It's minimal. Other day a guy kept one shotting me with trip mines. I raised my armor to max. And was able to survive with a sliver of health. If I'm not mistaken your armor that you wear dictates how much more general base armor you get or against a specific kind of attack. Eg extra armor or extra void splash dmg only. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your Chest piece can you give you +1 more armor and that's a all your Armor can provide you, unless it's exotic

Also..but this is just an opinion. Shouldn't one piece of armor be adjustable like switching from arc splash resistance to void. So I don't have to carry a ton of bullshit.
