Bungie should change that stats from k/d to wins and zones captured.
People post about their k/d is misleading and tainted.
Here is a simple argument... is it more important to win the match or protect your k/d stats?
How many time you see players don't cap zones nor pick up the sparks etc. Those are the same people is protecting their k/d stats.
Let's make it simple would you sacrifice to win for the team??? Would you die so your spark runner can light them up? Would you hold the zone so your team can have an advantage???
Here is the truth the question is can you handle the truth???

Unless of course all you play is clash. In clash or a death match game mode pvp is the absolute only thing. If you don't understand why I don't have time to explain. In any objective based game. Kd is a secondary goal. But regardless you can't help your team capture a control point, carry the spark or do anything if you're always waiting for respawn.

Funny
-
K/d actually means your average kill to death ratio. Duh.
-
Kd isn't everything but it's something. I understand some people like to mess around but having a negative kd is has no excuse.
-
1 ReplyIt's all about that PvE KD!
-
Here's the thing: It's not one or the other. I always play the objective, and my K/D is 1.3 on all characters. It's not an MLG-caliber K/D, but it's pretty good. If you can't help your team and also keep your K/D above 1, you probably just aren't very good. It always upsets me to see slayers who don't play the objective. They're being selfish assholes in a team game. But running at a control point just to die is also bad news for the team. Capturing relics when you already have a player down, zoned or otherwise unavailable is bad news for the team. There's a difference between playing the objective and just feeding the enemy team points.

Edited by Byu Hoops: 2/20/2016 3:03:07 AMImagine a game of clash One team all has 2.0 KD Other team all has 0.02 KD Who wins?
KD does mean something
Classic post from a pissed off negative kd player. Most likely caused by constant rejection from lfg.
-
everything you just asked is what i do... i make sure the team wins even if that means i die.. you can tell how people do in objectives by looking at the score, loads of kills will be out pointed by a couple of dunks, and a few captures
-
7 RepliesYou know, you're right. That must be why in trials teams with a .5 KD beat a team of 2.5 KD You're soooooooooooooo smart
-
4 RepliesAnyone else notice that when people say kd isn't important their main is always negative? Not being mean. Js your opinion would be entirely different if you had a positive kd.
-
Capturing zones is overrated. Much better to just cap and hold 2 zones
-
1 ReplyMy kd is 0.9 and i like it, a goal to make it positive and get higher but im not too bothered i just have fun, i sometimes mess around just dancing through the match to see if anyone joins in but they just kill me and sometimes im hungry so i just watch myself get killed while i eat lol
-
I think the k/d importance rolls over from CoD. I feel its most important, eventhough there are so many other things that are. I feel that way from being wrapped up in that game for years. As such, thats how i feel about ELO, or whatever, as well. My ELO is horrible. Does it mean im a bad player? Nah. Really, there is no real and true accurate way to measure how good someone is.
-
K/D is the only reliable metric to go by. I don't understand why you just won't accept that???! Sure, it's not the ONLY statistic that factors in a win or a loss for any given game, but generally a good k/d means a good player.
-
means everything
Fixed.
-
Win/loss ratio doesnt mean anything because you could easily run with a full fireteam even though you arent very good. Kd reflects individual skill.
-
Considering all game types are basically TDM, yes they matter. But, KD doesn't matter all that much.
-
Almost all of these gamemodes are TDM/DM of some sort, so K/D does matter a little bit. Of course a win/loss ratio would be nice to see
-
Edited by xPLASMAx21: 2/20/2016 2:23:32 AMI play Clash more than Control, so maybe it matters more to me, but it should be noted that K/D DOES matter in Control. After all, you can capture as many zones as you want but if you aren't alive to defend them you're still going to lose. It might be 60% control, but its still 40% slayer.
-
Didn't you know? K/d means everything in a game you won't give two shits about in a year! It's VERY important!
-
With SBMM in place it really does mean nothing.

Edited by zJBombz: 2/20/2016 12:26:29 AMLol this is an idiot who just runs into the zone caps it dies and then the team simply re caps due to his lack of sufficient k/d gun skill. Repeat this process and you lose the match. You then cry and blame something other than your stupidity of not knowing map awareness with simple strategic plays.
-
4 RepliesYes, I so agree! I am top 8% zones capped and neutralized. Tired of losing games because idiots don't cap. Lost one just now became stupid idiots are trying to kill enemies in a bubble. We were ahead and the bubble was not even in a zone. God damned fools. People are totally stupid I swear.
-
3 RepliesBut what if I told you, I capture zones all the while protecting my k/d?
-
1 ReplyWins in Clash, Skirmish, Elimination (thus Trials too) and Rumble are directly tied to getting kills...............
