Remember when "Last Guardian Standing" was actually terrifying in a Nightfall?
I do. Nightfalls used to be one of my favorites Strikes to do because it was actually challenging and unforgiving.
Anyone can solo a nightfall now, but props and respect to those who soloed it when "Nightfall" modifier was active. I soloed a few with my trusty Ice Breaker.
Whats your best Nightfall memory?

Edit 6. When creating this post I only thought a couple of people would get nostalgia and share some memories, but the replies are in the 1000's now! It's great to see Im not the only one who misses the sweaty hands and intense feeling from the old Nightfall.

Firing the kill shot in his smug face just as his final rocket blasts my last tiny sliver of health, but I still got the win. Sweaty, shaky, amped, and I may have peed a little. Edit: This was before I knew about that little cubby hide away in the far left corner. Run, Run, RUN!!!

Soloed arc burn Archon priest with Plan C because I was doing the exotic bounty for Pocket Infinity.

Just before the Icebreaker nerf, solar burn Valus Tu'arc came up. Vision, Icebreaker, tracking solar Dreamwaker or Gjallarhorn.. Burn it all down. Much fun.

Me and my friend always did the nightfall I never soloed it though and one time my friend died and I was last guardian I was really scared and I threw a grenade at my feet and we had to do it all over again

I agree. The Nightfall was somthing to go for first, and a reward that felt good to get. Now it is nothing special, and the whole weekly reset suffers for it. No excitement or challenge in the weekly reset... High level players are getting less and less to look forward to.

I was never a huge NF player despite being a week 1 destiny player. Just a glorified strike to me and I didn't care about the XP because I never bothered to choose a faction. This new NF is certainly much weaker now though. It's hardly harder than a Heroic nowadays. I

Favourite memory was being carried by my much higher levelled friend. Me and the other low level were screwing around and we both got legendary engram drops as well as MIDAs. Friend gets coins.

My favorite memory of year one was soloing sepiks prime, on the arcburn lightswitch week. Before tdb, while still level 28. Using the plan C... took 2 hours, no wipes. Red bar hp was terrifying. The best part was, I got another plan C out of it.....

1 ReplyEdited by jay p: 12/18/2015 5:39:15 AMI soloed every strike as a nightfall pre-HoW. Not every nightfall, mind you, but at least once of each strike I've soloed when it was a nightfall. Took forever. First one I ever soloed was in vanilla, the vex one (the nexus), with void burn. Got to the boss 4 times before I managed to solo it. And had to camp out in the little room with my ice breaker and a void sniper and void heavy machine gun. Was pretty crazy. Then I got shitty drops of course. Devils lair was cake once I found my strat for the boss. Didn't even try to solo archon priest till I got my gjallarhorn during TDB. Way more an intense experience. One mistake could mean an hours worth of time just wasted.

Every time you wipe right as a darkness zone goes away and you see the skull, but you all get rezzed instead. That's my favorite moment.

My best was long ago when I was working on my warlock. Switched to it when omnigul was nearly dead. I think level 28,no self Res couldn't do anything. Right as I joined a knight killed both team members. Then several enemies stood over the orbs. I apologized to the team, threw every grenade I could and somehow revived them.

It hasn't been useful to run the nightfall since it stopped giving a XP buff.
