What bad/single use/unpopular weapon do you love anyway?
For me?
[b][u]The Hothead[/u][/b] -- Yeah it's perks are junk and it was like getting a coupon for McDonald's for winning the Stanley Cup, but it's just fun to me. It's not my top-infused heavy by a longshot, but I keep it around when I want something different. I rarely use it in the crucible, even though I assume that's what it was intended for given the quest it's tied to.
It's a bad weapon, but I can't help but enjoy it. It's fun to throw something different out there every once and a while. Maybe someday Bungie will tweak it so people who are more competitive than I can enjoy it. Unlikely, but it would be nice.
[b][u]Atheon's Epilogue[/u][/b] -- This was THE high rate of fire auto rifle before they were cool. I love ripping apart oracles with it. So many people made fun of this gun back in the day until they saw people who had it clean up the oracles in the Vault of Glass. It wasn't fantastic outside VoG, but I'm betting a year 2 version would have been a lot of fun.
[b][u]Hezen Vengeance[/u][/b] -- The VoG rocket launcher. I didn't get it until a few weeks before The Taken King dropped, but I loved its unique cluster bombs, the MIRV. They felt different somehow. It's been ages since I've used it -- in fact I dismantled it since it wasn't useful in year 2 -- so I don't remember specifically what it was about those cluster bombs that was so satisfying.

Praedyths timespiece for pvp. Praetorian foil for taking down Oracle's. Silimars wrath mk.1 for giggles because it's a worse bullet hose than the epilogue. Pocket infinity prenerf.

1 ReplyMine would have to be Timurs lash (year 1 IB hand cannon [I think]) the perks aren't great but it hits like a truck. Hezen vengeance Underrated (IMO) VoG rocket launcher. It's easy to get and hella fun to use!

Boolean Gemini. I literally [b][i]never[/i][/b] see that gun in Crucible, but the bonus agility/armor is a nice gimmick, and it hits harder than Mida.

The Atheons Epilogue is outstanding in regular Crucible as well. Lately I've grown to like the Anguish of Drystan for PvP use. It's really fun, and once you get used to the atrocious recoil, it's not bad. Completely useless at range, but it shreds up close. I rolled mine with crowd control as well, so multi kills are easy in certain situations.

For the longest time I felt like I was doing it wrong for using Sleeper Simulant, the way the forums and streamers acted over it for not being Gjally. But damn I love that thing. First gun I boosted to 335. People seem to like it better now.
