What if I want the Necrochasm?
Ok, I'm still learning the little things in Destiny, and now I've discover this year 1 gun.
Just wanted to ask if the process for getting it still the same as in year 1?
Or now that we are heading towards year 3, has it totally changed?
Don't judge if I say I want it, just help me get it and then laugh at me when I keep dying in the Crubicle, lol. (But since I still suck in the Crubicle I may as well have a cool looking gun, right?)

When you go inside the building and approach the 3 acolytes meditating, a Blade of Crota will appear. Kill him for a chance at a Husk of the Pit. If that doesn't work, go to orbit and repeat this process until you get one. [i]*Husk of the Pit is not a normal drop. It won't notify you on screen that you just received a weapon. You have to manually go into your menu and check your primary slots to see if it dropped. Make sure there's room for it, so you don't keep farming for no reason.[/i] 2. Equip your Husk of the Pit and start killing hive. If they haven't changed it from Y1, I believe you have to kill 500 hive with it. 3. After killing the necessary hive, it should upgrade to Eidolon Ally. This step used to require an embalming orb, but Eris no longer sells it, so Bungie removed that requirement. 4. Once you have your Eidolon Ally, run Crota's End on hard mode and defeat Crota as many times as it takes to get a Crux of Crota. [i]*You can technically run CE anytime you want. Having the Husk or Eidolon is not required for the Crux to drop.[/i] 5. Once you have a Crux, put it into your Eidolon and enjoy your new Nechrochasm.

4 RepliesPretty sure I read that necro unlocks in the kiosk once you find crux, so...... Save time and skip the husk business and go for Crota's End? Course, may want to verify. I was always too lazy to farm Crota. Ironically, I do have the Ally. And an Embalming Orb. :P

[u][b]If[/b][/u] you finally get the crux of crota upgrade [armory]eidolon ally[/armory] to get a fully upgraded [armory]necrochasm[/armory]

6 RepliesThe process is the same, as well as the complete and udder waste of time it is to obtain. Bungie was asleep at the wheel with every single moment of this gun. They even "buffed" it a week b4 TTK dropped, rendering it even more useless than it was b4. I implore you, find something else to occupy your time. It's going to piss you off the whole time getting it, and then piss you off even more after you get it. Nothing good comes from obtaining this weapon.

1 ReplyYeah, you still get it the same way. Get a husk of the pit from the swordbearer on the Fist of Crota mission. Then level up the husk to an eidolon ally by using it to kill hive enemies. Then get a Crux of Crota from crota's end hard mode. Each of these steps can be a pretty heavy grind, but stick with it, because necrochasm is a cool gun that's fun to use and actually really good in crucible.

I know you want it for Collectors sake but, the drop on husks is rubbish, lvling Eris is uphill and don't get me started on the RNG rate drop on that crux..... 60+ CEs before one drop for me. Absolute rubbish of gun for all the hard work and time that is spent on getting it. My 2 cents on the matter, I know that some of you Swear by this gun - you guys are just delusional.....
