One of the things that I see a lot of people complaining about is the revives in ToO. No revives literally changes the dynamic of the game entirely in my opinion. It allows for teams to not have to camp on old orbs, gives warlocks an actual reason to run the solar class, disincentives teams from blindly rushing into the other spawn for a quick kill or trade, allows everyone to use an exotic that benefits themselves and their gameplay instead of a quick revive exotic, the list just goes on. ToO was getting so boring with the current meta game loadouts but today I noticed some weapons and strategies I haven't seen in a very long time.
On top of that, ToO is suppose to be the top tier "competitive" game mode for Destiny. WHY THE F**K ARE THERE RADARS ACTIVE THEN? Not having your radar actually requires skill, teamwork and most importantly COMMUNICATION, which is something that Bungie is clearly trying to increase hence the raid mechanics.
FOTL ToO was the most fun activity I have played in a long time. I would love for Bungie to keep ToO this way. ~~Thoughts and opinions are welcome~~
BUT FIRST [counterarguments]:
"But Xarnage, everyone just camps with a shotgun around corners waaaaahhhhh this is stupid!"
---Yes, I've seen this happen but believe me only trash players do this and once you get past ~5 wins you will not encounter this ever again.
"But Xarnage, no revives means that it gives your last man standing a huge disadvantage! This is stupid waaahhhhh"
---Actually its the complete opposite. Lets take a 1v2 for example. Now the last person left on your fireteam does not have to worry about rushing into a gun battle in fear of the other team getting the revive and making it a 1v3. S/he can actually showcase their skill and try to outplay both remaining opponents.
TL;DR
FOTL ToO is nearly perfect. The only additional change I would suggest is not highlighting the player who kills you. This mechanic is unfair in this game type even normally.

2 Repliesfirst person I've seen that likes this garbage. No revives is cool w. Me, but no radar is ridiculous. There is way too much movement, & nowhere near enough distinctive sounds in Destiny to be played with no radar. That's just my personal opinion on the topic. Nobody I run with enjoys it either. I personally can't stand it. They should've made 2 different playlists...inferno trials, cool with me. I just don't wanna participate. Unfortunate for me because Trials is the only real reason I play destiny still. I haven't done the normal Raid. So I'm skipping out on this weekend for sure. To each their own...don't take this as any kind of hate. People are quick to get nasty on these forums. I'm not attacking anyone's opinion, just stating my own ..& explaining why it ruined my weekend.

9 RepliesEdited by samwenchester: 10/29/2016 12:14:11 AMUm no. No Radars only promotes crouching around the map to get behind the enemy. No skill require. Lmao The strategy for this trials, 2 go one way and one goes the other, try to sandwich, whoever gets behind the others gets the kills. No reall team strats required. Crouch and hide. Lmfao Every stream I've watched up to flawless and beyond both teams do just this strat, crouch there way through the map to get behind the other team. Every single match I watched was exactly the same. Was quite boring to watch.

Totally agree no radar and revives is awesome!!
-
1 ReplyThere should be no spectate too imo after death. Youre dead not a camera scout guide
-
22 RepliesNo this is absolutely terrible, destiny has too much verticality in it in order for it to be a no radar game. The lack of radar allows people to warrior shotgun you in the back because you can't see them and you can't use sound queues either because this game isn't cod and it's not as easy. You look at any decent player and their eyes are glue to a radar, why? Because that allows to anticipate the next push from a mindless shotgunner. All that being said, I personally hate this and so I'm boycotting it this weekend but if some people like it then fair enough, I guess everyone has an opinion

1 ReplyAbsolutely agree, best week of trials yet. Funny seeing "top tier" players struggling a little too.

6 RepliesEdited by BOSS_TPH76: 10/29/2016 2:23:19 AMI seriously disliked it initially. But I actually had more fun this way. Since I am not a good player and some teams are ridiculous I am still on the fence about no revives...but the whole "No radar" thing is pretty solid imo. What needs to change though is the fact that enemy sounds need to be amplified. This mode sorely needs auditive hints to function properly. There is now actual team work and strategy involved...you know...instead of hard scoping or shotty maining the main walkways. I seriously hated this map though.

1 Replyother map would be nice I hate this so much Is on the top of my hatelist cathedral of dust is better than this one

2 RepliesEdited by PaulEBluebird: 10/29/2016 2:24:15 AMThis mode is far less competitive. Two of the easiest flawless runs I've ever had tonight. Messed up on the third an will go again in the morning. Any half decent communicating team should do well this weekend. It's harder with the radar, people know where you are and you them, so you have to out play people. This current version feels like easy mode, move fast from cover to cover, call out heat including if you're dead. Normal trials is definitely harder! Edit: all you people that normally avoid trails need to get in there and try it like this, it's a much more equal playing field with no radar, the best players are the best because they are quick at spotting radar movement, they rely upon it. Be aggressive, grenade and push. Get to it;)

5 RepliesI ain't about to sit there and play cod where kids sit in corners with shotty's like pussies I agree to no revives but yes to a radar
-
It's just camp central. I can't play like that. I've beat all the good teams which come out of their spawn and play the game. I keep losing to the shit teams who hide in corners. Don't tell me to sit and wait for cap, I play for fun not for 5/10 seconds of shooting per 2 minute round.

Get yourself a warlock and a shotgun to play trials this weekend.
-
Shotgun =/= skill

1 ReplyEdited by Eduardo: 10/29/2016 12:47:36 AMThere are literally no COMPETITIVE games that take off radar. You're so stupid. Camping a door or a corner is not skill so please do us all a favor and shut up On revivers though, yea that's a good idea to be fully implemented permanently.
-
I agree 100 percent!!
-
I disagree. The radar is part of the skill. Its to prevent those moments of getting killed by looking the wrong way at the wrong time, so engagement are fair. It's part of knowing when your opponent is pushing so you can react properly. Revives add depth and comeback mechanics. They allow teams that get a kill the opportunity to stay ahead but only if they hold the orbs. If the team with a man down is able to capitalise on an enemies inability to hold an orb, they can bring themselves back into a game using game knowledge. My point is by removing these it removes all of the depth and tactics and just turns it into a boring and barebones version of Search and Destroy from cod. Just without the bomb.

2 RepliesI really don't like it. EZ flawless this week tho so I'm not mad. But no radar on cauldron? Seems like a bad idea all around
-
16 RepliesYou are odd

1 ReplyAfter hearing this was the way it was this weekend I wasn't expecting my usual flawless run. This trials mode is fuqing sick. I love it. 1 down 2 to go
-
3 RepliesNah dont like all that shotgun bullshit.
-
2 RepliesI don't play ToO, I don't think I've ever even entered the trials tbh. I've never really enjoyed crucible, I'm not that big on pvp thanks to a lot of bad experience with CoD. I hate any pvp game where the players always know exactly where the other team is, and I hate games that encourage kamikaze tactics over team tactics and Destiny is very heavy in both departments. That said, what you've described actually sounds fun. I think if I had a consistent pvp group, I might actually enjoy ToO if it stayed like this. That, and if Bungie ever gets around to dealing with the lag spikers and Ddos'ers.

3 RepliesNext trials should be a hunter free mode.
-
4 RepliesI just want the emblem but I'm horribly low light and my connection is very poor... Rip me I guess.

6 RepliesI agree... ive alway thought the rezs was stupid...exp getting an overshield for it...
