Agreed and whoever thinks this is pay to win really doesnt know what pay to win is if anything those buying are at a disadvantage because 1 they are paying for light level 3 gear 2 the perks are no different from those ingame. 3 they still have to grind to get the gear at a higher light or grind for gear to infuse. So definitely not an advantage they will be effectively buying a costume or skin.

It isn't pay to win, but it's one step further from purely cosmetic items and the pattern's pretty clear. Ships, emblems, gestures and shaders are cosmetic, armour and weapons aren't.

It's kind of pay to win, seeing as how you can boost your faction rep gain by paying for a better chance at the consumable

Dude the new infusion rule. Anything you infuse becomes 100% the level of gear you infused into it. So 3 infused with a 320 the level 3 becomes a 320. What you want is a drop from these tresures to be max level or 320+ dude! That would make the game pay to win silly. Since you can use silver to get treasures. Thats why everything is level 3 so you can buy as many packs as you want but you will not become superior to a guardian that spends nothing. And you are still forced to do ebd game activity

My Two cents in the new micro transactions. Well from my point of view this is not pay to win, YET. No I'm not going to post the frog analogy once again, just hear me out. Destiny got grinder and grinder over the time, nothing was more grinding than TTK, so what i predict is that the drop rates will suck, just like they suck right now, so in order to get stuff you still need too play a lot therefore not pay to win, but you can buy stuff to look like just the way you want and the things you buy are RNG (OMFG!). Also you can get buffs for rep (kind a advantage) My point is this, did you guys remember back in 2k7 when the dlc's started? a lot of people was mad about it but a lot of people said "nah, it is just map packs and for 15 bucks it is worth", so jump to 2k14-15 what do we got? Half made games (bugged as fvck) sold for 60 bucks and the rest of it by 30-60 dollars DLC. This is very different from the 90's expansion packs. So Bungo (actvision) is doing the same now, getting us used to it, testing it, if it works good keep pushing the limit. If it does not work, leave it. I guess bungie will never get a real pay to win like (10 bucks for 335 gally), but they will charge you if you want to skip the grind, this is going to happen believe me. Picture this with me: you never get the helmet that you want so much, because the drop rates are ludicrous, but you can try to buy one and then infuse with some other one that you do not like so much, this way saving you the grind. I get this is a business and they need to make money, but I'm not ok with it so I'm not buying silver, if you are ok with it just buy it, that is not a problem. Just remember that actvison just bought king (candy crush). To sum up, they are pushing the limits in micro transactions too see what is our limit, have this in mind. maybe in the future if people are willing to pay for a extra run each week in the raid they will sell it, of three of coins, things that might reduce the grind time and in order for this to work the game must get grinder and grinder. So not pay to win, but the lazy or the ones susceptible ones will have it easier. Just like clash of clans, sort of. TL;DR: bungie is testing the limits with micro transactions, not pay to win yet, but one day maybe.

even if they did be able to be bought at 330, or 335, it wouldn't be pay to win either. pay to win means that people paying money have a clear advantage over the players that don't pay. something like certain perks or special abilities that you could only get on bought gear would be an example of pay to win

A lot of ppl weren't paying attention during the stream. "Omg, you can keep buying sterling packages until you get the perfect rolls. That's pay to win!" What they would have noticed if they were paying attention is that the armor you get from those packages comes with no stat roll whatsoever. They absorb the stats from whatever you infuse into them.
