Ok, I'm not sure if I'm the only one noticing this, but here the past couple of days I've seen alot of people below 250 light using Year 1 exotics and Legendaries in the Iron Banner. Which, really shouldn't be happening, they do way to much damage for their light level/weapon Level. I recall Bungie telling us that when the Taken King Dropped, Iron Banner was gonna rely more on your light level and the level of your gear as a whole, giving players more incentive to grind for the better weapons and armor. But what's the point of the light/weapon level progression if people that up and say "-blam!- the grind!" And grab all their year one stuff, jump into Iron Banner, and do just as well if not better. I personally have seen at least 20 Ice Breakers within the last two days, several pocket infinites, god knows how many Felwinters, here and there I spotted a couple Queen Breakers and sometimes a Thorn. But I don't understand what the point of having a game mode like Iron Banner with mechanics like level advantages. If people that can take year 1 gear and go into a Year 2 leveled game mode, at this point most of the weapons and armor they are using was handed to them, while us using year 2 gear had to actually grind for it and work to get it leveled up. All the blood sweat and tears and not to mention hours/days/months that us, as year 2 players, have put into the this game just to keep up, much less get ahead. I know it may sound drastic at first, but this about this, all year 1 weapons should do minimal damage, 10 for a body, 15 a crit. Year 1 snipers, 15 a body, 20 a crit. Everything else can be up to who ever. But doing this should give these people incentive to go back to grinding and earning instead of douching up the crucible.
