29 RepliesI picked up the PS4 last year. As a long time PS3 user that casually games (which the majority are) and a LONG time system buyer I have some insight. The younger generations seem to have an ingrained sense of "what's next?", and "gotta have the newest". That comes from a Society that makes equipment obsolete in months if not weeks. So when a younger person buys ( or is given in many cases) a system they have no long term attachment to that system and immediately start planning to buy the next one. On the other hand older gamers consider a system a decent amount of investment and do not feel the need to constantly be looking for the newest thing. They wait for prices to drop, lack of support/games, or for the system to break to worry about upgrading. All of you that keep hammering people that 3 years is enough time to save are probably in that first group ( or may be hard core gamers). A game that is going to stretch for 10 years (maybe) is a pretty new thing so we are seeing the impact of that on people that can't upgrade every couple years. They are allowed to feel left behind and vent a little. Give them some time.
