The Last Word was nerfed quite a while ago. You didn't see one in every single match you ever played in the crucible anymore. But it would still pop up now and again. Still deadly. Not as deadly, but a skilled hand could use it. Like it was MEANT to be. (read the grimoire card on it.) I understand hand cannons recently got a range increase with this update but I mean come on. Maybe leave this one out? TLW is just cheaper than ever now. You guys know it is. That's why it's in such high quantities in the crucible. The chances of getting into a match where there is at LEAST 1 LW is higher than a match with 0.
Don't believe that? Go play 5 matches in different lobbies right now. I can GARUNTEE you TLW will be in the majority. Even if that individual(s) are on your team, that weapons there. Multiplayer shouldn't be like that.
EDIT: I guess this needs clarification (although it shouldn't) but when I say "cheaper than ever" I mean since year 2. Seeing as nearly all weapons of legendary status went moot and exotics all got re-vamped at that point.

10 RepliesI almost never see it in the crucible, and when I do they just get owned. You people hop on the forums, see what people are complaining about and just bandwagon along. Do you guys even play the game or just troll the forums? My experience In the crucible for the last few weeks has been a ton of autos and scouts. That is what I see a majority of. Sorry if my experience has been way better than yours.

3 RepliesEdited by Radahn: 12/25/2015 1:31:08 PMThe thing is touching the damage or mag size would destroy the gun...they need to nerf the range thats it.. Or imo just remove ADS on it...(so its strong for skilled people)....
-
It wasn't a range increase. They made the handcannons inaccurate with the ttk patch. It required zero skill because it was random on hitting people. The new gun at least shoots where you aim it. Bring thorn to year 2!!!!
-
13 RepliesCheaper than ever? Calling bullshit. I used to be able to kill people across maps with that thing. All they did was increase ads accuracy, which if you're adsing with TLW you are doing it wrong. It's an easily counterable weapon.

Edited by Destroydacre: 12/25/2015 6:43:52 PMThis is just an example of how bungie's "balancing" doesn't actually fix anything. Yes TLW got a range nerf in 2.0, but the major change was the accuracy nerf for all hand cannons. It had its intended effect on TLW, but it made all hand cannons complete crap as a result. Now that hand cannon accuracy has been buffed, which was needed, the major nerf to TLW has been undone. If Bungie had just balanced TLW from the start, then there wouldn't be a problem but Bungie continues to be lazy and apply nerfs to entire weapon classes because of a select few guns from that class.

I mean This dude has a point The gun is everywhere and it's really good I like it I hate being killed by it But that's destiny, you are being killed by "x" so "x" is Op

1 ReplyHand cannons just got a accuracy buff which was needed. I was using last word before the buffed it and I was literally shooting blanks, and I wasn't missing. Happened a lot.
-
I have been using TLW since taken king dropped pretty much. (Skipped HOW or I prolly would have used it then too) it's always been amazing for me to pair with a sniper. The buff didn't seem to do much for me or at least I haven't noticed much of a difference. However, I do get tired of losing the RNG fight vs other TLW users. Since a lot of it comes down to the hip fire luck
-
6 RepliesI like all of the shitposters that use TLW defending it's state of balance. it's super cheap and kinda broken considering it does the most damage and has the fastest fire rate (talking hip firing), as well as stupid long ADS range (why does a hipfire have this ability anyways?) i dont even want to go into more detail because everyone knows it is overpowered

I'll believe you as soon as you learn to spell guarantee

8 RepliesHand cannons didn't receive a range increase. They just adjusted the way it looks when you sim down sights. Also the gun is fair. You have to land 3-4 shots to kill player. Not many players can can actually do that. And the gun only has 8 in magazine, at most you're getting 2 kills before reloading Thorn still 3 shots in blink of eye. Mida 4 shots just as fast. The weapons are a bit more balanced

Edited by Powerfvl: 12/25/2015 4:41:11 PMIf you're getting outgunned by a last word user when at range you just plain out suck, that shouldn't be happening lol. If it happens up close well it's doing its job. But at far ranges, you should be embarrassed :)
-
Hand cannons never got a range buff with the last balancing, only an ads-accuracy buff. Get your facts straight
-
I have just barely been using it and I do pretty decent with it, don't see any problem with it, been like it has for a while
-
I used it today didn't think much of it
-
1 ReplyEdited by BlindManPlaying: 12/25/2015 2:52:24 PMThe range didn't get increased, ads did
-
TLW didn't get a range increase. It got more ADS accuracy. I don't know about you, but I think a bullet should go where I'm aiming it.
-
Hand cannons didn't get a range increase.

B U M P

It's perfectly fine as is. Not as badass as it originally was... not as terrible after nerf. It should be left alone.
-
5 RepliesThe reason why TLW is so dominant right now is because auto rifles (the other weapon type that could combat handcannons at their range) are shit
-
1 ReplyI don't want to use it but I've been slacking on my chaperone quest
-
It's balanced. It's now a fast killing weapon at a short range, but can't compete with weapons at a longer range
-
Majority of sidearms compete with it. Try MIDA/sidearm.
-
Its fine don't get close or jump around some and watch them waste a whole mag.
-
You want a nerf just say it
