Would you like to see a 3rd person option in Destiny?
While playing the mission where you have to sneak in and steal Crota's essence, I realised how well Destiny works as a 3rd person shooter.
Personally, I would love to see a 3rd person option since it would bring something that feels new to a game that has always been a 1st person shooter, and what better time to add the feature than with the upcoming Rise Of Iron DLC?
I know it's a short time until it releases, but going by how quickly and seamlessly it transitions between the two when wielding swords and such, I don't see why It cant be added since the feature is pretty much there already. Just give us a switch to control it :D

A lot of people are commenting on this saying that Destiny is exclusively an FPS. So to save me having to explain that is ISN'T to everyone, I'll just post the reason here.
If destiny was exclusively an FPS there wouldn't be 3rd person elements.
COD is an FPS. You only play the game in first person.
Battlefield Infantry combat is an FPS. You only play the game in first person.
Counter Strike is an FPS. You only play the game in first person.
TF2 is an FPS. You only play the game in first person.
Destiny is a mix of the two. You play both in FPS and 3rdPS.
Like Halo.
Like Battlefront.
Like Skyrim.
Like Fallout.
You cant just pick and choose what defines an FPS to support your own opinion.
Wanting to being able to switch between the two doesn't seem like that ridiculous of a notion in all honesty considering the game is truly halfway there already.[/b]

4 RepliesTwo modes, two completely different types of balancing. This game has literally 0 forms of third person when it comes to shooting, the only third person things are 0 damage emotes, swords which don't shoot, and certain supers. Third Person would completely break the game if it came out, this game wasn't made for third person in mind. It's impossible to balance third person and first person in a game like this, as third person provides so many benefits and would render first person useless.

Go play division if you want a TPS, they would have to change the aiming systems and most gun mechanics to have it be playable in third person

Well, Destiny is and has always been a First Person Shooter. First Person SHOOTER. When you've got a sword equipped, or launching a super, or using an emote, you're not shooting. Therefore, not a first person shooter. It should stay this way.

4 RepliesI'm all for third person for two reasons. I think it's kind of dumb that the only way to peek against snipers who know what they're doing is to go to the corner and emote. Third person doesn't allow anything we can't already do. It just makes it more streamlined. I like the platforming elements they put in the raids, and in sections of the Dreadnaught, but some people find them frustrating. It would be easier to get the hang of those parts if people could see how their characters move and why they're failing the jumps.

Kinda want a " Fun mode " for PvE where you basically take control of your guardian like in Defiance, so you can turn around and everything... I wanna look at my sexy gear... Please...?

Destiny is a FPS, if you want to walk around in third person view just equip a sword.

2 RepliesI love playing 3rd person games, but unfortunately it restricts you to third person in PvP. Then you can always look around corners. Granted you can already do this with swords.

Just run around with a sword, that's about as close as your going to get. Or just play the mission where you have to fill the shard with Crotas soul and snipe the one Deathsinger.
