The sad thing in my case is that there is literally no problem with my internet. I very often have a 1080p youtube video open on my computer while playing and I still get the problem 2-5 times a day. FIX THIS BUNGIE.

Edited by RAIST5150: 5/24/2016 10:12:14 PMHave to remember that Destiny isn't the only service to put something new on the internet in the last 30-60 days. At least 6 major game releases hit the market in that time frame---with all their associated network load. Sony expanded it's Vue coverage all over the place. Several networks are now offering streaming apps to customers that are taking off. Hulu is testing a new platform for OTT use along the lines of Sling and Vue as well--that may be putting additional strain on segments in select areas as well. The point is, there has been a lot to increase traffic in some areas recently--and as a result a lot of areas have been reporting elevated levels of congestion and flat out outages across multiple services and ISP's. It may not be something on Bungie's end that they can address--especially if it is an issue with peering to other players. May need to have a proper analysis of your sessions done by your ISP's tier3 support.

I get this issue CONSTANTLY. I will sometimes go days without this code then bam...it will hit me all day. I haven't been able to play since yesterday afternoon. In the last 2 hrs I have been weaseled about 6 times. Packet loss reads 1% and wireless strength at 100%. I'm going to get an Ethernet cable to see if that helps. I would like to add that I NEVER got this code until AFTER the big update in April. I love this game and I hate getting kicked in the middle of a raid by this error. Majority of the time I get, " contacting Destiny servers...." Then a weasel code. Sometimes I get no warning at all. Reset my router and Xbox with no luck. I've had this issue for over a month now. Very tired of it.

1 ReplyI am having same issues. Most times I have a full green bar connection. Some times no warning or trying to connect just bang your weaseled. Every other game has no issues with connection just Destiny. I get kicked off just standing in the tower doing nothing. Happens way too often. Something is amiss at their end and somebody should investigate.

There have been some outages reported recently, perhaps it is impacting your routing through certain areas. When trunk lines go down, all the traffic has to get rerouted and ramps up congestion. Google fiber lost a Line in Kansas. The month long Verizon strike is wreaking havoc along the north east from Virginia on up. Stalled routing being reported for several ISP's in Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Toronto, the Great Lakes area in general. Central Texas, central and southern California, Atlanta, South Florida... A LOT of disruptions. It is affecting people regionally for various services and not just Destiny. COD, Rocket League, FFXIV, Netflix, a host of complaints because it is impacting transit on the networks used to connect the users' ISP's to those of the content providers. These peering pitfalls happen quite regularly. Most resolve quickly, some take longer to recover. According to a tweet earlier today, the Google Fiber one got held up because they had to get authorizations to close streets or something. The problem has persisted for a couple days apparently, which is making customers quite salty.

2 RepliesHello, I'm sorry to hear that you're having connection issues. Sometimes these are intermittent and just happen once, or for a short period of time, due to network conditions between you, Bungie, and other players. Other times it can be related to your home network, other devices connected to your network, or the connection with your ISP. Take a look at our Network Troubleshooting Guide to learn how to get the optimal network setup for playing Destiny. Even when other games seem to be working fine we've found that Destiny may require a few tweaks to your network to get the best performance. Additionally, here is the Error Code Weasel help page with more information: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12320

1 ReplyWeasel is a client side error code, not on bungies end. Follow the network troubleshoot guide. https://www.bungie.net/en/Support/Troubleshoot?oid=12915
