Bungie may be considering raid matchmaking

It is about damned time! I hope they do this right though!
Full disclosure: I have my own raid team(s) to run the raid with and can raid virtually any time I want. I likely won't use the feature, especially if it is optional matchmaking.
With that stated, I am all for anything that helps remove barriers to accessing content. Sure, it will not be a perfect solution, but nothing in Destiny will ever be perfect. It is a feature that I am sure will work for some, and it may even get more veteran raiders performing the roll of Sherpa for less experienced groups.
Like and bump this post if you think Bungie is doing the right thing by considering matchmaking for raids!

They have considered it. But very doubtful they would implement it. It doesn't really make sense to have an auto-team function in end-game content. Getting a decent team together is half the battle.

1 ReplyRaid Matchmaking should not be a thing. An in-game LFG would be much, much better. Too many headaches would arise from this, especially if it was forced and not optional.

In my opinion the only reason some of us want match making is because some people haven't got full fireteams to do the endgame content with . While I don't agree with matchmaking I just wish there was a feature where you could meet like minded guardians to enjoy the game to the full .

If it's going to be implemented, there needs to be a toggle feature for opting in/out of MM in Raids, otherwise guardians will lose the ability to share checkpoints with less than a full fireteam any time they're not already present in an active raid instance.

I'm a big fan of LFG but this would be a great feature, that I would be using the hell out of. People under estimate people. This game isn't rocket science. By now most people playing this game should be decent.

Matchmaking in Raids is a bad idea... my opinion. Too many trolls out there and one bad player can ruin a Raid team. Someone leaving a Strike early is bad enough, so now someone leaves a Raid, what the rest of us sit and wait and hope they send a quality player to replace the one who left? It also means that instead of a Raid leader being a jerk and booting someone, now the 4 or 5 players will just socially pressure the 1 or 2 douchers to leave verbally instead, so they choose to leave instead of just being booted. There are a lot of new tools that are making finding a raid team a lot easier. We don't need matchmaking, we need a code of conduct for those who wish to raid, and we need a pool of raiders who live by that code. The experienced raiders need to be more willing to teach the learners. The learners need to be willing to be upfront about their lack of experience and willing to follow direction sincerely. Irony of this, is I was thinking of using LFG to find a raid team tonight cause the last 4 or 5 runs I've done within my clan have not been smooth, and I haven't had a smooth run. So I was going to use Destiny Tracker and bungie.net to vet those who send messages for invites to ensure the player had actually beaten the raid before and so on... When you have bad runs too many times in a row it makes you sloppy. I think 1 or 2 smooth easy runs for every 3 or 4 learner runs keeps you sharp, where if you do 5 to 8 sloppy runs, and the last time you did a smooth run was more than a month ago, makes you sloppy.

Instead of blaming LFG or its users people will be blaming bungie. I'll consider myself a casual since my highest isn't even above 330 but I have a fairly large group of friends to play with. Finding a raid is easy, and I don't have to worry about hating certain teammates or getting hated on for it.

It will never happen they can consider it but when it comes to it they won't it just won't happen there are many reason why I hear it would work but there would be super scrubs joining and it would be a train wreck

It's not like you'd have to PUG the whole group people. What if you group up and only need one more? Matchmaking would be convenient.

Because of all of these issues, a matchmaking system would not work for the raids. Any of the raids. What would work: -filtered matchmaking. A system that means AFK, trolling or mic less players and players who don't know what they are doing can't get in. There would also need to be a vote to boot system. -an in game LFG. This is what I would go with. Destinylfg.net is great. However there are about 5 or 6 LFG sites that are all very popular and the community that uses them is all spread through these sites. Meaning that to get a team together if you only post on one site you are only hitting about 1/6th of your target audience. And most people who would love to try the raid don't use these sites. Putting an in game LFG would eliminate most of these issues. Everyone using the same one, and having an raid LFG in orbit, with custom settings and options would resolve most issues this game has. For example, new players could search for new teams learning the raid, or willing Sherpas. Experienced raid veterans could search for teams or set up teams with light requirements and raid completion requirements etc.[/quote]
