36 RepliesSimple, they are heat sinks. As any good electrical engineer knows, when you put electronics closer together, heat becomes an issue. The torso on a female exo is smaller than a male exo so the heatsinks are there so they don't overheat. boobs are already on organic females so it looks normal and provides heat protection at the same time.

Familiarity. Its done in the sense to make them look more human. If exos werent designed to look human they prob look like the bounty bot or sweeper bots. The idea is in other games, movies, books etc. Woukd you rather be around a machine all day or another human what would make you feel more comfortable with and able to help ease you into trusting the machine. Exo with boobs to give female look and allow for a male female human styled robots.

15 RepliesBecause... Exo's are essentially humans who transferred their consciousness into machines. If you were a male, you'd probably want to have an Exo body that looks masculine. If you were a female, you'd probably want an Exo body that looks female. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex vaguely touched upon this idea. Major Motoko Kusanagi is a female in female body but there is no reason why her prosthetic body couldn't have been a male one. She chose a female chassis because that's how she identifies herself ( because she was born a female ) and wants her wants her external appearance to reflect on how she identifies herself.
