Body shot damage on snipers should be butchered.
And yes I use snipers almost exclusively. It just makes it way too forgiving to miss. Especially with the massive amount of aim assist in the game. Bungie you say that snipers are supposed to be precision weapons yet 90% of players don't use them that way. The high impact snipers should do the amount that low impact snipers to right now. And while you're at it butcher aim assist too. I'm tired of seeing people complain about my favorite weapon and saying I'm not good for using it or some bull shit like that.

Seriously.... Just avoid sniping lanes. If you sit in a sniping lane long enough to get sniped twice you kinda deserve to die.

8 RepliesSo what your saying is a Super High powered rifle should not hurt if you shoot someone in the body? Getting shot through the chest or even the gut should be pretty devistating if you ask me. I see your point if you clip them in the leg or arm but a body shot is still pretty devistating if you ask me.

Quickest time to kill primary. About .7 seconds. Average time to kill sniper (only body) About .3 seconds. Less than half the time. And since snipers do about 4x damage to the head, their damage in crucible can definitely be reduced. Only in pvp though. For pve the damage should be the same, if not increased.

Careful, pve will surely get hit as well. I am no good at pvp and never get pissed about getting sniped, in fact i respect the skill it takes, but last time pvp had yet another "issue" they nerfed ammo capacity recklessly. They do not separate pvp/pve nerfs on guns. Supers? Apparently that's ok now. But, it blows with the wind in the Sandbox Dev team, no one truly knows

Thank you. I see people who use them as -blam!-ing battle rifles at close range, and end up killing people with spam. If they do that though, Bungie is going to have to remember that if they do that, they have to either put a <1 multiplier, in place for hitting in the body, or amplify the headshot damage if base damage is lower, to even it out.

Low impact ones do 100 damage so it'll still be a 2 shot.

3 RepliesTL;DR I think I'm good at sniping but people say I'm not. That hurts my feelings so snipers should have aim assist and body shot damage nerfed. That way I can show everyone how good I really am at sniping and be cool again to all my online friends.

Yes and while they're at it... Get rid of the stupid accuracy/range "cone" and just let projectiles hit exactly where the reticle is placed. Keep damage falloff.

3 RepliesMake 1k stare/longbow/LDR archetypes shoot like efrideets spear, and make the efrideets like sniper shoot slower still. Basically just increase the over all rate of of all snipers. All snipers should have a base aim assist of 30, with a scope and hidden hand giving you a max of 50 aim assist. This would turn them back into more of a skilled weapon as they are meant to be. Change the short range scopes back to how they were due to above changes Increase ammo capacity back. Start rounds with no special again. All things that could tone down the sniper fad.
