So we get penalised because I didn't want to add random people to my Friend list? Or once I relented, found its a lot of bloody effort, can't even join a clan!
Can't do raids, so some of the best gear/content is out of reach. At least make it possible to post in game request at the tower, not some 3rd party app.

I'm sure it's not a priority for Bungie since there are plenty of 3rd party sites that allow you to find other players and probably do it better than Bungie ever will. One of the criteria for prioritizing software changes is the viability of workarounds for the problem. The 3rd party sites are a viable workaround therefore any change to this inside Destiny would be a low priority.

3 RepliesDoes this even matter now, bungie has given everyone a way to Max light without having to do raids or trials, if you can't raid or do trials you can play crucible or strikes for exotic engrams with three of coins to raise your light, you can rank up your factions or you can play iron banner. I'd recommend to just put yourself out there and look on Lfg sites or the destiny app to find a group and you'll probably make new friends along the way. If that's not something you want to do bungie has made it possible for every Guardian to achieve Max light through a variety of different ways.

2 Repliesseriously no. remember in year one everyone wanted the abillity to talk in pvp and pve through the fireteam because nobody was joining parties? yeah see how well that worked? nobody uses it, nobody talks in pvp or pve if you arn't in a raid or with friends.. think about it.. you get some ass hat at 375 who can't hold his gun straight and wears graviton forfeit on his arc blade hunter joining your fireteam for the raid.. with no ability to kick him out.. sound slike alot of fun doesn't it.. or how about the fact that with all the check points, which checkpoint are you going to start at? this is a horrible idea that will fail and isn't worth the time or effort in making happen.

Optional for everything except trials and raids, raids require communication and how would they match people up in trials, what if someone is trying for flawless and another person just wants to do bounties

It's all a matter of dedication. If destiny is a game that you pick up every couple weeks, or even just a couple times a week, then you're never going to reach the pinnacle of destiny content. It also requires patience. In order to find the right guys to do the raid with, you have to be patient. Getting good at the raids and mechanics takes time to perfect. The first time I faced up against atheon, I had no clue what I was doing. I had no friends and had to stay on lfg basically all day to find a good team. But over time, I got better and better at it and began blowing through raids with random groups. But I had to stay dedicated and be patient. That sometimes means staying in a raid for 8 hours until you finally kill the bastard. After every raid, I'd add guys I thought were cool and good. It's how I met my current clan. You can't get worked up and get angry at other people and start playing the blame game. That's a one way ticket to never completing a raid. After all, everyone is here to have fun. The key is to be friendly, be dedicated, be patient, and have fun. I'd rather raid with a group of goobers that I can laugh with rather than blow through a raid in 5 minutes with a couple of turd sandwiches that yell at each other for throwing a grenade in the wrong spot.

Are you on PS4? If so I'll run a raid with you Wednesday or Thursday. We can run it as many times as you need. I have hundreds of friends and we're bound to find a few who want to raid

7 Replieswont happen. people like their elitist status and bitching about how people dont know how to do the raids and bitching how nobody wants to play trials and raids^^ but to be fair, its not only the community. its bungie. they said countless times they dont have interesst in giving "endgame content" optional matchmaking. so either waste your time in lfg and waste even more time to get no / crap rewards or dont do it at all.

Downvoted for obnoxious title.

Edited by Kone19ps: 1/28/2017 8:04:10 PMLobbies for raids trials and COE. Optional Matchmaking for the rest. Or universal lobbies. Bungie may not want us to have that much freedom though.

18 RepliesEdited by Apophis-29: 1/27/2017 12:49:33 AMThe ONLY people who say no to an OPTIONAL built in matchmaking for all events are BUNGiE diehards and fanboys. That's it. Deny it all you want. It's the simple truth. Otherwise, what difference would it make to people who didn't want to use it? Just don't use it. Problem solved. Might even get life back into the game with some people. Not having to use 3rd party sites and apps to play certain things in the game. Never made sense to me how people could be so opposed and angered at the thought of adding an OPTIONAL in game LFG. I doubt this it will ever happen, but I agree it would be a great addition.
-
You need to emphasise the word "optional" there are a lot of numpties out there, some don't even know what it means, so maybe a dictionary link would be useful too.
-
Optional. Goes right over a lot of heads. Elitism is the problem

That's basically how you make friends irl you know. I suppose you don't have a lot of experience with that if you're going to put that asinine comment in your post. Some of the people in the lfg community from my experience are really not that bad as long as you don't suck and or are arrogant. Give them a chance Adding matchmaking because you're too scared to add people is just stupid. Get over yourself. I hate to seem really mean but most of the player base can deal with it. It's quite frankly fine Third party app, you could just use the recruitment section on here. It really isn't that bad. This is a social game, it's labelled as such. Yes you are going to have the short end of the stick if you're a solo player. Adding an in game recruitment section would be better than adding matchmaking for everything. Matchmaking would honestly be terrible because A. Afkers B. Trolls C. Noobs (People that don't want to use the correct load outs ex Someone using a dam sidearm at Vosik which is something I have seen) D. Idiots E. People who just ditch F. People with garbage connection G. People not joining the game chat/ people who speak a different language than you. Just imagine being match made with 5 other people and they don't speak the same language as some of the others. Just imagining this makes me die of laughter honestly. Also considering the way the crucible and strikes are with no one joining the team voice channel I can assure you a lot of people won't use it there either. Not as bad as the strikes/ crucible since not everyone's stupid but there will be a decent amount who won't. H. People with impediments. I know that this might come off as well rude or just unsavoury but there are people who are deaf, and or not mentally efficient enough. This will be more of a rare case but it will happen and we all know you're going to feel bad having to kick/ditch that one guy who fits this profile. J. People who are under light trying to join up. Sure the raid suggests 380 for a raid but you can join and be as low as I think 360. Besides, who wants to do the raid raid these days with a 380 anyway. I could tell you right now most people wouldn't. 385-390 sure but 380??? Hell no, I'm not sherpaing at the moment honey. I'm gonna have to put you on pause. Heroic strikes are already a pain with these factors. Imagine a raid? Save people the trouble. I can almost guarantee that all of you people pushing for optional matchmaking will not enjoy it after hmm maybe the third time you try to use it for a raid/trials. Matchmaking for night falls however would work considering they're extremely easy now. Anyway, quite frankly this game has hardly anyone working on it currently. Almost all of bungie is focused on destiny two. The few people that are still working on this game have bigger concerns then this (weapon balancing, etc). Adding things to this level would just be moot. Bungie has even said they have a hard time upgrading this game and optional math making isn't the flick of a switch most of you people seem to think. Optional match making isn't apart of this game. They would actually have to not just use a reskin and add something new which bungie has proven to be difficult for them lmfao.
-
It would be so simple for them to just add a group finder in the game. Quit making us do everything through your app and third party sites. I would do more raids and nightfalls if I knew it wouldn't be such a hassle to put a group together for them half the time. Group finder is the best solution so you can get people in the group before you launch a raid and if they don't have mics or won't say anything you can kick them and add someone else who does. This is a simple concept and it's just kind of asinine that we don't have something like this yet in the game when pretty much all endgame content in destiny requires a group to complete it.
-
Bump. Been saying it for years.... OPTIONAL match making for everything.
-
4 RepliesYou can't do the raids because you don't want to find a team. That's on you.
-
I think it would be great for them to add matchmaking to the nightfall, PoE and CoE. For the raids and ToO, I think an in game LFG or board of some kind would be the way to go. OMM on the raids and ToO would have sooooo many problems, which is why Bungie has stated a few times that they don't plan to add it. People below have broken down all the bad that would come with OMM, and just thinking about how much worse the forums would get if they were crazy enough to add it is enough reason not to for me. But like I said, add an in game hub of some kind so that people don't have to go outside the game. That seems like the best compromise between those for and against OMM.
-
Optional Matchmaking on Nighfalls, all PoE and CoE... no reason why it shouldn't be. Raids are a little more tricky and should require some kind of in game system, board or LFG.. The app and reddit system is trash.
-
It would be an epic failure. Lfg is fine
-
You know this happened with gta 5. When heists were first released you had to go on boards or message randoms in game to set up a 4 person team. It was so dumb. They added matchmaking within I think 2 months. It can be horrible at times. But I still have the option of trying to get together a 4 person team that's more reliable. But if I don't feel like it, and I want to risk it with matchmaking, I can. Bungie obviously just doesn't want to do it

Edited by MindfulPizza: 1/27/2017 4:44:10 PMit to simple for them just , to make at the tower a , few pre made shouts, and 3 minutes timer so can not spam it, sucks , there so far behind were mmo's came from . Then have option to wispers them as a tell , and talk on typing first, and ask real time q's in stead of the forum, delay chats and all that junk. instead it 1990's forums grab randoms, and same as the bad quick matches, that bungie created for halo 2, but at least if in game tells, can send messages back as tells first in real time find out if even worth joining there chat. , voice chat talk after the forums worst then a random quick match and no one talks.
-
I think an in game LFG would solve that.
-
Simple solution: Add an in game LFG. it could be right next to the bounty tracker in the tower. You can set required light and activity, subclass preferences. All the good stuff

3 RepliesLFG. Listen, here's everything that can and will go wrong if matchmaking is added to raids. 50% of the time, no-one will know how to do the raid. This will lead to frustrating playsessions, and people being put it in mid-progress raids. Leavers. You know those people who leave when youy team is behind by 1000 points? Imagine them leaving whenever soemone dies. Also, it's a 30 second respawn timer on Normal Mode. That means that that is 30 seconds that someone can ragequit. And in hard Mode, THERE WILL BE NO RESPAWN! Lack of Communication. First, you have to get 6 people to all know how to play. Then, you have to get them to use mics. If they don't want to use a mic, your screwed. If they are an annoying 7 year old who sounds like he's so congested that his snot could power a hydroelectric plant, then have fun listening to that bastard for the next 3-24 hours, because guess what, no-one will know what to do. AND THIS IS ALL UNDER THE ASSUMPTION THAT EVERYONE HAS A STABLE CONNECTION, AND SPEAKS ENGLISH!
-
This has been asked for since day one my friend, this is ultimately the main reason I stopped playing If destiny 2 has no optional matchmaking I doubt if I will invest in it.
-
This has being debated since year one.
not going to happen.
