Hello guardians I am trying to complete the last crucible quest I have. It is get 6+ hand cannon kills in a match. I was never good with hand cannons. Which one should I use? And what playlist would be the easiest? Probably control or clash.
I do not have eysluna however you spell it or hawkmoon
-
3 RepliesThorn. Its by far the most reliable around, and it can't really be considered a scrub gun anymore since its burn is non existent. But its still the best hc around, no phantom rounds, excellent range and accuracy and reload+ stability is very good.

Eysluna easly best hand cannon
-
That's not that hard but this is coming from a hand cannon enthusiast from Year One. If you are really struggling then my advice is to lower your current morals, grab a Last word (or a Hawkmoon) camp like a little bitch and mow people down. You'll get your 6 kills soon enough but do not focus on any game objectives and ONLY use your hand cannon.

1 ReplyThorn has good range last word should be easy. My fave hand cannon is the iron banner one finnalas peril Best way to use them is stay by cover and pop in and out taking shots and you should out shoot anything unless you get domed by a sniper. Jump shooting works really well too

The Last Word is all you need

5 RepliesEdited by Artimise Flare: 5/22/2016 4:49:31 AM***WARNING WALL OF TEXT AHEAD***
As a long time HC user, what you enjoy in terms of HC archetype will be extremely subjective, and will vary from person to person. As for play lists, the ones I enjoy playing in are as follows Control Rift Rumble (admittedly, I'm not great in this play list, but it is fun) For me, I enjoy the 81 Impact archetype of HC's which the following HC's fall under. (You may look them all up here at the armory) HawkMoon Ace of Spades (Hunter Exclusive Exotic) Eyasluna (Crucible Reward) Finnala's Peril (IB Exclusive) Hakke Gaheris-D (Gunsmith Order/package) Imago loop (Strike specific drop) Byronic Hero (PvP Vendor) The Devil You Know (Vanguard Rep-up package) Her Revenge (Challenge of the Elders reward or House Judgement rep-up package) Each one of these have a moderate rate of fire, and can potentially 2-3 shot kill moderate to low armor Guardians in PvP, provided you score precision shots. These HC's strike a nice balance between rate of fire and impact. The next step up, with a comparable ROF but slightly higher impact would be the 87 Impact archetype of HC, however, you'll likely be looking for a while to get one with a lot of range modifiers, as their base range is pretty low (a trademark of most Omolan HC's) The Vanity (FWC Vendor) Omolan Uffern-HC4 Keep in mind, exotic HC's excluded, what makes or breaks an HC is the perks. Increasing the range should be your top priority, while limiting reductions to stability and magazine capacity (Especially among low magazine capacity HC's; EXCEPTION: I've heard people who look for HC's with Luck in the Chamber, and purposely looking to reduce their magazine capacity to increase the chances of the Lucky Round to Proc). Increased range improves the weapons aim assist while also tightening the invisible "cone" of fire that HC's experience at range, thus making them more reliable and accurate at further distances. I have The Devil You know with the following perks Outlaw (to help with the lower reload speed, Range Finder would also be excellent here I feel) Small Bore (Rifled barrel would be preferred here, IF you are comfortable with the reload speed, if not, The stability is pretty solid, so Reinforced barrel may be nice. Hammer forged is also an option that penalizes you in either stability or reload speed less, but at the cost of giving you less boost to range.) Grenadier (Hidden hand or Third Eye I think would have been good here) Ultimately, I recommend that if you're not familiar with using HC's, go out into patrol and practice against the Fallen on Venus. Try to score precision shots ONLY, the Fallen have a comparable head size to that of a Guardian, and with enough practice, you'll soon find yourself not even looking at the "iron sights" as you automatically line up your shots. If you have trouble lining up your shots, focus on the front "post" (dot) of your irons and trust in your peripheral vision to judge and know that you've got your targets head lined up. Keep doing this, and eventually you'll develop a "feeling" for how each HC behaves, and will be stringing head shots back to back in no time. Of the ones I listed, the ones with the best base range stats are as follows, within the same archetype that are NOT exotic. 1. Imago Loop (Strike specific drop) Base Range: 40 2. Eyasluna (Crucible Reward) Base Range: 38 3. Finnala's Peril (IB Exclusive) Base Range: 37 These HC's will require less to really push their range to solid competitive levels, leaving you more room to choose different perks to make up or enhance other areas of the HC to your liking. Hope this helped.
4 RepliesNot on your don't have list: Ace of Spades, Thorn, HC4 from the gunsmith, Down and Doubt from the vanguard vendor.
-
If you need to pick up a good hand cannon quick...there are 2 vendor versions from New Monarchy and Future War Cult that are really good and have solid rolls for PvP
-
Last word is my choice. Its fun, takes a bit of practice to get good with it. My brother loves the Lord High Fixer with Luck in Chamber. Another good handcannon is the Imago Loop
-
Use last word in control because its the game that lasts longest scorewise..
-
Thorn is also quite ok, it's not as powerful as before but still has good base stats.
-
Edited by JimmyGTI: 5/21/2016 1:37:24 PMHawksmoon is nice with some extra range in the roll.
-
3 RepliesI most enjoy using Eyasluna, Hawkmoon, and my Lord High Fixer. Really want to get my hands on The Devil You Know.
-
The vanity is probably the best available. A scientific role makes it better.
-
I honestly have had better success with the faster rof hand cannons (water star, revelator, and kumakutok) don't notice any point blank phantom bullets
-
2 RepliesHer Mercy is pretty good if you get luck in the chamber. Just try to engage at short to midrange and take your time to line up the shot.
-
3 RepliesUse tlw, thorn or hawkmoon. Duh.
-
rift or control no doubt and tlw or luna or any you feel comfortable with
-
Also i think rift is the best to get the kills. It's kind of a douche move but most players are focused on the spark. So you can hit them while they're distracted trying to get the spark, trying to kill your runner, or trying to protect their runner.
-
Grab any of them. Head into a playlist that isn't going to end because of a bunch of kills (like Zone Control). Get 6 kills. That last part might be difficult considering what you wrote, so lead all of your engagements with grenades. You can also follow other guardians around and steal their kills. You could also camp. Some of the above might not be considered "sportsmanlike", but it beats boosting for it.
-
If you get a chance take a look at my hunter. I have a Kumakatok HC4 that I got from the Gunsmith a while back with Luck in the Chamber, Rifled Barrel and Life Support. Even before I had these perks unlocked the natural stats of the weapon was enough to get a decent amount of kills in the Crucible.
-
2 RepliesI would have to agree with cwalk. As for specific guns though I used the iron banner hc with luck in the chamber- high impact works well with team shooting and follow up sniper shots. Then switched to the last word cause it just seems like the easiest one to get kills with if you are relying only on you're primary.
-
1 ReplyPlay control so you know where the other team is at. Follow teammates around and team shot them. Since hand cannons do large portions of damage at a time you can steal the kill from your teammates. Let your teammate initiate the attack and then clean it up. Or just use thorn and sunsinger and piss everybody off. Combining sniper body shots and hand canon body shots also works

1 ReplyStolen pride is very good imo. From house of judgment packages
