Give me one valid reason gay marriage should be illegal.

Edit: unsurprisingly, the bigots here insist on using two very invalid reasons.
1. "Its against my religion!". And? Ever hear the term separation of church and state? Completely invalid.
2. "Its unnatural!". [url=http://http://www.yalescientific.org/2012/03/do-animals-exhibit-homosexuality/]This[/url] article from Yale suggests otherwise. There are also countless other studies saying the exact same thing, that there are plenty of wild animals that exhibit homosexual behavior.
I have yet to see ONE valid reason it should be illegal. Its almost like there isn't one...

Well. I see no reason for it to not be allowed. Its mainly due to christian beliefs. But Religion is not allowed to affect peoples legal rights in most first world countries. So not being allowed due to the bible breaks the constitution. Supresses freedom. We are in a new time now where we can make our own choices and don't have need to listen to religion. We have outgrown it. But people still pick and choose what they want to happen, using the bible to back them up. So really the reason that gay people aren't allowed marriage is because pig heads that don't like discomfort don't allow it. But I don't mind. It may be unnatural but since when do we start listening to nature? Besides. Its not like they can go on to have biologically bred kids anyway. So I see no harm done

4 RepliesThe only thing I'd like to add is that the concept of the separation of church and state goes both ways. A church should not have the right to dictate what the government does, and likewise the government should not have the right to dictate what a church does.

Churches should be allowed to follow their beliefs without being forced to break them for homosexual marriages, but homosexuals should also be allowed to marry thru a Church/organization that accepts them.
