I still play a bit. When did I say I didn't?
And sure, yr 1 players have loads of coins, no big (unless you go on a crazy spree, trying to get that helm to drop and it doesn't). I'm just trying to think of it from a yr1 player's perspective.
Lastly, I can't think of a more boring thing to do than farm yr 1 content, while at high levels. I did the VoG again for the NTTE quest and it was fun as a retro thing but I can't fathom farming it.

Saying you don't care about Destiny anymore yet you still play... Hmm... Okay. I spent ALL of my coins once I hit 300 light trying for 310s and buying 3oCs. I get 19~ just playing a few hours a day, so at this point it shouldn't have been hard to save up enough to try to get some legacy engrams. Doing them once a week wouldn't be grinding them, its not like they'd have to play it 3 times a week every week.

Edited by PeetSquared: 2/11/2016 2:08:41 AMLol, I'm waiting for a certain game to release, just killing time and shooting guns every once in awhile. I really don't understand what you are trying to judge about me, here? Whatevs, though. Anyway, I'd think it would be pretty tough to keep up with chasing yr2 exotics through 3oCs, have enough to chase legacy engrams if and when the certain types came around AND have any semblance of time to do content that they wanted to do. Like I said, I don't super care. I'm just playing devil's advocate for what I saw as a hole in an argument.

Time to do the content they wanted? You can use 3oCs in PvP, strikes, raids, some story missions, and some places in patrol. There, loads of time to do what you want and still make progress for y2 exotics so you can save a few extra coins a week to buy legacy weapon engrams. A hole? Not really. Do one of those once a week, or both on one character once a week. It's been 2 months for the Christmas guardians, so that's at least a few tries. And it's obviously been even longer since TTK first dropped, so yay even more chances since then. There's really no excuse except bad RNG if they've put the effort into it, or just set aside some strange coins.

Edited by PeetSquared: 2/11/2016 2:25:50 AMYes well, I think the path you've laid out sounds like very shitty game design (farming yr 1 content to hope rng gives you a near-obsolete weapon that allows you to get around a very recent change in PvP, which beforehand, wouldn't have even been conceived as being needed). I'm very glad I accomplished pretty much everything I wanted in Destiny. Every new change seems to bring out some new form of step back or short sightedness. Edit...sorry if that came off as salty. I'm not. I just don't really get what Bungie is doing, sometimes.
