No Land Beyond: Rant
Please tell me why some of you guys on the forums think No Land Beyond is OP or takes no skill to use. I am curious what your line of thinking is because....
(1) it doesn't even have that high AA.
(2) reload glitch doesn't always work, and the misfire can get you killed.
(3) It may say it is a Medium/High Impact type but it starts you off with a 292 Headshot until "The Master" is active.
(4) You still have a ridiculous flinch when being fired at, and unless the target is standing still most NLB users won't land the headshot in mid-fire fight.
(5) No one said anything about it until they nerfed snipers across the board and Clever Dragon became the meta. Literally everyone that complains about NLB only started when the new Clever-Meta started.
(6) You may spawn with Ammo but you lose having an actual primary. Like seriously? Everyone bitching when they have the most OP set up in the game. If you miss your shot, the Clever Dragon or Matador will eat you alive every time (Hell even TLW users do).
(7) NLB is only as good as your aim, it is not very forgiving with headshots because of the unique sight.
(8) It isn't a weapon that anyone can pick up and get kills with (Like the Clever Dragon or Mapadork)
(9) Mulligan sometimes -blam!-s up your reload glitch attempt so you have to wait to fire your weapon anyways.
(10) It was rated the most underused and useless exotic in the beginning. Hell people asked for buffs or tweaks with it because it was underused. Now that it is being used, people are calling it OP or needs a nerf?
Shame on all of you who disrespect NLB and it's good name. Pick it up yourself and use it until the update happens (see how OP it is then).
*Edits/Update* I had no idea my rant was going to be getting this many likes and responses. Thank you all who have discussed this, it has brought some insight and I would like to share some of my thoughts about what people are saying about the gun.

To use no land beyond you need a skill I am CRAP at snipping and bad with that weapon but players that are good with that weapon respect because they deserve it

1 ReplyYou make several valid points, but unfortunately sniping in this game doesn't require skill in this game. There are players who are good at sniping yes, but a lot of players still hardscope narrow lanes, and let's be honest, it's pretty hard to miss a narrow lane hardscope. No land beyond also has the benefit of spawning with ammo, so scrubs are really the only reason why this weapon would be considered cheap in any way. I have over 3000+ hours clocked into destiny, and most of it is crucible, but unfortunately whenever i come across a no land beyond user, it's mostly just hardscoping campers. It's personally my favorite exotic though haha.

The only thing that will balance this game is a primary buff across the board. If they balance primaries all together to be used as a PRIMARY WEAPON then the crucible wont just be a bunch of shotgun losers like it is right now. Nlb is about the only balanced primary and it isnt really even a primary

9 RepliesMy concern is that it is the only weapon in the game that is not affected by flinch. Yes. The sights move but the actual aim of the weapon doesn't move at all. Unlike every other weapon in the game. Exotic or not. Tone down flinch on snipers, and make NLB function the same as every other weapon in the game. No other changes are needed.

My only wish is that it had armor piercing rounds to make it more viable in PvE.

Nlb is good were it's at. Yes there's no flinch but 90% of the time your target is moving if you miss vs a good player your proably going to die. Not to mention the jam yes you can reload glitch but that doesn't work all the time . Can't count how many times I go to shoot and nothing happens pull the trigger no bullet it's nasty when your good with it but it comes at a price name any other gun in game that will straight up not fire a round!!!!! When fired

People who use it now pretend they are far more skilled than they are because it used to be no land was a terrible sniper. Now compared to other snipers it is the best in every category except rate of fire. It deserves a nerf if sniper stay the same as a whole

It was always an instant dismantle for me. Didn't see the point of it... but then a few months back I started to notice it being used a hell of a lot more in The Crucible... then one particular IB game ( I think it was Rift on the map Frontier) I'm pretty sure the entire opposing team where all using it... it didn't end well for the team I was on... so I thought -blam!- it, I'll try it out. It's a fun weapon to use, something different... it does take skill to use it and that takes time. Perfect for maps like Dungeons, Frontier... it's certainly not OP, it's just weird.

Super annoyng to engage a kid who is constantly quickscoping with a sniper at primary range, and dashing on you with a shotty...

Took it into trials this weekend and landed some pretty nasty snipes thanks to the fact that it doesn't flinch. https://youtu.be/X0AfI6D0txo The last 4 minutes are my favorite because well.. who doesn't love bloopers :) :D The headshots though without master are 291 up close and 290 at range. Personally I'm not a sniper but I find the no land pretty user friendly. Takes a little bit to get used to but that's any sniper rifle.

11 RepliesUsing NLB automatically gets you on my block list... and in some cases reported as a scrub. Now any moment will be comments from those who claim it takes massive skill to use NLB and blah blah blah blah, don't care what the excuse is.
