I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CURRENT SYSTEM JUST STATING AN OPINION THAT WOULD MAKE DESTINY BETTER TO CASUALS WHO LIKE PVP MORE THAN PVE BUT ALSO REWARDS THE BEST OF THE BEST
You go 9-0
You have been marked by the Eye of Osiris
Buff: You will only play against other players who have gone Flawless this week.
Buff: Character has massive light radiating from their head (bring back Nightfall buff animation)
If you can make it to the Lighthouse again you get much more rewarding gifts from Osiris. Like elemental primary/emblems/shaders
Buff ends at reset.
133,444 went flawless.
820,986 people played.
I will bet anything it drops below 800k this week. Bungies problem. We are just going to find a new game.
This would make matchmaking much much better at puting equal groups against each other
This would make players who have never been to the Lighthouse actually want to play.
Put non flawless players vs non flawless players.
Sick of people playing just to keep others from going.
Regardless of your opinion, thanks for the bump.
Best responses
If I considered myself one of the best. This idea would really appeal to me.
Pure competition only play against the best.
But from what I'm reading in the responses it's more you want to stop others getting to the lighthouse than you want to fight competitively.
Seems pretty childish to me.

I would just like to see the best Elimination players face each other.
It would be well worth watching.
It looks like the majority of flawless people would rather stop people getting to the lighthouse than fight other flawless. #cowards maybe.

I find it funny that those who have gone flawless and replied to this post have almost universally been rude and offensive.
What's so wrong with more people getting the chance to go to lighthouse? Why are the so called "elite" so threatened by this?

I agree, it would open up more opportunities for the people who didnt go flawless, to do so. And once that happens (if i was to go flawless). Id love to play against the best of the best. Brings more intense and fun competition.

Having gone flawless: I LOVE this idea. Not only do I get to show off that not only did I got flawless that one time (emblem), but I did it THIS WEEK (flaming head).
Not only that, but now I can compete against the best of the best and not destroy the balance of Trails by continuing to compete against scrubs who are already struggling.
I'm down to make trails more accessable. I think this is brilliant.

I think if you have gone to the lighthouse, you should never play a team that has zero lighthouse arrivals. I think rewards should scale acoordingly. I dont have the time (and this pvp is dreadful) to learn the minutiae of a map while being rap3d by "elites" its bad enough i cant get a decent team for oryx hm cp.
1 ReplySO WHOS GONNA DEFEND THE LIGHTHOUSE

2 RepliesI'm certainly not "mlg trials pro" as I have only gone flawless three times, and in the previous system. But it is completely fine and fair that flawless people continue to play. That's the whole point; to let the best enter the lighthouse and the rest get to try, try again. Not allowing the best to continue playing is asking for a free handout. It's supposed to be hard to get there. That is the point. That is what makes it worthwhile if you ever do get there.

1 ReplyDude they sell tickets to the lighthouse via ebay... they will keep on wrecking ppl as long as they get paid for...
-
5 RepliesSomeone is salty that they won't ever see that beautiful cutscene with their own character in it.

You do have a point, but at the same time with the amount of people that actually make it flawless, matchmaking would take absolutely forever. I for one have never made it to the thing, and with how bad I am at crucible, I don't think I ever will. So I can't vote this way or that way.
-
2 RepliesWe are here to protect the way to the lighthouse from scrubs. OP you're an absolute moron. Why should everyone be able to go ? Earn it, it will mean more if you get there rather than scrubs having it handed to them.
-
Once a team goes flawless they should be out until the next time around.

1 ReplyEdited by ItsYourLandlord: 11/7/2015 2:55:39 AMI will never get off. My medal score and KD will grow forever!!!! Muahhahahahhaha!
P.S. We have people who say "Destiny will never be a competitive title!" Then we have this guy complaining that people are better than him at something. If that's not competitive, then I don't know what is.
4 RepliesSo if I want to stop scrubs like you from reaching the lighthouse, I can't because of this. This idea is idiotic because everyone would just play on Monday when everyone good. Therefore, I will continue pub stomping kids like you so that the lighthouse remains an actual challenge
-
Just because you see someone with a flawless emblem doesn't mean they went flawless that week. And just because you see the flawless emblem doesn't mean they've went flawless with that character. Trials is a mental battle more than anything.

1 ReplyYes this shit here

3 RepliesThat's going to mess up matchmaking with extremely long wait times and the connection will be even worse.
-
1 ReplyAww that sounds amazing. More things to do on one character after lighthouse. I love this idea.

1 ReplyEdited by CorvusLumen: 11/7/2015 3:27:27 AMGood idea, I'd like to like to challenge other flawless.

1 ReplySigned, but Bungie will do whatever they want. *cough recent weekly update cough*
-
Bump.

3 RepliesWhat happens if you go flawless and then want to help people? Would you be matched with non-flawless people or flawless only??
-
Get rekt
-
2 RepliesFlawless should give you a buff that allows you to kill all those who never went Flawless in one shot, even if they shoot you first.

I would say yes if and only if you managed to go flawless again it's guaranteed 320 light rewards
