Me and my step dad don't get along
Me and my step dad never get along it seems like all we do is fight. I'm tired of the crap. I've done my best I don't ever initiate arguments anymore but still seems like we always do. I don't know what to do anymore. Any advice at all from anybody?

If college is in your future I suggest sticking it out until then. My step dad and I fought all the time. So, when I left for college I didn't have to hear him or even really speak to him anymore. We talk on occasion now. But, I have my own house so I can visit and leave their house whenever I please. Just remember life goes on.

I never got along with my father. So once I turned 18, I left and immediately cut him off.

2 RepliesLooking at your name your 18 this year, so just save your pennies and prepare to move out if your not in school. If you are college or whatever next year so keep your head down and stick it out. I'll be honest but won't go into detail on a internet fourm but over the years I went thru hell because of my stepdad. I look back now and a [b]lot [/b]of it was [u]uncalled[/u] for taking his issues out my direction but it was also he just was looking out for me in ways. And I wouldn't be who or where I am now if it was all peachy. Now I don't know enough about you, him or your situation to give any real advise. But maybe step back and see things from his point of view, being younger you might not even notice you could still be doing the thing/s you argue over. And don't do silly stuff like other guys are suggesting to make your mum hate him. If he makes your mother happy, remember he'll still be there when you leave to start your own life. Moral to the story, stick it out mate.

Be patient Fortuna will always be by your side. Edit:To those questioning my ruthlessness towards my step dad he was a drunk and beat/abused my mother and my little brother and would always blow his money in the casino then rather paying bills. I wouldn't wish this on someone who didn't deserve it but he did and now he has to live with the consequences.
