It has been effectively nerfed into extinction. I don't understand why either, as far as shotguns go, it was very average even with the exotic perks. There only thing that made it worth using was the primary slot.... That was it.
Other options could have been used to "balance" it out, like reducing the magazine to 3 or 4 rounds, or reducing the amount of reserve ammo.
But instead it was nerfed into the worst shotgun in the world.
I disagree with the action taken in this weapon.
*Edit: in its current state, I feel the universal remote should fire in full auto like the invective does.

1 ReplyIt needed a nerf to fall in line with other shotguns. Did bungie go to far, yes they did. The gun was out of control in crucible, as well as by-passing the ammo nerf. That stupid gun had an almost unlimited supply of ammo, while other players fought for ammo crates. The best thing bungie could do is bring an end to the nerf roller coaster, by separating PVE from PVP.

1 ReplyAdapt, learn, practice. A weapon is only useless if you don't learn its strengths and weaknesses.
-
10 RepliesEdited by Subtle: 9/14/2016 2:55:22 PMIt had higher RoF, more damage , and more range than God-roll high impact shotguns. Not to mention you got more ammo every time you spawned. Idk what lead you to believe that it was "average".

2 RepliesThat gun was crap in year one. What's happened, what did I miss?
-
It was literally the best shotgun in game before nerf
-
1 ReplyOn PS3 its still the same!
-
2 RepliesEdited by TYBERIUS777: 9/15/2016 4:14:32 AMPlease go watch fallout plays video about UR. It's the best shotgun in the game even out ranging a god rolled Party Crasher and a Matador and Felwinters. That's not your average shotgun. That's the best shotgun.

5 RepliesIt was a crutch and plague. Seriously it was.
-
3 RepliesIt's been shot in the head and left on the curb to be eaten by wolverines.
-
The biggest thing I'm sad about is saying goodbye to the super fun Universal Remote No Back-Up Plans Defender build. It was really competitive for what is statistically the worst PVP subclass. Bungie has inadvertently nerfed Defenders!
-
2 Replieslord of wolves is next it should now have a more grouped burst
-
3 RepliesI don't remember the last time I even saw this in use...
-
49 RepliesHaven't you heard? Destiny is trying to become a cheap man's sniper elite. Bungie don't care for shotguns.
-
Yup had my fun with it..now I got two exotic shards out of her.
-
3 RepliesIn the lore the gun is supposed to have scout rifle ranges >.>
-
1 ReplyUse it anyway. That's what I'm going to be doing and have been doing since I got it in Year 1. They can kick and cry all they want about it being a crutch and overpowered, but the truth is they just couldn't handle being killed by something in a shooting game. I'll glide upwards into the ceiling wielding Universal Remote, hover for a few seconds, and then descend upon them with a vengeance for getting almost everything I enjoy nerfed, as I've been doing for awhile now.
-
4 RepliesIt's a shotgun in case you haven't noticed. They nerfed it from hand cannon range to -blam!-ing shotgun range stop your bitching and adapt
-
Like Bungie said, the Universal Remote negated the ammo nerf for special in the Crucible. This all goes back to Bungie's terrible decision to allow Guardians to spawn with one hit kill weapons on competitive multiplayer.
-
On the bright side, UR makes for a great exotic shard. But I agree with you.
-
I kinda miss seeing those boogers running at me as I mowed them down :(
-
Man... that Junker was a beast.... now it's a Junker
-
Well we can't have exotics, actually be exotic. That would be weird lol
-
It needed a range Nerf but not 75%. At most a 40% would've been fine.
-
I just want it out of my sight
-
2 RepliesI agree, 75% was way too much. If you are used to closer range shotties that are not named PC+1 or CT-D, then not too much will change, but if not then it's a junker once again.
-
4 RepliesI for one am glad it's gone. It's gone from seeing everyone using one a week before, to now after update I might have seen one lol. Good riddance! A primary shotgun with the range of a hand cannon...? No thanks
