Today we will take an in-depth look at the cabal heirarchy, commanders, and legions. _____________________________________________ The Legions of the Cabal Military: [b][i]Sand Eaters:[/i][/b] -[i]The sooner we're extinguished the sooner they can go home -Commander Zavala[/i] So, these guys are kind of the main army of the cabal on Mars, though not as specialized as the other legions. These guys have one primary objective: To expand cabal control over Mars. Another goal is to quell the guardian "insurgence". [b][i]Dust Giants:[/i][/b] These guys are the elite of the Sand eaters. They are the Cabal's mobile reserve and shock force. The Dust Giants will appear in a deteriorating battlefield. They fight off vex offensives and are reinforcements to a losing battle. [b][i]Siege Dancers[/i][/b] The Siege Dancers are the group of the cabal that work to fortify unsecured areas and take new ground. The commanders of this group are given more freedom to act, probably because of this jobs great unknowns. [b][i]Blind Legion[/i][/b] One of the most harrowing jobs of the Cabal, the Blind Legion's job is to protect Vex artifacts and make sure the Vex don't get them back, and they do so obsessively. [b][i]Skyburners [/i][/b] This is one of the legions we don't know much about, and one of the most interesting. They haven't made many appearances, but what we do know is that they had a command base on Phobos, which upon inspection showed that the apparent first wave of a huge "celestial demolition fleet". This means they're probably bringing in some heavy firepower to take us, and probably try to take out the vex to. __________________________________________________ State of the cabal: Currently, most of the leading commanders of the cabal legions in our solar system have been killed. Also, cabal policies and other political/military topics are under question, and arguing factions (unnamed) have developed, both at Mars and the homeworld(s) of the emperor. What the cabal will do next? I expect send a general of competent seniority to deal with us, along with the rest of the Skyburners fleet. __________________________________________________So that should give you some insight on how the Cabal are structured, but what are they're ranks? Well, while you played Destiny you should've noticed that the Cabal bosses all had some kind of signature or rank by their name like Valus, Primus, or Bracus I think this is how they are ranked: Primus Valus Val Bracus Centurion They're is also, of course, the Emperor, but there are probably higher ranks in between Primus and Emperor. _________________________________________________ Now that we've looked at the ranking system, let's look at the different commanders of the system and how they have died: Primus's: [spoiler] [b][u]Primus Ta'aun:[/u][/b] Ta'aun was the Primus of the Skyburners and bond brother to Valus Mau'ual and Valus Tlu'urn. After the disaster at Phobos, Ta'aun was instructed by Cabal High Command to ram the ship Dantalion Exodus VI into Oryx's Dreadnaught. He marched with a small force of troops to investigate a Hive Rupture. His forces were quickly overwhelmed by the mass of Hive and Taken and soon Ta'aun was alone. He was taken by Oryx shortly thereafter. Ta'aun, now known as the Hand of Oryx, was deployed in Crota's vacant throne in an attempt to stop a team of Guardians from stealing Crota's Essence, but he was unsuccessful. He was sent out once again to destroy The Guardian in the Dreadnaught, along with Baxx, Hand of Oryx, but both Hands were defeated. [b][u]Primus Sha'aull:[/u][/b] Primus of the Blind Legion. Killed by The Guardian in the Legion's Keep.[/spoiler] Valus's: [spoiler][b][u]Valus Ta'aurc:[/u][/b] The main commander of the Dust Giants and Sand Eaters. He was the Cabal Commander to have secured the most land on Mars. He was killed during a Vanguard Strike operation on his land tank Cerberus Vae III. [b][u]Valus Mau'ual:[/u][/b] Valus Mau'aul was bond brother to Primus Ta'aun and Valus Tlu'urn. He was onboard the Dantalion Exodus VI when Ta'aun was sent to investigate a Rupture. Upon discovering that his friend was dead and/or Taken, both Mau'ual and Tlu'urn headed to the Dreadnaught's core to destroy it and (they hoped) Oryx. He was killed during a Vanguard Strike operation. [b][u]Valus Tlu'urn:[/u][/b] Valus Tlu'urn was bond brother to Primus Ta'aun and Valus Mau'ual. He was onboard the Dantalion Exodus VI when Ta'aun was sent to investigate a Rupture. Upon discovering that his friend was dead and/or Taken, both Tlu'urn and Mau'ual headed to the Dreadnaught's core to destroy it and (they hoped) Oryx. He was killed during a Vanguard Strike operation. [b][u]Valus Trau'ug:[/u][/b] He viewed the Reef as a threat and asked to be sent out to face them several times, only for every request to be denied. Trau'ug viewed this as weakness and with his most loyal and zealous followers, slaughtered all other soldiers under his command and marched on the Reef. It is unknown how the encounter with the Reef played out, but Trau'ug and his Broken Legion became prisoner of the notorious Prison of Elders and the Valus was eventually killed by a Guardian Fireteam. [/spoiler] Val: [spoiler] [b][u]Val Aru'un:[/u][/b] A Cabal soldier promoted to Val by the mutinous Valus Trau'ug.[/spoiler] Bracus's [spoiler][b][u] Bracus Tha'aurn:[/u][/b] A Bracus of the Siege Dancers. He was sent to crack into the old Martian Warmind. He was killed during this operation. [b][u]Bracus Tho'ourg:[/u][/b] A Bracus of the Dust Giants legion who secured the Buried City. He was killed when a Guardian infiltrated the Cabal Exclusion Zone [b][u]Bracus Sho'ogurn:[/u][/b] Bracus Sho'ogurn was a Bracus Taken by Oryx. He pushed into the Black Garden along with a coven of Taken and an Echo of Oryx. He was eventually killed by a Guardian mission to cleanse the Garden of Taken. [b][u]Bracus Horu'usk:[/u][/b] Bracus Horu'usk was a Bracus taken by Oryx and promoted into the Court of Oryx.[/spoiler] Centurions: [spoiler][b][u]Noru'usk, Servant of Oryx:[/u][/b] Noru'usk was a Cabal centurion taken by Oryx. At some point tin time, Noru'usk was taken captive and put in the Prison of Elders. With the death of the Taken King, Noru'usk has began to recover his will and plans on breaking out of the Prision and claiming the title of Taken King for himself. [b][u]Sho'oulth, Horror of Oryx:[/u][/b] Sho'oulth was a Centurion taken by Oryx. He now plagues certain parts of Mars and Venus. [/spoiler] Other miscellaneous commanders: [spoiler] [b][u]Vro'ourn, Fist of Oryx:[/u][/b] A Cabal taken by Oryx. While we are not certain, it is possible that Vro'orurn was the captain of Dantalion Exodus VI, as signified by his unique armor. [b][u]The Psion Flayers:[/u][/b] We have faced two sets of Psion Flayers. Ine was deployed by Valus Tu'uarc to use the Martian Warmind to hack into Rasputin. They were destroyed by a Vanguard Strike Team. Another set has been seen in the Prison of Elders. These Flayers have been put down by Guardians seeking to claim the fortune of the Reef.
