No, this isn't a rant. It's a number of general queries for the kind folk at Bungie.
1. Could you share data with players on the requests for PoE's return as opposed to the return of VoG and CE?
2. What was the developer's logic behind opting for PoE? Simply put, could you explain why you felt PoE was more important to give fans as opposed to VoG and CE?
3. Will VoG or CE ever make a return in the future? With the new expansion out in Fall and Destiny 2 out next year, it seems like both raids are pretty much retired at this point. Could you comment on this?

1 ReplyI don't think this was ever a "if you have one choice, what would it be?" situation. I think this was a "what can we possibly do with our resources?" deal. Though PoE was the last thing I would ever want to see brought forward, I understand why it was chosen and am not angry about it. Simply put, it was probably the easiest thing to do in a timely fashion to stem the loss of players to new games in the pipe. Bungie had to do something, anything, and this is it. It won't make everyone happy. It will satisfy some. It will also give everyone something to do in the form of new quests and a strike. It does give us Winter's Run, though I doubt we see that often in the strike rotation - or at least, not as often as one would hope to see refreshed material (at first). The light level rise is inevitable. Anyone complaining about having to re-level stuff just doesn't understand what they are playing. That's what the game is about - loot and leveling. You can't say "There's nothing to do!" and "Hey, I have to re-level stuff!" in the same breath. I am disappointed about VoG and CE not getting reworked, but at the same time, I'm not sure how throwing Taken in there would fit anyway. I'm pretty worn out on the whole Taken thing anyway, and there is a pristine quality to VoG I wouldn't violate with a lazy whitewash. To a lesser degree I feel the same about CE. At least these two raids had some semblance of story and progression to them, and tacking on enemies matters. PoE? It never made sense anyway... a prison full of enemies with weapons who come and go as they please?

4 RepliesI think that maybe what they're trying to do is bring back PoE to try to make it better for the community because the majority of us didn't really seem to like it back then. Hopefully it will be better, I already like the idea of getting score from kills and all

I've never seen destiny post stats except for that one time they put the trials stats in the weekly update and I'm pretty sure it backfired on them. I haven't seen them share stats since that one time.

They know that most people didn't like it in the first place and I am fully convinced they're trying to get people to quit playing so they are doing a perfect job of that

3 RepliesMost posts that I've seen on the subject either wanted, A. All year one brought forward. B. Wanted only the raids brought forward. I can't remember ever seeing people strictly asking for POE, which is by far the weakest and least popular year one end game content.

Lol, for the past 5 months everyone was like "fûck you bungie bring our old content back" and now everyone is like "fûck you bungie old content is not new" This community is why we can't have nice things...

Edited by TRDoug: 3/26/2016 11:55:15 AMThey don't know. They clearly don't know anything about the game All they do is bob for ideas out of Luke Smith's butt Anything we ask for, they do the complete opposite

Should do this again as a poll I wanted old content reworked in a new way. Now that being said I'm ok with Poe returning the way it is . What I wanted was strikes, vog, Crota, and Poe. Brought to current light lvl and introduced with new gear reflecting each of their own particular identity. Mainly adding sword, 1 exotic, a ghost, and any weapon classes the raid/activity didn't have at the time. And it looks like they have done exactly that with Poe albeit the taken-ness. We won't know if that's entirely true until it drops though. So I'm ok with Poe returning and look forward to it especially considering the scorecard system. Also the winters run strike. Now I do have to say I feel it's lazy and no offense to the live team because it's not lazy for them to come up with this of a group of only 1-10 guys. I mean it's lazy of bungie as a developer to only drop this much content after so long especially after they promised to drop content at a faster clip this year and more of it. If though after a month or two they drop Crotas end or vog along with a new strike like they have done Poe I'd be ok with that. Now I'm not ok with them coining it as free it sets me on edge especially after they comment " included in purchase of ttk". It's just a poor way of wording it I think. Honestly after spending $60 destiny vanilla+ $35 expansion pass+ $60 destiny vanilla(Xbox 1)+ $60ttk+ $60ttk(2nd console in house gaming)= $275 in less than 2 yrs as an individual gamer there is no reason any of this should be coined "free". Just my 2€

There is no data because no one has asked for POE. Activision is the devs logic. They own the studio, they have the final word on everything. Probably if we keep asking and people keep quitting they might bring them back. Of course they do not want to bring it forward because nobody would be playing KF any more and since the whole of TTk is based around this shit raid the chances of that happening are extremely slim.

Um... I don't work for bungie but I do know that although that it wasn't as requested as vod or CE it was requested plus it addresses a few community concerns such as lfg and over complication and significant LL increase. By needing only 3 man teams and being able to complete in "35" minutes and guarantying 335 loot with the challenge mode. Now this is not my personal opinion it's just a list of facts. And I doubt they even have a record of the forum posts that request certain things over others.
