DISCLAIMER: THIS IS MY OPINION: Read the whole post and THEN tell me what you think :)
Just read the weekly update and my god it is embarrassing. I feel like i am being patronised by the people that sort out matchmaking and the crucible. When we say "I want to chill with my friends" you replied with "Well play private matches"!!!! What?!?! Well what if I want to chill by myself and I don't have friends online? "Well that's your fault for not having many friends?" Are you going to tell me that next? The whole problem is this element of skill based matchmaking. Having to put us in a pool of players that have equal skill makes the game very sweaty. Not to mention that not having PURE connection based matchmaking ruins any sort of consistency of certain weapons such as Hand Cannons, Auto rifles, and Shotguns in regards to hit detection. When we say we want to go into control with our friends, it means we don't want to have to try like it is a million dollar tournament to even have a chance. FIX THIS
Ok so reading through some of these comments has made me realise that I wasn't clear enough. So my solution is That here should be 2 different playlists.
1. A ranked playlist where if we want to compete in a focused environment so we can hone our skills for the better. This playlist offers rewards for doing well and offers the best chances for good rolls on weapons.
2. A casual playlist where if we want to chill and not have to try every game. This would have the current reward system that we have in place now.
I do understand that people want to improve and I am right behind you on that. But if we want to compete in a focused environment the we should be able to and not sweat like it is a $1000000 tournament. Hopefully this made my statement more clear. I love this game and I want it to be better and I have loads of respect for Bungie but they need to get this game right, so D2/3/4 and beyond can succeed.
PS: Anyone that who wants to see if im a noob. Get 2 or 3 friends and message vsoiitude on xbox and I WILL TRY and get 2 or 3 of my friends and we'll play a series. This is not to boost my ego. This is to prove i have some sort of weight backing my answer and people saying im a noob

I'm a chill player, I don't care too much for K/D I have good games and bad ones. I don't hunt for god rolls, I use the meta because, well it's the meta... I pay for a good internet connection and I'd prefer to get matched with such.

5 RepliesI think splitting the playlist is stupid and there's really no reason behind it that doesn't end up being some form of "I want to play worse players than I am now." IF we HAVE to split them, make the casual playlist give no rewards. You don't want to try? Cool. You get nothing for not trying. Easy as that.

Just stop playing people. I know you have other games to play. If you complain about Matchmaking and yet, Bungie always sees and knows you will just keep logging in and playing matches, they have no incentive to fix this. Throwing salt on here and still logging in DOES NOTHING. Speak with how you spend your free time gaming. Protest Bungie by not playing their game.

I don't consider myself an elite player or sweaty player at all. But when I play I always try my best to win. I'm competitive and enjoy a challenge, that's what makes pvp fun for me. A fun, fair, challenge is why I pvp. You want to play a game, not having to try at all to win, and yet still get rewards. How is that fun? Why would that be something a gaming company would invest in? That sounds like private matches to me to be honest. You don't have to split your thumbs and break your controller every match you play. You can chill in pretty much every mode except trials lol. Maybe I'm just different and more relaxed. Or maybe I just don't take this game that serious. Either way playing competitively to win is casual and relaxing to me. It's like playing a pickup game at the rec, or playing in the NBA. If you choose to make that pickup game as intense as the NBA, that's on you. You can't complain that the game needs to be dumbed down so that you don't have to try and can just mindlessly mash buttons and still get loot. This entire game would be patrol if that were the case lol.

Serious man bungo have just lost what little respect i had left for them.This game could of been epic but no as soon as ToO dropped the twitch whores had their minions complain about this that and everything and that just got the wagon rolling and once bungo caved in first time they had to every time instead of saying STFU and play the game.IMO the only 2/3 nerfs every needed in this game where yr1 suros/vex and half these idiots on here probably were not even here for it the 3rd you say was hammers when they dropped first other than that everything else was good.People will say felwinters some will say whats that it was only OP or seemed to be because all the bitching about thorn HM suro vex so you just got HC and every other primary in the game nerfed into oblivion , and fusions nerfed into non existence for nearly 16 months.Serious stop the bitching and play the game.

You can tell because I have 11 freaking days on patrol alone on my Warlock, just staring at the sky, pretty much most of it contemplating the meaning of life. This is only 5 hours behind strikes. And I've played a lot of Destiny... as a year 1 beta player. I get tired of losing in crucible? Patrol. I want to break someones face? Patrol. Or strikes, strikes are good too. I love pub stomping AI's with awesome modifiers of the week. Crucible is not a chill zone. And they haven't made different ranked playlists yet so it was never intended to be a chill zone. And if you do want 'chill games' don't look to IB or Trials or anything to do with 3v3, even 6v6 is hard to not try on. Everyone wants everyone else to be chill. How about you be chill for once for other people? See... no one does that. And that's why no one can be chill. The most chill games you'll find are Combined Arms. That's it. Get in an interceptor and try not to get sniped. Also, have you experimented with LFG for personal crucible lobbies? I haven't, but I'm sure it'll work to some extend for private matches. Not sure if that would be considered fun though... -- I'll share a secret with ya. You know... strikes and patrol were meant to just be fun to do. You don't 'have' to have a reason to do them.

If the Crucible stresses you out so much, maybe finding something else to do would be preferable to getting stressed out trying to get a game developer to change their game.

2 RepliesDoesn't matter. If you had a casual/ranked playlist, all the sweaty tryhards would flood the casual playlist just to maintain their ego/KD. People would then complain it's too unbalanced or whatever. I'm fine with the way it is now; just lump everyone in together. My issue is with the connections. I have NO issues getting wrecked by someone better than me.....no problems whatsoever. I DO have an issue if I've dumped 3-4 shotgun rounds into you, chase you for a good 8 seconds, dump a couple more shotgun rounds into you only for you to either A) just completely -blam!-ing disappear or B) teleport behind me and shotgun me once and I'm dead. This is why i laugh when people say that crucible is "competitive". How can it be competitive when shit like this happens regularly? While it doesn't happen all the time, it happens enough that it irritates me to the point where crucible is off limits for me. Stupid to focus time/energy into a "competitive" playlist when much larger issues are more prevalent. Bungie is taking the tried and true route of least resistance when it comes to their game. Rather than plug the leak, they'll clean up the mess it made and let everyone know things are ok for now.
