Tip for Rank up Packages! Choose wisely

Your rank with this faction has increased!
Now you have to choose one of three package options: Armor, Chroma or Weapons.
Let math do the work..
For this, I'll take away the chroma package, assuming you've collected them already..
Take a look at your weapons, add the totals of each weapon you have including your ghost and divide the total by 4. Remember the number.
Now, separately, add the totals of your armor including your artifact, and divide the total by 6. Remember the number.
If your weapons have a higher value than you armor, I recommend choosing an armor package.
If your armor has a higher value than your weapons, I recommend choosing a weapon package.
This should help get the most of your rank up packages! Good luck

3 RepliesThat is quite a convoluted way of going about things (and adding ghosts, class items, and artifacts in the equation completely messes up the math). Simply put, look at your gear and find the lowest piece you have. If it's armor, pick an armor package. If it's a weapon, pick a weapon package, and cross your fingers. K.I.S.S. I truly don't understand why you are adding ghosts to weapons and class items and artifacts to armor. Ghosts and class items drop from any package, and artifacts never drop from any minus Eris.

Or just check with category has the lowest light level and pick that category

1 ReplyI just alternate which packages per faction so if i had 2 packages from DO 1 would he weapons and the other will be armor. Does anyone still go for the chroma packages?

I kinda did this already. I skipped out on the math, and I just look at which I currently have the highest of. Most of my gear sticks around the same level, so I just find the outliers.

Ghosts and class items, as well as as artifacts don't factor in because the packages can drop ghosts and class items from either package. Artifacts don't drop at all.

Very true! I would add though to equip your highest piece of light weapon or gear.

Your theory is flawed, Ghosts and Class items can drop from either package [u]in addition[/u] to the weapon/armour. And Artifacts don't drop at all from faction packages. Better to look at the avarage light of your 3 weapons vs avarage light of your 4 armour pieces. Is your Primary letting you down? Go for weapons. Etc. I get your logic though, good effort.

10 RepliesI've got a much better way. Just choose weapons all the time. The game is an FPS, it's all about the guns. Armour drops frequently, and the faction armour is ugly as -blam!-. Keep it simple, guns everytime.

9 RepliesI buy armour every time and play crucible for weapons. With crucible not dropping engrams anymore you get weapons on or above your light and it's surprising how often they drop.

This is good for people worrying about leveling up to 375+. When you are in the 380s. It's just WEAPONS every time. NEED THE GOD ROLLS MAN.
