How about a 33% nerf?
Crucible went from 3 heavy drops per match to 1. Would a middle ground 2 drops per match be so bad?
EDIT: Because I'm sick of repeating myself.
Everyone has different reasons for wanting/not wanting heavy. For me, I like the objective oriented game within the game having to manage heavy drops. It takes away from the game when it's missing and drives things toward a constructed middle ground where folks are "more comfortable because getting killed by heavy sucks" or "it turns the match around." Hell, supers turn matches around, why not nerf those out too....right??!! If all I cared about were easy kills I'd just take my newly powered warlock into pvp and storm trance-clean up everyone. "Easy kills" has nothing to do with it and that term is moot any way because it's available to everyone.

The current heavy setup is actually pretty nice coined with the more limited ammo. It let's a loosing team grab it and have a chance to do some catchup but won't let a dominating team grab heavy and use it all to just control the heavy and be nearly unstoppable. Yeah supers are strong. Personally I think no orbs should be dropped in pvp so ya gotta earn your super with time and kills

With reduced heavy drops, they need to alter the gunsmith weapon requirements and heavy bounties.

6 RepliesEdited by Lord Remoss: 4/28/2016 2:07:03 PMI never get heavy ammo in Crucible... Getting sword kills for the exotic quest is nearly impossible. Any tips? Beat them to death with the hilt. Got it.
-
I wouldn't mind it. And personally I think they needed to leave the special and heavy ammo capacity where it was in PvE.
-
I think 2 drops, at 4 & 8mins in 6v6 and 1 at 5mins in 3v3 would be balanced.

6 RepliesThis game is perfect right now. 1 heavy per match is actually amazing. Why? Because people don't just camp around heavy like the pussy they are. I would very much rather die from an asshole rather then a pussy...
-
I hate it how they wanted people to stop having heavy ALL the time, when they just made it so you HAVE to camp with heavy to get kills
-
How about, 2 times heavy ammo drop. You can only pick it up once? Incase you missed the first round, you grab a second chance. That way some silly bounties can be completed.

6 RepliesHere is a crazy idea. Why not have 0 heavy drops, but instead everyone starts with heavy ammo and it doesn't go away when you die. Not a lot, 3 rockets, 1 mag of HMG and whatever much of sword ammo. Keep the swap thing with special where if you switch in game you lose it. So that way people can decide when would be the best time to use it. Burn it all right away? Get a couple easy kills for catch up? Use a sword to block sniper shots? Just a thought

Prefer it with only one. Cleaner, more tactical. Same with the Special changes.
-
I like it with only one heavy spawn
-
Heavy still in the game and it still kills your reasoning sucks.
-
I went from a potential 12 rockets per match to only a potential 3. A bit much, Bungie. Signed for a middle ground (how about a potential 6?)
-
12 RepliesIt's not a problem in trials, just wave at the heavy round, if they wave back, pick up the heavy and blow their naive little brains out ;)
-
3 RepliesHow about no heavy
-
But heavy ammo is cancer?
-
Moot POINT. Not term, point. Moot point.
Otherwise, I completely agree with you.
-
If it was 1 heavy drop and they kept ammo the same then it would be fine. But they did both.
-
OR remove it. From 3v3's and rumble at least.

Contrary to what the anit-heavy drop folks responding here in this thread (just as one example) might have people believe, there are still plenty of folks in favor of heavy. There are some interesting alternate ideas in several posts here too, for differing ways to implement/exclude heavy in the pvp game or portions of the pvp game. All I'm asking is that some attention be given to the topic by Bungie, if they do in fact listen to what's said in the forum. I realize the decision making is more statistical based, but I have also seen the company state they listen to topic matter here. I imagine we all might see some more pvp Bungie stats posted at some point in time between now and the fall update, I don't know, but it makes sense and it might not be until that point there's any furthering on potential decision making. This thread is just one more piece out there for what it's worth. **This ^ is for Bungie's edification. I will not respond to anyone trolling this post with more of the anti-heavy sentiment or BS, so if that's your desire......post away but know I'm not going to waste any more time on that.

They should just have allot of separate cruicble matches. They can have for example by name. Year 1 matches which is regular cruicble settings before nerfs. An Year 2 matches with present nerfs. But by all means a heavy weapon is needed an shouldn't be discluded. Unless they have heavy only for PVE, then this community will still find a way to cry.
-
I think it should spawn several times a game but only one person can pick it up. Also no announcement when it's coming. Basically it should be like in halo with power weapons except you get to choose your weapon.
-
Id rather all heavy is removed entirely honestly. Though I can see why 1 a match is okay. (Shouldnt be any Heavy in Skirmish, Salvage or Rumble, maybe Elimination and Trials too).
-
Crucible has turned into a battle for heavy ammo. And the team with the most heavy ammo usually wins the close match now. Heavy is now more of a factor in determining who wins games than it's ever been. You can thank all the whiny, bed wetting ToO and skirmish cry babies for breaking PvP.
-
Crucible is in a better place with only one heavy drop. It's better this way so matches can go a lot smoother.
-
Good riddance to the heavy personally. Nothing is more irritating and rage inducing when a Titan runs around with a machine gun on a 15 kill streak.
