As it stands, warlocks are objectively the best class. Why is this? They have abilities that translate extremely well in both pvp and pve. Lets just take a quick look at why the claim i just made is true.
Stormcaller: in pve, the is one of the best add clearing supers. The chaining abilities, along with the blinding effect of landfall can be very effective. Along with this, you can equip the right perks so that you will always have a grenade or melee ready to be used.
In pvp, stormcaller is considered one of the best supers, with its grenades (mainly the deluge grenade) being quite potent.
Sunsinger: in pve, we all know why sunsinger is good. Self res. It is extremely rare to see a sunsinger run any thing but self res. In pvp, a radiant skin set up allows for increased survivability and with firebolt grenades, you can clear a field of foes.
Voidwalker: the recent buff to voidwalker has pushed it to too tier. The grenade recharge is now fast enough to allow for a grenade every 4 seconds if you merely hit an enemy with your melee, or if you kill one with your grenade. Combine nova bomb with bloom and you can clear a decent amount of adds as well. In pvp, voidwalker is pretty much the same, as scatter grenades can oneshot, and if they do oneshot, you will get a grenade back in 4 seconds.
Now, am i saying warlocks are overpowered? NO! They are fine! But, the other subclasses are lack luster, for the reason that not every subclass is always viable. Warlocks dont have this problem. Every single subclass is viable no matter the circumstances.
How can we fix this? We cant take the bungo route of "NERF ALL THE THINGS!" We just cant. What we can do, it get buffs for the other lack luster subclasses to allow them to all be viable in both pvp and pve.
First off: Buff all super damage in pve by at least 100%, preferably 200% to 400%. By simply buffing super damage. This is so simple. Make all minions of the darkness take (x) more damage. Same thing happened to shotguns.
Lets start with hunters:
Gunslinger is a top tier pvp class, with golden gun being a great super. In pve, golden gun is useless, and even with celestial nighthawk, it doesnt deal enough damage to truly warrant its usage. So, my suggestions
Increase GG damage in pve by earlier stated damage %
remove circle of life perk, or buff it greatly. my suggestion: make it either "when in golden gun, throwing knife hits score increased time". Or, as earlier said, just completely remove this perk.
Increase GG time by ~2-3 seconds, remove the time decrease when using symbiotic helmet thingy
Allow all knife headshots to proc a default bleeding effect, the burning knife perk is slightly reduced to compensate
Make keyhole default, replace with a new perk.
Allow for precision damage when using golden gun.
Bladedancer:
FIX THE FING HIT DETECTION BUNGO!
as it stands, blade dancer is meh. It sucks in pve, a la the super damage buff. In pvp, its....meh. If hit detection is fixed, it will be much better
My suggestions for Bd:
Increase arc bolt grenade damage
Increase time gained from encore
Increase invisibility time by 2-3 seconds for each invisibility ability.
I dont know what else to do for it really. Any hunters willing to give their ideas?
Nightstalker:
It is doing its job. Its a support class that a viable pvp class, allowing for multiple perks that buff the character in positive ways.
Decrease the time it takes to tether targets
Increase time while using quiver
Make predator deal a slight bit of damage when it traps
Again, im not a hunter, so im not entirely sure what the class needs. Im open to suggestions
Titans:
Oh boy, here we go.
Sunbreaker:
Bungo! WHY U DO DIS! All sunbreakers needed was an armor reduction, and maybe a cooldown to regen, but not the slower hammer speed, reduced blast radius, and other things
Buff back the HoS blast radius, and remove all but the armor and regen cooldown nerfs.
Reduce the amount of energy needed to suncharge
Fix suncharge hit detection
Strikers: Strikers are in a decent place currently. They are not in need of a nerf (contrary to what the forum believes). They have arguably one of the best grenades, and quite a good neutral game. They are powerful in pvp, and with a damage increase to FoH, they would be very good in pve. My suggestions are very alight buffs.
Increase the amount of charge gained when using amplify
Increase the time flash bags last, or make them last longer with the perk that increases aftershock timings.
Defender:
Easily the best pve class, defenders fall short in pvp. (Pretty much the exact opposite of strikers)
Increase grenade and melee recharge speed while in WoD
Allow force-barrier to stack with blessings of light
Cause any enemy inside your bubble to take 210 void damage when WoD is first activated. This is simply an area clear, so that you dont place down and get killed instantly, since there were 3 shotgunners next to you
What do you guys think?
Edit: we are trending :)

10 RepliesEdited by DoomSlayer828: 4/26/2016 3:02:37 PMBungie judges class imbalances by the overall KD. Right now as it stands overall Hunters are at the top. You cannot expect perfect balance between three different classes and nine different subclasses. It will just never happen and Bungie has already admitted so.
-
Sounds great to me. The class imbalance has always been one of my top three issues with this game and is the biggest reason why I hate going into the crucible. As previously stated this game just doesn't like my titan.
-
1 ReplyAll I read is... WARLOCK MASTER RACE!!!
-
2 RepliesI think bungie was pretty adamant towards not making pve and pvp changes separately. That is very unfortunate.
-
1 ReplyLaaaame and unreasonable
-
2 RepliesIf you could just leave sunsingers alone, yeah, that'd be great... we already got our flame shield nerfed... not to mention, if a sunsinger is running self-rez in PVP (which most of them do.) It usually ends up with them getting sniped, golden-gunned, or Smashed, maybe a shot+gun nade combo. (However the ones that do run radiant skin, usually will end up -blam!-ing your shit up, especially if they have dual fusions (assuming they can aim them) and the 2 charge melees.)
-
I deleted my titan 3 days ago and made another warlock. Day 1 warlock and I wanted another one lol
-
3 RepliesI still think fist of havoc is underpowered, i mean nova bomb has a higher radius, 100 times less risk to use it, its like hey, im going to pick up that striker titan and throw him 60 yards for 4 kills instead of one panic kill
-
6 RepliesFirst of all i don't main a warlock BUT having a grenade every 4 seconds is broken. Firstly, nerf that time to 15 seconds (since grenades can be used when at max discipline is 25 seconds) Secondly, i main a hunter Blade dancer: - back stab: add onto the perk when you gain a kill it will decrease stab cooldown - arc bolt: increase damage to take down shields reduce arc bolt range to compensate - showstopper: increase damage radius by 1-2 metres to provide more reasons to use Night Stalker: - spike grenade: increase damage radius (maybe 1-2 metres) and buff damage by 1-2 points - Courage of the Pack: increase stacks to 6 or 7 - Predator: keep sticks to walls but each person you tether increases shadow shot by 1-2 seconds Gunslinger: - Swarm grenade: increase AoE by 1-2 metres - Deadeye: although it provides more accuracy maybe add more incentive like ADS increases range and allows you to see through walls (might be broken) - Circle of life: change perk to getting a kill increases cooldown reductions for all abilities by 20-40% for 10 seconds - Key hole: needs a buff but i don't know what to do - Over the horizon: keep increase range but also add increases duration by 2 seconds for each kill earned while Golden Gun is active Those are my thoughts on the skill trees (BTW any perk i didn't talk about i think doesn't need a change)
-
Where to start... This is the problem when one thing stands above everything else and you have a no nerfs mentality. I wouldn't want to play a game that was all about supers over gunplay. It's one dimensional and boring. Some of the stuff you suggest is good, but the strongest current thing can't just become the new baseline every time you make a change
-
Nice I like it but you could add some hit detection fixs to the strikers shoulder charge because I've experienced this issue more than once in the crucible where a hit would just not register for some reason
-
If you are using firebolt grenades in PVE, you are doing something wrong....
-
3 RepliesPretty sure the actual game data doesn't support that idea. Every stat I've seen shows Hunters with the best overall KD.
-
3 RepliesHow do you get grenades in four seconds for void walkers?
-
Laughing out loud at the moment.
-
I feel a slight disturbance in the .... classes?
-
Add in the hit detection fix for strikers shoulder charge as well and they are good.
-
Titans are underpowered and forgotten.
-
2 RepliesI always love how people simply state that Warlocks are the most powerful class as if it is an indisputable fact. In PVE, how often have you EVER heard anyone say 'good...looks like we have enough Warlocks to get this done!' Not since the days of pushing Atheon had anyone uttered those words. Take a look at the Destiny Tracker data and the Gaurdian.gg data regarding PVP. In general 6v6 Crucible, none of the Warlock subclasses are at the top of the pile. The Stormcaller performs well, but Sunsinger gets slaughtered by just about everyone. In the 3v3 game modes, the Sunsinger shines but is still regularly beaten by the Bladedancer....you know....the subclass that you called 'meh'. I agree that most of the Subclasses could use a few buffs. I just find it ridiculous when people go on about how powerful Warlocks are when the actual game data do not support this supposedly universally known fact.
-
Only issue I could see here is the Golden Gun time increase. Maybe not quite 3 more seconds, namely. It's just that the forums would utterly explode if you were able to have that extra time and 4 shots. The salt would be almost as intense as it was when sunbreakers were strong :P Everything else is a great idea. I really like the PvE damage buff idea.
-
Remember when the raid cameo it and warlocks were considered the worst class?
-
1 ReplyOf anything We need titans and hunters to be more like warlocks so to speak... By that I mean buff the classes to work as well as warlocks do.
-
I have played as all 3 characters. Warlocks are beast but I hated the jump/glide. My fave is a titan. Not op by any means but still super fun and awesome.
-
1 ReplyOP is right bungie. Nurf all hunters
-
For raids? No. You can do an entire raid EASILY without a single warlock on your team. Doing a raid without a titan or Hunter? Definitely ups the difficulty.
-
Self res warlocks are rejected in almost all activities
