Yes, Bungie is banning and will ban all players that do not have premium internet, and that ban will not be lifted even if you upgrade later, and this is unfair, we as player bought every expansion, are loyal to Bungie, and we get "stabbed in the back"? Its wrong and unfair, not matter what Bungie says, its still wrong. Premium internet is very expensive, and not everyone can afford it. I used to pay 300 CAD per month, and if I went over the limit, I was charged even more, and that wasn't even premium!, so i had to downgrade, and now where I might get banned for not being able to pay for high internet prices, and I'm not the only one, many many others can't afford premium internet. This is a huge mistake Bungie is making, and instead of looking at their problems first (Like the Peer to Peer connections) , they start banning people like they're the problem. Bungie has made mistakes before, but this is to much, because not only is it people that don't buy or can afford premium, but other countries like China, Australia, Singapore and many other countries will be blocked from playing destiny, and its might not be their ISP, but their government. A game that costs at least 130 CAD for all expansions, and that isn't even the legendary edition. To some people that might not be a lot, but to other countries, it could be very expensive, and having it all taken away from us because we don't have god tier internet is unfair and BS, and as a huge Bungie fan, this really angers me that Bungie would pull a move like this, because i want to be able to continue playing destiny without having to worry about being banned because I cant afford premium. The biggest thing Bungie needs to do is un-ban all the innocent people, then shut Destiny down until they fix this problem, but I know they won't do that until we, the players take action against this, we can make Bungie stop this nonsense , If a country can overthrow a government, then we, and yes WE, the Guardians of Destiny can make Bungie stop what they are doing, stop them from punishing the innocent , and regain our rights!!! Now who is with me?!
Edit 1: First off id like to tell all the people that agree with bungie on banning people to go screw them selves, 2 id like to mention that when i play any other game i have basically 0 lag, (compared to destiny) and i dont red bar in other games (unless everyone in the game is red bar) so Halo 3 , 4 and reach have no lag, BF4 has no lag at all. so it is obviously Bungies broken servers

5 RepliesEdited by Hoops: 7/3/2016 10:06:44 PMA wired nat 1 or 2 connection with 5mbps download is the minimum requirement for online gaming. If you dont have that then you have no business playing online games. However this is easily acheivable. A standard adsl connection with a half decent modem/router will provide this. As for a wired connection, you can buy a powerwall adapter which uses the live power cables in you home to run data. Giving you a wired connection up to 50mbps anywhere you have a powerpoint. Ps Zero lag? What a joke. Every game has lag. Btw Im in New Zealand and my connection is fine.

You know, because of science. So thanks for illustrating your level of knowledge and accuracy. 3) enjoy your ban. Bad connections ruin games, and it is a fact of progress that newer games at going to require better hardware and better connections. Goodbye last gen consoles, goodbye Tim Horton's wifi internet.

1 ReplyHalf the people on here won't understand what your talking about because mom and dad still pay for their internet, food, housing and clothes.
-
1 ReplyBungie blaming players for their own shitty p2p system.
-
2 RepliesIf destiny does this im done. I have good enough internet. I can download movies at 3mbs. 3gbs in about 10 minutes. Its fast enough for any game. My friends however live in the country still. They pay double what I pay just to play video games. Ya wanna chase away a good portion of gamers instead of bringing in actual servers than so be it. Bungies turnin into its old shit stain self again.

3 RepliesBlame the cheating hacking lag switching jerks who appear to "just have a poor connection " and "can't afford a decent connection" that doesn't make them look like the cheating hacks that do ruin the game for the majority. Hmmm....should Bungie make a few people happy? Or the majority happy? Sorry if your legit and dont cheat. If you are a cheater then good! I hope your banned for life.

1 ReplyThey ban you for having shit internet. Destiny doesn't require much bandwith at all.
-
6 RepliesI report red bars. All of them, even my team. Hell, I even reported myself once!

8 RepliesThey will never ban people for their internet lol i personally play on 1.5 mb at a ping of 80 on average .... my experience in pvp is yes the damage referee does work and quite well lol i get booted from games often etc. I don't dominate pvp at all due to slow Internet never have and never will this whole Internet issue is a -blam!-ing joke and a bullshit excuse now yes do you lose a gun fight or two to a person with slow Internet yes no doubt but the same will happen on any fps

13 RepliesAustralian Internet is fine mate. We have fiber optic now

30 RepliesHere is great idea. You could just play another game, and stop giving your money to a company that obviously doesn't care about you. Its not like Destiny is the only game your system can play.
-
2 RepliesIt has nothing to do with bungies servers. If it did, everyone would lag. Since I see one person every few games lagging ALL GAME, it's obviously their problem and they deserve to be banned. You shouldn't play online games in the first place if your Internet is that bad.
-
2 RepliesSo, you are saying bungie should let you ruin the experience for the majority just to make you happy? Makes sense to me. I am sure they will jump right losing thousands of customers just to make you happy.

Gaming is a luxury not a right, if you cannot afford proper necessities then don't play the game.

It aligns with the distance my packets travel to Canada, Germany, and Japan (respectively). It happens that way for a reason. The length of the route, and the path it takes. Where and how you are routed have a dramatic impact on the responsiveness. Dedicated servers won't necessarily solve the problem if you are too far out and/or have poor routing to that server. The same applies to peer-to-peer as well. If there is not stable and responsive routing between the players that are hosting the instance, gameplay will suffer the consequences.

So you want anyone to leave who doesn't agree with you? On a discussion forum? Basically this wall of text is a giant whine, since there's no point to discuss any of it. Sorry about your internet. I hope you don't get banned for it. If you do, it's probably cause you're bringing down everyone else's experience. It's that simple.

Tl;Dr, forgive me if I'm being too assuming... Seems like people love throwing around the term "backstabbing" with Bungie related subjects. Like Legacy consoles, what happened there needed to happen, and people are happy. Bungee didn't stab you in the back, if anything legacy console whiners were doing it themselves. Now people are getting frisky over Internet related bans. Same concept, if you're holding the game down, you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself. In this case, you don't need to mess yourself up, Bungie goes ahead and does it. But then he whiners come in again, complaining that they have too little money and can't afford better wifi, or a new console. I see it as, since you've been with the game for so long, you would think you would have given the effort and gone along with the game right? Well no, you just want to be selfish and hold the game back. This creates issues with Bungie, and you are stabbing them in the back. //rant

3 RepliesIt's not just the internet connection...if you are playing via WiFi, the problem could be your router, router configuration, PS4s mediocre wifi card or a combination of these. If you're still on a DSL connection, you are going to start hating life as a gamer. Maybe not with older games, but just about all of the next gen. stuff requires a LOT of bandwidth. P2P networking requires everyone on the network to have good connectivity and good hardware. Kind of like the PS3, it's not up to the task for next gen. games...not unfair, just the way it is...

It's not a ban it's just getting kicked a lot, and you deserve it

they shouldn't do that until they get dedicated servers....SAT and wifi and some DSL just are not dependable to keep up...those systems can easily meet and start above the minimum standard but can go below at any time especially SAT who are really at a disadvantage because people who live in remote rural areas have no choice....unfortunately there are a small amount of people who purposely play on slow internet (hot spot cowboys) for advantage and ruin everyone's experience so Bungie needs to upgrade before D2 or a large amount of customers will be affected.

there should be a requirement for Internet speed. otherwise the pvp goes down the crapper. Deal with it.
