No Land Beyond: Rant

Please tell me why some of you guys on the forums think No Land Beyond is OP or takes no skill to use. I am curious what your line of thinking is because.... (1) it doesn't even have that high AA. (2) reload glitch doesn't always work, and the misfire can get you killed. (3) It may say it is a Medium/High Impact type but it starts you off with a 292 Headshot until "The Master" is active. (4) You still have a ridiculous flinch when being fired at, and unless the target is standing still most NLB users won't land the headshot in mid-fire fight. (5) No one said anything about it until they nerfed snipers across the board and Clever Dragon became the meta. Literally everyone that complains about NLB only started when the new Clever-Meta started. (6) You may spawn with Ammo but you lose having an actual primary. Like seriously? Everyone bitching when they have the most OP set up in the game. If you miss your shot, the Clever Dragon or Matador will eat you alive every time (Hell even TLW users do). (7) NLB is only as good as your aim, it is not very forgiving with headshots because of the unique sight. (8) It isn't a weapon that anyone can pick up and get kills with (Like the Clever Dragon or Mapadork) (9) Mulligan sometimes -blam!-s up your reload glitch attempt so you have to wait to fire your weapon anyways. (10) It was rated the most underused and useless exotic in the beginning. Hell people asked for buffs or tweaks with it because it was underused. Now that it is being used, people are calling it OP or needs a nerf? Shame on all of you who disrespect NLB and it's good name. Pick it up yourself and use it until the update happens (see how OP it is then). *Edits/Update* I had no idea my rant was going to be getting this many likes and responses. Thank you all who have discussed this, it has brought some insight and I would like to share some of my thoughts about what people are saying about the gun. *Edit/Update #2* A couple comments made me realize I could of been a little lengthy with my first edit and could of seemed like I was singling out some responses. Removed to keep to the point. *Edit 3* Critical is 292-293. Confirmed. Have a great night Guys, I am tired and I enjoyed all the responses. It was fun and did not expect to see this post trend like it has. It was simply me getting my frustrations out of people bashing my current favorite exotic. Have a wonderful day Guardians. Use what you like. Whether OP or not, because come the 14th this meta will change and NLB will still be my baby.

    • No Land Beyond is a crutch to people who are jealous of those who know how to use the gun. If it really takes no skill, then I'm pretty sure it would be more used then the Clever Dragon is. Yet its not. Sure, it wasn't nerfed, but everyone got mad that they put a supposedly 'useless' exotic in the game, yet when it becomes useful, it's a crutch and the people who use it are scrubs. You can't win with this community, unfortunately.

      • Just like uni, NLB doesn't deserve a nerf but it's certainly going to be receiving one. Quite unfortunate.

        • As a NLB user I couldn't agree more. The gun is right we're it needs to be and is only as functional as the person using it.

          • In current destiny no single gun or any arhctype including Matador / Clever Dragon needs a nerf. The other weak primary/secondary arch types needs to be buffed to compete with these guns. We already have extremely weak primaries . I am not a greatNLB user and i get killed by it a lot and i can easily say the gun is in perfect state. The nerfs on UR shall be also reversed.

          • There are three types of NLB user. Those who kick ass in style. Those who camp for the odd cheap kill. Those (like me) who would be better off using it as a club.

            • What are you even talking about? I'm on the forums everyday and play Destiny everyday and i have literally never seen a post complaining about NLB or calling for it's nerf. Nor have i heard other players complain while playing PvP. Clever dragon, shotguns.....yes. But never NLB or snipers in general since the nerf. I think snipers are being a little sensitive here.

            • The NLB is kind of like riding a rollercoaster for me. I used it and didn't have a good time. Enough time passes and I forget that. So I go back in and try it again. I have the same bad time and I remember why I dismantle it every time I get one. It's just a gun that I don't do well with. I generally suck at snipers on console...heh, if you think I'm bad here, you would cringe at my attempts to play widowmaker on Overwatch. I've come to terms with it and that's why I don't snipe without a mouse and keyboard. I generally prefer my Zhalo Supercell or my Colovance's Duty because it's what I have fun with in the crucible. If you use the NLB and have fun with it, then rock on guardian.

            • Here's the thing: when you aim down sight with the no land on someone's head, like any other gun, there will be a red dot WHEN YOU USE ANY OTHER GUN, AND GET SHOT, YOU FLINCH AND YOUR AIM IS OFF Let that be known When using the no land beyond, that DOESNT HAPPEN NOTHING will make you miss. Not high caliber Not explosive rounds Nothing No land legit takes ZERO skill. You aim at the head, and no matter how many times/where you're shot from, you will NOT miss if you pull the trigger Go. Right now into private match and test it. I did and was appalled at how this was allowed in the game. It literally takes zero skill and the proof is in the testing, so go do it

My whole issue with NLB is that it turned out to be a gimmicky gun and Year 1, while in Year 3, it is considered one of the best snipers in the game. I'm pretty this says alot about Destiny as a whole atm. And 90% of headshots are pure luck. I'll be in a match with a NLB user and they get one good headshot off of me and the rest of the game is me pub stomping him to the ground.

              • I agree. The reason the Uni was nerfed was because it wasn't only an unlimited ammo primary shotgun, it functioned better than any legendary. The NLB functions much worse than the average legendary, has terrible stats, low AA and is single shot.

                • Y'know, I used Universal Remote in Trials a few weeks back, and i cannot see a nerf... Maybe its because im a year 2 player, but the shotgun is still Okay. The range for headshots may rival the Matador 64 (headshot wise), but it is balanced. Reading your post, made me barf. Not because I disagreed (I agree completely with you), but because i forgot that Sprite and Bananas made you barf. That aside, the No Land Beyond itself is a very controversial weapon itself. Hypocrites would say that the NLB itself sucks bad, and when I'M leading in points, they switch to the No Land. its ridiculously controversial. They say the NLB is a tryhard weapon. When I first got it, i thought i was a piece of worthless trash, and that i had my hopes up too high. However, the very next week, i picked this, what i called trash and useless, and got good with it. At first, I thought i was getting insanely lucky snipes, until i landed Headshot after headshot after bodyshot. (Cuz people make mistakes. Im not a body shot skrub anymore.) And yes, i agree that the No Land can be countered, but using proper maneuver tactics, you can counter attack. Seriously, when it got released, you wanted a buff to it. Now, you want to reverse that because it counters the Clever Dragon. Well, good! The Clever Dragon is overrated anyways. [Salt Alert] Seriously! That gun has been used in EVERY CRUCIBLE MATCH IVE BEEN IN!! USE A REAL WEAPON, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! What on EARTH happened to the OLD meta, with Doctorine of Passings and snipers?? With the freaking clever dragon, the use for a sniper has been ignored! WHY USE A SNIPER, WHEN YOU CAN USE A CLEVER DRAGON FROM SNIPING RANGE??? ITS RIDICULOUS! People spam the heck out of their controllers just to outgun someone, and It doesnt help that HCR staggers your counter! Listen, this post isnt about nerfing the clever dragon. It isnt even about counters to the CD. Its about NLB. The NLB takes skill and knowledge for you to properly headshot someone. You have to know the exact area in which a headshot would be guaranteed. And the NLB isnt OP. It's a well balanced gun, with a small amount of aim assist. The sights are horrible, but if you can get a snipe with it, dont gloat. In fact, dont gloat with any other weapon as well, because it will just make the salt content in our ocean blue whiter than snow. The community is a fragile object. Anything corrupt inside can and will corrupt the community itself, causing contradictions and hypocrisy. Today, the NLB is the subject.

                    • The one thing that is broken about it is the flinch. There has been testing done from true vanguard along with me and my friends. The barrel goes up, but it doesn't have an effect on where the bullet travels. You can be bursted down by any type of gun, and the bullet will go to the exact point of where he gun was aiming pre-flinch

I got 2200 kills with this baby with a 80% Precision kill ratio. Gonna keep using and using this with my crutch matador with full auto and rangefinder. Let the salt reign down on me... What you guys got?

                          • True vanguard makes a video and everyone cries nerf. It has as many downsides as it does pluses. You're losing your mid game, you have to reload glitch to stay competitive (even then mulligan probably procs and messes up your next shot and it jams) i sometime use triangle triangle to switch to quickdraw sidearm and back which causes it to jam more. Shooting thru visual flinch isn't easy. You just get lucky, if you're strafing like you should be you won't die due to it not having flinch. Everyone complaining about it try to pick it up and be a God. You can't, without hella practice. Unlike your HCR clever dragon.
