Crimson Double Troubles
So a friend and I have been preparing for this new event for a while now and we finally started at noon on initial day of release. We've been dominated 4 games in a row, without a single win. The players we fought against were good sports but mainly Mida users and Last Word users. Since the matchmaking was changed to connection based rather than skill-based, I feel like we are unfairly matched with guardians that came straight our of doing a bender of Trials, HM Raids, and Iron Banner. We just wanna have fun and not get shoulder charged 15 seconds into the match, or get Mida'd across The Anomaly.
But holy smokes does this rustle the jimmies when I'm trying to have a good time, and all I get is hardship and relentless grenades...
This was more of a expressing of one's personal experience of about an hour of their butt getting kicked like crazy.
Edit: Just won our first match, the enemy team disconnected at the beginning of the game. Tears of Joy were generated that hour...
Another Edit: 40 plus comments, mostly very positive about their experiences during the newest Crimson Days. Glad to see how everyone is enjoying the event, hoping for some tweaks against bringing Invective and Ice Breaker, fighting against Trials players and prominently getting flattened in their attempt. I'll keep responding as much as I can and we'll all have a pow-wow about this later in life... Maybe...

Utterly disappointing. It's an endless circle of nerfing down, I know it will be last word and mida next, then whatever replaces them as the go to weapons. They should all have been left alone at the start and gradually replaced over time with better stuff. Crimson doubles, rubbish drops, rubbish idea, snipers,last word and mida.

2 RepliesIn my opinion Crimson Days has/is a total waste of your gaming time,. In a loot based game playing new events like Crimson Days can be great FUN....Here's the catch PROVIDED the time investment yields rewards. When the rewards are lacking or underwhelming it takes away from the experience of playing the event. It makes the event feel like a total waste of time. Crimson Days is/was a waste of time. Sorry but after playing 13 games at 316-317 light, finishing all bounties and cashing them all in together. I only received a 295 Brave Shell and an emote. Did not see any high light legendary items nor any ghosts drop as post match rewards during this time. You never get a second chance to make a good first impression. I'm done with Crimson Days.

Most of my kills came from grenades, throwing knives, and super with a few coming from shotgun (the next big thing, not conspiracy) Doubles is about map knowledge, situational awareness, skill tree setup, armor choice, and ability skill. Weapon skill is the least necessary.

5 RepliesIv been enjoying Crimson days. Do the rewards suck balls? Yes. Is it worth a crap colored ghost? No. But it is still fun to do casually with a good friend. Main things Iv run into was.. yeah ice breaker or no land beyond, and yes those sewaties that use the last word.. But a curious thing Iv seen happening is the other team offing them selves.. Running off the map. I honestly do not understand the point of doing this.. My friend and I ran into this twice tonight, and on the same map. It is just weird.. and honestly, no fun. It feels weirdly like a loss to us. Has anyone else run into other teams doing this?

Elimination is my least favourite game type . Would have preferred the normal doubles skirmish type rules . Anyway, it's not been bad . Not great either and the drop rates for ghosts are poor .

5 RepliesI'm tired of seeing a bright red light across the map for the entire game. Not to say people shouldn't use snipers, I guess, what I'm saying is I wish people would hold enough faith in their primaries to not cheese ice breaker and invective.

I prefer the CBMM, simply because I'd rather know that I lost because of someone's skill not the fact that I'm a red bar and it takes 20 melee's to take one person down. But, it really doesn't matter to me. I'm just in it for the 2 shaders, 2 ghosts and they don't require me to win......just finish the match. :D

Same story here. Played 7 or 8 matches today and there was ONE match where the other team wasn't T-bagging or dancing after every round they won. In addition to the absolutely shitty attitudes, ran into some questionable lag, lots of Ice Breaker, Thorn, Mida and 1k yarders from the next damn planet. I am stunned there was nothing for PvE, no new armor or weapons (even just a pink re-skin with hearts on it, you KNOW PVPers would use that shit), and ONE step in the main quest! Partner and I decided to focus on the weapon specific kills and then we are just rushing with sidearms until we get all the rest of the bounties done. If Bungie isn't going to make the game mode fun, we are going to do it ourselves.

Connection based... Every game I went up against a team that always had 1 Red Bar.... And everytime that was the surviving player.... Almost as if it is the new exploit, to lag switch and become a teleporting god.

I lost two games last night out of about 12 and in one of those losses my teammate and I never died from a single bullet. It was all fusion grenades from these 2 titans rocking armamentarium. I hated it but I must admit it was really cool that their strategy was so efficient.

5 RepliesI used SUROS Regime and my team-mate used Red Death. We still won 14 matches (almost 3 whole games) before we lost a match. In total, we won 4 whole games before we lost a whole game. Are people that pathetic that they need to do absolutely everything possible to win a stupid game, and tea bag on top of all that ?

2 RepliesYou need someone to play based in communication and skill. If your partner doesn't have one of this you are dead. I'm not an average pvp player but you need to know when hide and shot or atk directly. If you are vs a Mida user don't -blam!-ing go and show your head! If you are vs a TLW user shot him from distance! Also you know? There are people with thorn, her benevolence, Ice breaker and another bothersome weapons from Y1. You need to know how to deal with those things.

10 matches in so far and I have won a single match with my partner. Getting steamrolled match after match is not fun.

I share your same sentiment. I'm struggling to get wins. A lot of people will say get good, but the reality is you just want to have fun and not get smashed game after game. I mean they should do losses like they do wins in ToO. If you lose 4 in a row, you should be matched against a team that lost 4 in a row as well.

7 RepliesMan i go 3x flawless every week, i kinda know im a "sweaty player" but don't really care 4 it. i feel as tho skill based games were better but at the end of the day if i and my friend get trampled over by a team of "sweaties" we just move on and play some more. The only thing that pisses me off atm is those groups of ppl in trials who go in red barring, stay red barring and unkillable but green bar at the end when we or they win. Crimson doubles was a bit of a let down, already done all bounties on all chars but i do enjoy getting friends in teams of 2's and finding them, setting restrictions like only melee and nades. its a good blast. and to all those "unsweaty" people that will no doubt complain to this post, its a game, go play some cod or halo if you want dedicated servers with little to no lag

Bungie made such a joke out of this activity. I mean first off the light doesnt matter which made it garbage in my eyes. Then goes the special nerf which is ok if you rush and quickly kill the other team right away or be killed right away. I ran for about 2 hours yesterday and won a total of 5 matches which all the trials sweaty asses dominated with their blue pulse rifles. It was such a garbage add on and everything about this game mode was terrible from the start. But again who would have guessed bungie would make an awesome add on for once. Hahahaha joke was on us.

1 ReplyI played with my Sister, who to be honest is not very good, but she tries. I had a feeling we would be running 25 matches to finish one of the bounties. But we actually won several. One match we went 5-0. Then again we also got run over at 1-5 a couple times. Is what it is.
