Fix The Smoke/Vortex Crutch AKA The Wombo Combo

It kills way too fast and it's unfair because there's no counter. Don't deny it hunters, it's pretty op. Edit: We did it 450 replies and every comment is someone saying one of these 3 things: -Firebolt is more op -But...but us hunters have to sacrifice a Melee and grenade charge! -Lol Yes Firebolt is op, but so is this smoke issue. I don't know why smoke is considered a Melee because it is throwable (that's a word deal with it) but anyways... [spoiler]bungo plz[/spoiler] Edit 2: 600 replies. Now everyone is still saying smoke if balanced because it takes a "Melee" charge. Let me tell you something. Is it truly a Melee if you can throw it like a second grenade? A simple fix would be to buff smoke but make it a grenade, as well as buffing vortex. Yes, I main a warlock and I'm aware of Firebolt being op. That's not the point of this post however. Edit 3: Ok yes I am a bit salty about this because we lost our 8-0 trials game against smoke/vortex abusers. I knew it was annoying in the first place but losing an entire trials match because of that is so annoying. Call it op, a crutch, exploit, whatever.   • Firebolt needs nerf .... Nightstalker is fine because it doesn't burn for the whole match. Thorn wasn't even that bad. Just jump out of the vortex and smoke range.

  • First fix the fact that people take no damage from smoke/vortex half the time and then we can talk about how "OP" it is.

  • It is a big waste of melee and grenade. I could just shoot the guy instead of wasting two of my abilities on one single person. It makes no sense to why it's OP when it's a waste of a tactic.

  • I definitely see your point on the issue but at the same time, a grenade should usually count as a kill, fire bolt, and axion leaves health reeling/ flux, trip mine, magnetic, and fusion all kill instantly, and when you look at night stalker grenades they all lack potential for killing in short times. All night stalker grenades are zone control centered which is where their strengths lie, because of the tandem plays that can be made. I think if it's specifically pointed out on the subclass it should be alright for the double toss. Hunter main aside, I'd be happy to see changes to some aspects of night stalker. But I think the grenades are fine.

              • Holy sh*t you are so stupid. Firebolts, shoulder charge, landfall, hammers, fusions, ALL OF THAT, and you chose to complain about a goddamn Hunter melee. Hunters are probably the most balanced class in the train crash of balancing. Stop complaining about melees, and go tell them to nerf TLW and MIDA

                  Throwing knife is a melee charge. Long range just like smoke. You wanna know why you probably lost the match? Because I have a feeling you were rushing in on it. Tbh if you aren't an incompetent ass and dont rush in on hunters, you can escape a smoke fairly easily. Smoke does 17 dot vortex does a little more than 20 sure youll die fast but its not like you cant double jump or floof or blink or move away. Its annoying but can be combated. Firebolt goes through walls and hits for well over 100 plus burn of viking funeral and touch of flame can easily kill if you get one shot by anything. I dont think warlock gets to say anything is op until that shit is fixed. I run warlock as well and firebolt/stormcaller melee is the stupidest thing ever. I have killed people with that melee from well over a meter out and it really should not have happened. Stop whining. Everything has its imbalances. The damn titan melee will send you flying into the roof on top of that. So chill out and sit down.

                    • Rather than ignoring the multitude of people disagreeing with you and telling them not to post, perhaps you should acknowledge its time to change your view. Smoke + nade requires 2 perk choices, a melee and nade charge, and if you want to use it frequently requires giving up almost all your int (= much fewer supers). You basically build your char around it. It's also not that hard to avoid if you play thoughtfully, and is quite survivable if you stick with your teammates and don't panic. Frequently dying to smoke nade indicates a problem with your play style, not with the combo.

                    • Right now it's fine because there are so many broken abilities and mechanics that I find that every thing is fairly balanced
