What ELSE is the Bungie 'Code of Conduct' Greater Than?

Saw numerous fellow guardians sacrifice themselves today, purposely and knowingly exposing themselves to bans. Why? To expose the truth. To say enough is enough. To say to Bungie that we players are SICK AND TIRED of not only the cheating that is rampant in PvP, but of Bungie's ongoing insipid placations that they are fixing thing when, as shown by our fellow fallen guardians today, Bungie is in fact knowingly allowing cheaters to remain in the game and to continue cheating! The cheater who was named in those posts, which resulted in ninja justice and, I'm sure, ban hammer blows for our fellow guardians, has himself apparently experienced no repercussions of any merit - if any at all. Yes, the name and shame policy serves a purpose. And so does whistleblowing. Bungie, you've been called out, but not "in the ways of old." No, you've been called out by your player base in a self-sacrificial manner, seeking to get your attention and to get you to take action. The message from our collective voices is this: "Fix this game that we love!" Stop silencing us! Stop banning us! Stop IGNORING us! A moment of silence for our muted and banned brothers and sisters . . . * BTW - where are all the streamers and reviewers now?
Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in.   See Cozmo's thread here for more information about the #Feedback tag and its uses. • So with ROI the LAG still happens and reports go unanswered.

If you want to report "cheaters" use this link: https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/Article?id=12960 "Naming and shaming" is prohibited by the code of conduct and going on an incoherent tirade because you're throwing a tantrum doesn't increase awareness or inspire a revolution, it makes you sound ignorant.

      • I get why they do that, on the off-chance that a witch-hunt occurs to an actual innocent player. But for the most part, it's astounding that a post like that gets immediately banned, and yet blatantly obvious cheaters are still playing in the 2+ years since Destiny released. I get that it doesn't happen as often as most make it seem, but when it does happen I expect Bungie to handle it so that their loyal players who don't take advantage at the expense of others not continue to get shafted by cheaters and Bungie. The in-game reporting tool definitely needs some work, maybe make the reasons for reporting more specific or have the ability to submit videos and pics. Because as of now, I highly doubt reporting does anything useful in the necessary timeframe it was sent. Basically, cheaters should be punished and not the people who report them or try to make Bungie aware of the situation.

Cheating is not rampant in PVP, this goes for myself as well when I say it's nothing more than an excuse for yours and my playing bad or poor attitude. Now it's still a factor that people do mod... But it is most definitely not rampant. People may... May have have been cheatingin PVP, I've only ever, since beta, found one that used 3 self Rez in one round of trials, but they're so insanely rare that the chance is a %1 of actually fighting them. Having Starbuck's internet is not a cheat. As to making a post ban worthy to get a point across, that's more of an immature and unprofessional way to do so, one can make a good point and a powerful one at that if they try, making it ban worthy is sloppy and a poor way to do it. Destiny 1 is going out of its time soon, destiny 2 will take its place, players must understand that while they can help make a better destiny 2 (or with the majority of wants and demands... Make it worse ten fold) but need to stop the whining and selfish demands and wants for destiny 1. The game is at a point were it's too late for any big changes. There is no way to fix this game... Only the next one, it's not our place as the community, yes you may have feedback... But that changes weekly hence-Shotgun Nerf, making snipers more op, snipers get nerfed, your happy, then a week later you're all crying Nerf to shotguns... Do you want range to literally be touching the person to do damage? No, if they want to be banned and weren't wrongly banned, I will not show silence, that's something to do as respect, but seeing as how they provided actual proof of the moding and they got banned? That's messed up, I as well get the whole CoC but that's not cool.

There is better ways to talk online and in being respectful about it? You gain MUCH stronger traction. To put it simply? This is an open letter to Bungie about players manipulating pvp arenas for their own gain.
The cheater who was named in those posts, which resulted in ninja justice and, I'm sure, ban hammer blows for our fellow guardians, has himself apparently experienced no repercussions of any merit - if any at all.
Of that variety, one person in particular was found to be under suspicious circumstances and was widely brought up. This was done to show trials of osiris matches were potentially being manipulated. Fact is, I saw the posts, I saw the user history out of curiosity. I also saw the 100% unrealistic demands in some posts based on ZERO network evidence. This is why their is a support desk committed to the networking conditions. Yes, cheating happens. Yes, it can be bad at times. Yes, damage referee was implemented to help handle that. But there will never be any community generated witch hunt which will ever gain traction once it hits center stage BECAUSE... people have done a lot worse in real life based on those situations. You want proof of that? Go watch any video where you see the polar opposite of police brutality and it's the people doing exactly what they say against police and vice versa. Bad DECISIONS will lead to bans and there is absolutely no one on the planet who will effectively argue that creating posts, sounding like your doing such a good thing and being a community activist will be met with a thank you. You know the rules, you know what not to do and what to do. This is not that. So don't do it and don't be dumb enough to think the consequences don't match the situation. Users creating a witch hunt will ONLY alienate YOU from the rest. The rest don't care about what someone does to net a trip to the Lighthouse BECAUSE there was discussion about this and it hasn't been acted on yet. You want a solution? People want the grimoire. 100% completion. Without going flawless though, trials gear will remain behind that locked door with ZERO potential for others to get that. So yes, they will look for the door to get there and simply take the two week ban where they can't play crucible or ToO. The solution? Is Bungie letting people get to that without the rewards. They haven't yet done that...

              • Name and shame would lead to witch hunts. The forums are already bad enlugh as it is. There is a form to fill out for reporting cheaters. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13967 Scroll to the bottom, and click on "Report a match for suspected cheating"

              • I've read a large chunk of this thread and I gotta say, the whole conversation is quite incoherent. Regardless. Just like Warcraft, and league of Legends, when you play on someone else's creative property, they make they rules. Breaking rules to prove a point isn't the right thing to do unless you're starting a governmental revolution from tyranny. This isn't that. That said, I think cheating is clearly too common in Destiny,, and I'd love to see more action done. Drop the ban hammer like they've done before. Also, incase you were wondering how far bungie has gone in the past, I had a buddy who was banned from logging in to any aspect of the game for an entire month. Of course he believes it was down wrongly, (and me being his friend I believe my pal, and you do not need to know those circumstances). But rest assured Bungie does impose meaningful bans on certain peoples.

                • Bungie. Deleting a thread by some ninja moderator doesn't mean the conversation ends. It ends when you show meaningful consideration and action on the subject. You could have removed the names of the offending person. You chose the whole conversation, thereby showing your true colors and ethics on fair play. You can paint a turd pretty colors, but it's still a turd.

                  • Actually, naming and shaming is a commonly bannable practice on quite a few game's forums. If you like, i can list at least two more large games where such pratice is standard. That said, google + has no such restrictions.

                        • The truth is this company doesn't respect anything that doesn't directly harm their bottom line. The only thing you can actually do that will make them change their behavior is to specifically boycot anything made by sucktivision and Bungie and try to organize a movement to do the same. And even then it won't effect these two, because they'll have to actually be driven into bankruptcy for the rest of the market to respond by conceding it is possible to push the player base too far. But.. Just violating terms of service because Bungie is allowing people to cheat without repercussion isn't going to accomplish anything. I wish it would. I wish developers cared as much about customer satisfaction as I do where I work....... They just don't. They could lose a thousand customers for life. Ten thousand. And they're just like "there's always someone else"... It's sad.

Why don't they do something productive and make the multiplayer experience enjoyable instead of pissing off the people who are trying to give good advice and help them better the Destiny community.
