other Primaries haven't even had their TTK's increased, they're still incredibly impotent weapons compared to most Specials and Primary-Specials. It's just not going to help the competitive meta much, it seems more like it's focused on adjusting gameplay during 6v6's than anything else I guess. tl;dr Trials of Osiris plausibly remains Special-oriented, whereas maybe basic modes notice significant Primary usage for as long as people feel like these weapons are worth using; the moment they feel as though the Primary buffs underwhelmed across the board, they're going to drop them for Specials.

I think that this patch has the potential to be the best thing that's happened to Destiny PvP in ages. Special weapons were meant to be special and not the go-to weapon. If this encourages more people to run primaries then that's a good thing. I know that I was getting sick of getting 1 hit killed by the matador 64. Let's face it though, if your "GOOD" and you run a shotgun (not me, check my stats I'm trash with shotties) then this patch won't mean a thing. Special ammo will spawn every 60 seconds (at least 2 crates per map that's 24 crates of special per match). Also if your aim and timing is good the aim assist and accuracy nerf shouldn't be a problem either. If your dying or trading constantly and losing your ammo then that is you as a player. If your missing shots that you shouldn't be missing or firing outside of shotgun range then that's you.

2 RepliesThis update is a deal breaker for me. As a Destiny vet and sweat player, this is the update that drives me from the game. Let's be honest, it's obvious the special ammo nerf was to achieve the goal of people using primaries again right? That's what it looks like bungie wants. Heres the problem; the way they are fundamentally approaching it is an absolute insult. First, forcing us to use weapons that are inconsistent, unbalanced, and broken in some cases is one of the worst ways you can choose. If they want us to use primaries; GIVE US A REASON. Nobody wants to use an inconsistent Handcannon over a shotgun. They need to make primaries WORTH using. Give us reason, incentive. Simply ripping the only guns that are more consistent and overall better than our primaries is such a boneheaded move. It's the WRONG way to do it.
